I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
With six grandchildren birthday themes are always changing. Oh we have done every theme you can imagine. But, I've not seen a little girl yet that doesn't love unicorns.
This sweet and sassy little thing will turn 8 on May 16 and we celebrated her with a Unicorn Birthday party.
She requested for Nana to make her a unicorn cake. So a three tier rainbow color cake was made and though not perfect it sure made my Kyleigh happy.
We added Unicorn cupcakes to the party and everyone had a choice of dessert.
A friend made the unicorn cookies and each child got to take one home. Aren't they adorable?
The kids had so much fun. Pulled pork sandwiches, chips, drinks, and desserts was the menu. The kids had a ball playing in the pool, jumping on the trampoline, and playing corn hole.
They enjoyed roasting marshmallows for S'mores.
We sure had a fun time celebrating my favorite 8 year old. She truly has the "sweetest heart". She loves everyone!
Recently she spent the night with me so the next morning I asked her what she wanted for breakfast and she wanted a scrambled egg with syrup. YEP, she likes syrup on her eggs. So, when I poured the syrup to the side of the egg all of a sudden she says, "Nana, do you see the heart"? My Kyleigh always looks for the sweetness in life and I love looking at life through her eyes.
I had a wonderful Mother's day. Our family gathered for lunch at my oldest daughter's home and we enjoyed a relaxing day after church. All three of my daughter's are wonderful mothers. Marty and I could not ask for anything more than to see our children raise their children under the Word of God and instill godly values into their lives. What better gift could I ever desire?
Speaking of gifts....I racked up! YEP...love having three daughter's that knows what their mama likes! Beach time is here and that is my Happy Place. Our family beach trip is coming up in July but shhhhhh.....mama and daddy are sneaking off to the beach in a few weeks.
And a gift card was included that I am so happy about! I gave a gift card to the Salon and Spa to my oldest daughter recently so now my girls purchased me one as well and I can be pampered too!
And on the home front I've harvested the last of our potatoes...YUMMY!
And, I have truly been enjoying my beautiful lily's.
What an adorable party and theme. You did great with that cake! I love the idea of breakfast with her and spotting the syrup heart. How sweet! Your Mother's Day looked fabulous! Those potatoes look yummy and your lillies are gorgeous! Happy Mother's Day! Beach time sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. I was sorta intrigued myself when she asked me if I could see the heart shape! Marty and I plan to get off to the beach for a few days first of June. Looking forward to it. Family beach trip in July. I did have a great Mother's Day. God is good.

Can't believe she will be one already. YEP, girl, get your beach bag packed and head to the beach. You deserve it after that reno!

DeleteSo glad that you were spoiled on Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteThe unicorn cake is awesome! Back in the '80s, I used to read the Sweet Valley Twins book series. The popular girls formed a club called the "Unicorn Club" because they were unique. So every time I see unicorns, which is en vogue these days, I think of these books.

That's funny Kris about the syrup. I know people that like ketchup on their eggs. I just want regular eggs. LOL! But then I do like to dip my sausage in syrup occasionally.
DeleteHappy Bday! What an adorable looking bday party! I love it....I have yet to be in a pool so far this season, course the past few days have been COLD. Okay, maybe cooler and just COLD to me since it don't take much! haha. Cake looks AMAZING.

Thanks Bonnie. Girl, I am in need of some beach time. Even if only for a few days. Hoping it works out that we can go. Then family beach trip in July and we spend 7 days together and have so much fun.
DeleteWow! I am amazed at your unicorn cake decorations! That was so beautiful, I would not have wanted to eat it, but I am sure it was delicious too, and I can imagine how your sweet grand girl loved it! What a super wonderful Nana you are! And what lovely gifts for Mother's Day! You are truly blessed to have such wonderful, thoughtful daughters and family. Syrup on eggs? hmm, well, when we have waffles, eggs and sausage, I also spill a bit of syrup over everything...so I guess I like that too, but mostly I like it on the sausage!! I do hope you and hubby will have a wonderful beach getaway. Sounds delightful. God bless you and have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. I like to dip my sausage links in a little syrup occasionally too. Our girl loved her party and had the best time.
DeleteHappy birthday to sweet Kyleigh! It looks like she had a great celebration, and her cake was amazing! You were extra blessed with a beautiful Mother’s Day, too! Enyoy the spa day! 😍. We spend most of the weekend with little Jack, his mommy and daddy and other grandma, Cami. He had his dedication at church Sunday, what a blessing!! It was a chilly weekend but we enjoyed several meals together and lots of visiting. Enjoy your week, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks you Zenda. I am enjoying seeing your grandson's picture. Such a doll baby he is. Oh yes, I am sure you enjoyed every moment of his dedication at church. How wonderful. Can you believe it was cool here this morning? CRAZY Florida weather.
DeleteHappy Birthday to Kyleigh! The unicorn birthday theme was such a cute idea...and that cake!! You have such a great talent for setting up the best parties! My grand boys also loved eating syrup on their eggs...and sometimes I do too, especially if there I sausage wit them! Girl...you are making me jealous...I need a beach trip too! I'm going to have to do something about that! Enjoy the rest of your week, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks friend but all I done was make her cake. Her mama done all the work. LOL! I wish I had some scrambled eggs right about now. I am ready for a little beach time. Hope you get to go soon!
DeleteYou are so right about little girls and unicorns. Our 4 year old Granddaughter LOVES them. Her 4th birthday party in Feb. was all things unicorn. I'm sure impressed with your cake making ability. Your family is just beautiful and you are extra blessed to have them nearby. I just hate having our daughter 8 hours away. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOur Kyleigh has all sorts of unicorn things. Never knew there so much out there with a unicorn. LOL! Thanks Lea. I am blessed for sure. We have always lived close by and I am so thankful.
DeleteThe unicorn cake is too adorable!! What a perfect party, great food, swimming, marshmallows, treats, you thought of everything! Yes, watching your children become great parents is the most rewarding part of motherhood! Looks like you had a wonderful Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks Jenna. My daughter takes the credit for all the goodies and treats for the party. Nana was in charge of the cake. LOL! But that was enough because I'm so slow these days that it took me almost all day to do the cake. Ha! I'm sure not fast as I used to be! And there is nothing more important than seeing my children and grandchildren follow after Christ. I surely give Him all the praise.
DeleteAmazing, I'm sure you had a great time together...
