{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

Our family beach vacation has ended but oh the memories will remain. Seven days of beach and family time surely flew by. But, as my husband said, "If we done this every day we would not appreciate it as much". Well, that may be true but I sure would love to give it a  TRY

Our family began our "family beach" trips when that little girl in the middle (hands on hips) was only two years old. She is eight years old now. We have grown in size since then and we have so many wonderful memories from years pass. Each year it is a joy to add to those sweet memories.

A sweet and dear friend gave me my little beach flag and needless to say our FAMILY domain was decorated the best! I even had my own little folding table on the beach. Might as well do things up right...RIGHT? The family is just lucky I didn't drag dishes to do a tablescape. LOL!

These girls of mine sure keep my life interesting. NEVER a DULL or QUIET moment! Don't know what I would do without them.

Needless to say, my man is in his happy place when all his girls are together.  My three daughters along with my three oldest grandgirls and I plan on taking a trip together in December and Marty has already said, "Not sure I like the idea of all my girls being gone at the same time".  Yep, and all these gals has him wrapped!

I am so blessed that we can do life together and do it with our children and grandchildren.

This bunch of kiddos surely has our heart strings. My "favorite" grandson is surrounded by females, bless his heart. His papa knows exactly how he feels though.

We went out to eat several times and this particular place had the prettiest view.

 "Caps on the Water"

 Marty and I have ate there before and the food is so good but the scenery is beautiful.

 Web picture

I forgot to snap a picture of the Sunset Grill that we ate it so had to snitch one from the webWe took turns preparing meals as well as eating out and we sure had some good eating for the week.

My oldest granddaughter is very artistic so she drew us some cute things on the sand at the beach.

We done sand paintings one afternoon with the kids. They loved it.

Hair coloring and face masks was an afternoon delight.

Or maybe a fright! LOL!

We always go crab hunting at least one or two nights. The kids love it and we adults spend our time laughing at the kids screaming and racing to catch a crab. No worries...no crabs  injured and all were released.

This crew is showing off their puzzle one morning as they had stayed up late the night before putting it together. They actually put together two puzzles while we were there. I wish I had the patience but I don't. But isn't that puzzle just beautiful?

The kids enjoyed playing around on the grounds. The condo we stay at has outside games, tennis court, two pools, workout room, media center and more. There is always something to do. We had beautiful weather with the exception of maybe half a day.

Though some of the kiddos had no problem whatsoever taking a nap on the beach.

That's the life isn't it?

This girl likes to read like her mama and her nana. I actually read two books while at the beach to finish up a series of three books by Terri Blackstock. If you like to read her books are a must!

We even spotted a mermaid at the beach....

And in the pool.

We enjoyed every moment. And, we have gone enough now that we know the tips of the trade of beach life. We looked like a convoy with all of our tents, beach chairs, coolers, swimming pool for the little ones and well, you name it and we had it.

We had tons of pictures but I choose just a few to share. Aren't you glad I ONLY choose a few? These last few pictures my daughter Melissa captured one morning early on the beach.  The Lord surely blessed us with a wonderful time with family. I am ready to go back!

All God's greatness in His magnificent creation will leave you spellbound by His goodness.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and if you see a mermaid anywhere remember:

    1. We are truly blessed. I had someone tell me yesterday that she had saw my posts on FB from one of my daughter's during our beach trip and she couldn't help but think, "Our family will never do things like that together". My friend, I try real hard NOT to take my blessings with my family for granite though I am sure I do at times. But oh do I love me some beach and we have such a great time.

  6. Oh Cindy I just smiled all the way through your post this morning. Our lives mimic each other so much. We just got home from our family vacation at the pool and beach too. Just fun to see all them smiling and making such great memories. Have a great day today.

  7. Girl, you have really been livin' it up lately! Your time at the beach with all of the family had to be just so much fun...I can see why you continue to do this every year! Loved all of the great group photos...you have such a nice looking bunch of kiddos and grand kiddos...Marty and the others "boys" as well. That is some super artwork that your grand girl carved in the sand...pretty amazing! Now that I am super jealous after seeing all of your pics, I am ready for some beach time (we are actually hoping to get there early this fall as I am recouping from my surgery). Hugs & blessings!

    1. I hope that you do get to go to the beach as you recover from surgery Debby. It's so relaxing and peaceful to me. Just looking our into that vast ocean can be surreal. One thing is for sure if you get to go in the Fall. It won't be crowded. A few years ago we went for an anniversary in Sept. and the weather was great, but Florida weather can still be quite warm in September. But, we had the beach almost all to ourselves for three days. It was nice.

My sweetheart and I spent a few days at the beach a couple of weeks ago and we never want to leave. We are blessed to be close enough to take a day trip often back there. I'm slow catching up again - as always. And, dear friend, I finally posted on my blog a couple of days ago after many months away. Another new post went up yesterday. I'll be back to visit you again.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
