{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

(Time For A Little Girl Talk}

I hope that you all are doing well and staying healthy and that our week will be great for us all. I thought today that maybe I would share a few products with you all that I love. It's always good to see what products that other's have found to be tried and true for them.

First, let me say that I have dry and sensitive skin so I have to be careful about face products for sure. But I have found these to work just fine for me with my skin and my "Pocketbook" as my granny would have said.

My poor tubes are worn out as you can see from the picture. A friend told me about Essence Mascara's when I asked her what she used as her lashes always look so beautiful. I use both of these products. I use the Sculpted Volume first and then the False Lash Effect last. I have liked the results and the price is awesome. I bought mine from Ultra but you can buy these products from Amazon. They are around $5 each.

This is not a very clear picture but I really like the Revlon Color Stay cream shadows. They come in so many different colors and are the only eyeshadows I use. I like the CREAM especially for us older women because it doesn't cake up and crease. I have several different colors. Goes on good and stays on. I purchase mine from Walgreens and try to catch them when it's buy one for regular price and get another one for half price. They usually run around $8.00 but you can also order from Amazon for around the same price.

The brush is located on the bottom of the shadow and makes it easy to apply.

Awe...the paddle brush! I have always used my fingers to apply my foundation. Tried using the sponges but decided to try a paddle brush. Honestly, I did not think I would like it but found a set on Amazon that came with two paddle brushes and 4 regular makeup brushes for around $9 so decided to give them a try. LOVE the paddle brush for foundation.  Amazon has a good selection and very good prices.

The last product I will share is the E.L.F. Hydrating face primer. I like a lot of the E.L.F. products and not just because of the price. I love the way this feels on my face and actually feel as though my foundation goes on more evenly. You can purchase this on Amazon as well but I buy it locally from Walmart for $6.

Well, I take it back...one more product since I mentioned foundation. I love the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Total Cover Foundation. The coverage is good and long lasting. Once again, you can purchase from Amazon but I buy it from Walgreen or Walgreen. Runs around $11-$12.

 Now girls, I didn't say any of these products make me look any better but they sure make me feel better. LOL! What is a product or two that you really love?

Even little girls love makeup!

I hope that you all have a great week and asking you all to keep me in prayer as the next eye surgery is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 4th. Specific request: Surgery successful with no complications. That both eyes will communicate with one another very soon. That healing process will go smoothly. Thank you all for your good thoughts, prayers and private messaging me. They have meant so very much. Praying friends are the best kind of friends.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. Jeepers, that is all greek to me, but I love it that you love those products. I use simple stuff...Cover girl clean liquid makeup, Avon eyebrows and mascara, and I don't know what brand my current eye shadow is. I bought one at the Dollar General that has several different colors. and I use a cream blush from Avon, and Avon lipsticks. That's it. Wash my face with a goat milk lavender homemade soap (with lots of essential stuff in it) that a lady I know makes. Oh, and I use St. Ives renew lotion on my face. I've tried to use other special creams, etc., but I am very sensitive to scented products and have to have unscented stuff. Now that I don't work I just keep it as simple as I can and still try to look presentable. And wearing a mask when we go out rubs off the lipstick anyway...Oh well...learning to smile more with my eyes. Praying for your next eye surgery, that it will be successful in every way. May the Lord be with you and keep you safe and at peace throughout the whole ordeal. (((hugs)))

    1. LOL! Pam, these things I use are about as simple as simple can be. I love Avon too. But I must admit I usually buy jewelry. It seems to be a weakness since they have so much pretty jewelry now. I am very sensitive as well to scented products. I have to be very careful for sure. Thank you for your prayers.

  2. Cindy, I will definitely be lifting up my sweet new friend in prayer. And will be thinking positively that all will go just as you want. Girl, you and I are a lot of like! I use that same mascara, that same paddle brush (have a whole set), and love E.L.F. products! I'm not one to spend $20+ on makeup...although I am willing to spend a little more on skin care (but still within reason). I have found (along with a lot of youtubers) that drugstore products can be equal to those high priced brands!!!! Would you believe my favorite eye shadow pallet for awhile now has been one by LA Girls that I got at $Tree for $1.00!!!! My hubby and son say I'm cheap...I prefer frugal!!! Can't wait to hear about all your positive results from your surgeries!!!

  3. Thanks for your suggestions! It is good to share our experiences of products and makeup can be so expensive. Most of the products I use have been at the suggestion of family and friends. My mascara choice is Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal, it really plumps up my little lashes. I'm still looking for a good concealer for the dark circles under my eyes. Any suggestions?? I will be praying for you this week as you go through your next eye surgery! I know God will keep you safe and in His loving care! Blessings, dear friend! Zenda

    1. Years ago I had such a time with eyes swelling and to come to find out I had to change mascara's as I was using Maybelline mascara at the time. Used Cover girl for years and never had a problem. I haven't had much problem with dark circles but I do buy a concealer and use it primary on my eye lids as a base or primer and I have been using E.L.F . Thank you for praying.

  8. HAHA....like me, you mix the cheaper better stuff with the stuff that cost more! Same with my jewelry! Unlike Dolly Parton I don't consider myself as looking cheap but I totally love her and that saying, "it cost a lot to look this cheap"!!!!....haha. I have a friend that has sent me makeup for Christmas a couple of times, the stuff that I would not buy myself cause of the cost!! I find things that don't cost that much but stay on great. I have always used my fingers...tried the sponges and did not like them, went back to the fingers. Might have to give the brush myself. I am always looking for great mascara. I love BLACK, I love the ones that make my lashes LONG... I worked with a lady that always talked about my lashes and how long they were, she said they fluttered. She would take her hands and hold them out, then move her fingers like they were fluttering....silly lady!!! This gives me a great idea to blog about my makeup...thanks for the idea! You rock!! Girls look adorable playing makeup. Now to hand them down some dress up clothes. Also, need pics of you wearing the makeup!! haha

    1. I mix and match everything. LOL! I love hearing what others use too. I did not think I would like the paddle but really do. I tried the eye shadow paddle with another eye color but did not like it. Thankfully I love the cream eye shadows by Revlon and they have the built in brush. Believe me, those two grandgirls has lots of dress up clothes too. They love dressing up.

Those paddle brushes sound cool. I haven't seen them before. Thank you for all of the tips. I will check out the primer and foundation. Sending prayers for February 4th!

  13. Thank you for dropping by and the lovely birthday wishes. I have sensitive skin also and I appreciate your suggestions. I love Bare Minerals anything. I can't wear a lot of brands for eyes but over the years Merle Norman shadow and a few others always makes me feel good. I liked that about your post because I love makeup but if it doesn't make me feel good, it's useless. I never heard of a paddle brush. I love to learn new things. The photos made me smile! Six year old Amy always wants her nails polished when she visits me!!! You are a gem, Cindy, with so much pizazz. Love you, girl.

    1. So glad you had a great birthday. I enjoyed your pictures. I have had some pretty pricy eye shadows before, purchased and gifted to me and disliked the way they felt and looked on me. So, my Revlon works great for me. We used to have a Merle Norman distributer in my area and I always bought lipstick from her. Yep, those little grands of mine like to have their nails polished too.

  16. When I was working as a nurse, I didn't do much with cosmetics. Being retired, I've just gotten lazy. I use Arbonne for skin care but looking for something less expensive when my product runs out. I use lip stick, an eyebrow pencil and some times blush. I use a powder foundation as well. But I'm sure hit or miss! Sorry to be so lazy visiting. My latest blog post might explain why.

    1. I will have to look up Arbonne. I don't think I have ever heard of that product. I like trying new products but mercy they can get expensive. I do love makeup though, especially lipstick! LOL! My granny used to tell me that if I didn't put anything else on to put my lips on cause it would always make me feel better. She loved her lipstick too. Hopping over to see you now girl.

    I will definitely give this mascara a whirl as I am also currently using two different mascaras to get the 'Umph," that I looking for. My oldest daughter uses magnetic eyelashes and I keep saying I am going to get them, and then I don't.
    I will be thinking of you and praying for you sweet friend as you prepare and go through your next eye surgery.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
