{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

{A Little Fall Fell}

 I hope that you have a wonderful Labor Day tomorrow. I hope to have a low key day and grilled steaks are on the menu at the Conner house tomorrow.

I have been itching to start decorating a little for Fall but girls this heat is about more than I can stand in Florida. Especially when all my decor is outside in my She Shed. I ventured out there yesterday to begin bringing in a few things and a FEW was it! I was drenched down in a matter of minutes. I got a feeling that come another year my sweet little She Shed will have AC. My first item to bring out on my list was my Lady Linda Tea Cup. Isn't she a beaut?

gifted me this beauty in 2017 during a Tea Cup Exchange.

She will lovingly be used with all my favorite teas...

And flavored creamers...

And coffee...

She is so perfect for Fall isn't she?

I did manage to get my little corner chair decorated. My handmade tray that I use often was turned vertical and held my "Give Thanks" sign perfectly.

This sweet little basket held my pumpkins. I love pumpkins don't you?

My little bench got a little Fall decor too and I was happy to bring out my truck! Y'all know I love me an old truck!

And y'all, it might be hot in Florida but not too hot for a bowl of my daughter Melissa's taco soup with chips! Ooh, just add a dollop or TWO of sour cream and you are good to go!

I hope that you have a wonderful Labor day and week. Enjoy each day that the Lord gives to you friends. Life is surely a precious gift. And REMEMBER.........

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. How pretty your Lady Linda teacup is!! So perfect for the season. I have a new Fall scented candle to get me in the mood and I'm going to take a look to see if any of my teacups look Fall-ish. Have a lovely Labour Day with your family.

  4. Hi Cindy! Oh has it ever been hot - seems like everywhere! Crazy days, these!

    I adore that teacup. I sure loved those teacup exchanges Stephanie used to do. She earned
    her wings putting that all together for so many. Bless her heart.

    Yes you are looking mighty festive over there! I have been considering getting my bins out but I usually wait until the corn stalks have dried up. To ME that's the real fall season's start. But I am itching for a new look - just tough when it's so hot.

    Have a fun holiday. Hugs.

  5. Your little bit of fall looks great! I love everything pumpkin, I've already enjoyed a pumpkin pie blizzard from Dairy Queen! It's so hot here too, the humidity is awful. Hope you're having a great Labor Day.

  6. I feel your pain in trying to decorate for Fall, Cindy. It’s so hard when it’s still so hot. Your Lady Linda teacup is indeed perfect for Fall, along with your sweet decor. I still have du flowers out until I get ready for the pumpkins and such. Happy Labor Day to you, my friend.

    1. I still have some pretty flowers thriving right now too Kitty. Though most are surely having to be watered daily. Even with a little rain the heat is not their friend.

  7. Oh you have inspired me! Actually, I did get out into our "shed"...not a "she-shed",but just a shed shed, filled with tools, boxes of my decor for the seasons, and a ton of other stuff we just couldn't fit in the house when we moved here. We've had good intentions of organizing it, but it is always too hot to do anything. I told hubby when it cools down we are going to get that place organized so we don't take our lives in our hands just looking for stuff! We'll see... Anyway, I love your "lady Linda teacup!" That is SO sweet, and perfect for fall! I love how you've arranged things so nicely. That taco soup looks good. Do you have the recipe? You'd better share it with us!! Let's join together in prayer for the hot humid weather here in Florida to go away and bring us a nice, cool, beautiful fall! Okay? The Bible says wherever two or more agree on something in prayer...He'll do it...so let's agree on this right away! :) Love ya girlfriend!! Enjoyed seeing "a little fall fell" in your house!

    1. Oh girl, I said last year that soon as it got cooler weather I was organizing that shed and tossing out and giving away and keeping ONLY things I use seasonable. I have not done that yet! I will have to get her recipe for you. The taco soup was really good. I even froze some for later. YUM!

  8. Cindy, That is a precious teacup! It is perfect for fall. Thinking about the fall flavors has put me in the mood for fall.
    I'm visiting my daughter's and their temperatures are lower than ours in the morning and evening. We are enjoying it.

    I also brought out my orange teawares over the weekend. The weather is starting to cool down here so the fall vibes are strong!

  15. haha....I don't wear lipstick! My lips are pink enough and I tend to lick it all off if I put it on. However I would phrase that saying as, "on a bad day there is always MASCARA. I love my mascara. We have had a some nice cooler days, and we I say cooler I mean not near the three digits. 94 today but not as much humidity. Here in TN its not always the heat index that gets us, its the humidity. We feel sort of like we are melting! I hate melting. I don't do fall as much as I used to, I don't do any holiday like I used to. Pulling out, unpacking, putting, packing back up, and putting back downstairs is more then I can take these days. I just put out a little. I even gave my daughter all most of my Halloween outdoor stuff when I took it down last yr... AGE, it is horrible, growing old is not for sissy's! Thing I will go put on some mascara!

  16. Oh Cindy, I love Audrey Hepburn, wasn't she the best!! It's too hot in Alabama too, only iced tea for me please, but your cup is so pretty! My granddaughter told me yesterday that it was time to redecorate our beach house tree, and she was right! We spent the morning pulling out some fall decorations and had a ball! So at least I can pretend that it's fall!! Love your fall corner chair and gather table!

  18. It is hot to decorate for Fall when it's still hot. Luckily our weather is starting to turn cooler this week. I've started with the front porch and the great room. Just a little pumpkin here and there. I've become a 'seasonal decorator' instead going with the holidays....less work! You enjoy your coffee and tea in that lovely cup! I've changed out my cups, too. We gals think a like! Have a great day, Cindy! Zenda

    1. Thanks Zenda. I have several Fallish tea cups and mugs and dragging them out to use. I would rather decorate seasonal as well. Less work! But I must say my favorite decor is Christmas. I love everything about it. About the time I get Fall out though it will time to put up and take out Christmas!!!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
