Hello dear blogging friends. Hope you all had a great weekend. Despite one eye healing and one bad eye, I am still keeping up with life as normal as I can and much appreciative to those who have reached out to me to assure me...I will feel normal soon. It's great to know others will pray for you and especially to hear from those that have felt the struggle because it's truly real.
When the 4 year old granddaughter wanted Chocolate cake well, of course I whipped up a batch of chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing topped with chocolate chips. I hear chocolate is really good to help your eyes heal from surgery too......
The oldest granddaughter carried me back to the eye doctor and of course I treated her to lunch. It is a good feeling to know I have a grand with drivers license now! LOL!
We went to watch my favorite grandson....my only grandson, play basketball with our church team over the weekend. It was a treat to have his great-grandfather there too.
Finished up the last of my homemade soup my daughter Melissa made for me. I could eat soups all year long. I told y'all I was milking this eye healing thing and it's working.....
This sweet grand got her first hair cut this past week and she done so good. She's our baby in the family and our baby is becoming a little girl now.
And just so you all know cause I have some bragging rights here...I made the popular GON (Georgia Outdoor News) magazine. I went ahead and autographed Marty's copy for him. Hee-hee. I think my tribe is about tired of hearing about my buck.
This grandgirl went on Pheasant hunt with her dad and uncle over the weekend and had a ball. She harvested two and loved it. She said she may have found a new hobby she likes now. She meant ANOTHER Hobby!
You know friends, life isn't a cupcake for sure but I am surely going take all the sweetness I can get from life and enjoy it. I hope that you all have a great week and that your days are filled with a sweetness from our Lord because HIS sweetness is better than any cupcake you will ever eat.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Hi Cindy, what happened to your eyes? I hope you are okay! How cool that you made the cover of the magazine! I can't believe how grown up your little grand daughter looks. I remember when you posted her picture when she was newborn and she had lots of dark hair. My son that just turned 40 had blonde curls as a toddler. It turned dark brown. I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI posted about on my Country Winter Tablescape. Cataract surgery. You know, the surgery everyone says, "Oh it's simple". Nothing simple when it's US! LOL! I am doing well. Be glad when next one is over and both eyes return to normal or normal as can be.
DeleteSo glad your eye is healing...and that you are being taken good care of. Such cute grandkids...aren't grands just the grandest???? Love my two so much and enJOY them so much. You would fit right in with my guys who love to hunt...you bagged a really good buck. I sometimes go hunting with hubby but have never learned to shoot. I almost made cupcakes today too! We certainly have a lot in common. God bless you and yours...we need Him more than ever these days.
ReplyDeleteWe could become hunting buddies girl. I can't wait for next eye surgery to be over and behind me so I can do some target practicing. The cupcakes were a hit for sure. Thank you for praying.
DeleteI hope your eye feels better soon. That's what I found after cataracts were removed from my eyes maybe 2 years ago. Your grands are all busy doing 'stuff' just like their gran. The littlest with her first haircut is so photogenic. She looks adorable no matter what.
ReplyDeleteThank you GM. I am hanging in there. The joy of the Lord is my strength. That little one is one hot mess too! LOL!
DeleteWhat a cheery post, Cindy! I studied the background of the picture of your granddaughter's lunch with you. Looks like you dined at maybe Bono's BBQ, or Sonny's, perhaps? (no need to answer that, by the way)
ReplyDeleteLooking for all the sweetness we can glean out of life -- that's a positive attitude, for sure.
I'm praying the remainder of your recovery from eye surgery goes well.
Thank you Barbara. We actually had lunch at Cedar River Seafood and of course she wanted chicken fingers. Nana on the other hand had grilled shrimp. LOL!
DeleteAgain, I’m sorry I’m behind on my reading. Keeping you in my prayers! It’s such a blessing to be near your family and they seem to be taking very good care of you. That soup looks delicious; I could eat soup all year long, too. Those cupcake look delicious! I hope you kept a few for “medicinal purposes!” Happy week, dear Cindy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your prayers Zenda. God is surely taking care of me along with my family. YEP, I am afraid the cupcakes were gone in no time! LOL!
DeleteI'm glad to hear your eye is recovering. That soup looks so good! It's so nice to see pics of your beautiful family! All of that food looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather Lou.
DeleteCindy, when you get through the eye surgeries and healing time, you will be so glad to be able to see. I feel like everything is now so colorful and beautiful since my cataract surgeries last year. The cupcakes and soup look delicious. I always enjoy your family photos. Take care!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. Your message came at just the right moment for me this morning.
DeleteIm praying for your beautiful eyes, Cindy, and I’m thankful that you’re keeping on going! I know you’ll be happy when the other eye is done. How wonderful to be pampered and waited on. Congratulations on being honored in the magazine!! I always love seeing pics of your family and your food! Gracious, but I want a cupcake! Love and hugs to you, my friend (and prayers!).
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Kitty. God is good to us isn't He by allowing us to pray for others. Love that you pray for me. Yes girl...I have enjoyed the pampering for sure and really have enjoyed rubbing in the buck picture to Marty and the soninloves. LOL!
DeleteWow! You are famous! Well done on the deer and your photo in the magazine! WOW! That's a big deer for Florida! I hope your eyes are haling and getting better! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. I got that big boy in Georgia where we hunt. About 3 hours from home. Thanks for your prayers.
DeleteI came back here to show my hubby your big buck! I hope you don't mind! heeheehee! And I see now that it is in Georgia! Well done my friend. I am so impressed! Take care and HEAL and feel better!
DeleteI don't mind at all.....LOL! We hunt in Ga but it's only about 3 hours away from where I live. I am having him mounted. He's going on my wall!
DeleteGood morning, Cindy! I'm praying for healing even as we speak. You model such a positive spirit and I'm-going-to-keep-on-celebrating life attitude through it all. And cupcakes and lunch out with a granddaughter?
ReplyDeleteBliss.
Oh Linda thank you so very much for praying healing over me. I appreciate it so very much.
DeleteGlad your eye is getting better. Your granddaughters are the cutest. Our baby grandgirl is getting to be a big girl too at 4 years old. They grow up to fast. Have a great new week ahead. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteThanks Kris. Those kiddos surely do grow up too quickly.
DeleteHad to come back for another comment...didn't know if you would go back to my blog to read my reply to yours. So...how did you become a GA Bulldog fan when you live in FL???
ReplyDeleteI have to say that our team is GA SOUTHERN UNIV. EAGLES...our alma mater, our son's alma mater, and hopefully our grandson will be going there after next year! Wanted to tell you too (in case you didn't know) that you can actually have your blog turned into a book. As I have read on other blogs, some bloggers do it every year. I haven't done it yet but keep telling myself I should. I have this horror of one day my whole blog will float off into cyberspace never to be seen again! It did that one time (and I about had a heart attack), but somehow it came back...thank goodness!
I did not know that Cheri about turning your blog into a book. What a great idea! Now doing it is another thing.....I lived in Ga for years but wasn't far from the Florida line. Then a dang Florida boy stole my heart at age 16. Married that Florida boy at age 18. Been a Florida girl with a Georgia heart ever since.
DeleteThe cupcakes, fried chicken, and fries are making me salivate! I can't even recall the last time I had fried chicken...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the media mention!
Marty can fry the best chicken Margie and now I am wanting him to fry me some. He fries it outside in a big pot and girl.....talk about making them lips smack! LOL!
DeleteAw! Congratulations on your magazine feature! So wonderful to catch up with you today, sweet friend. Many blessings to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl. Blessings to you and yours as well.
DeleteSorry to read you're not feeling well; praying for you, Cindy. I have to have the cataract surgery this year. Thank you for talking about it here. Bless your wonderful family as they care for you!
ReplyDeleteI am feeling fine dear lady just struggling with one bad eye. But next surgery is a couple of weeks away and I know it will all be worth it. Counting on it.
DeleteI loved this post. I started to read it yesterday and got interrupted, so had to come back today and finish. Your sweet grandgirls are so precious...all of them. They are each so unique and beautiful. Oh, that soup looks so good! I love homemade vegetable soup. Hey, congratulations on making the news! You are amazing. I do hope your eyes are getting better by now. And those cupcakes look SO inviting. May I have one, please? Of course the meal with your granddaughter looks great too. Wow. I always wish I could tag along with you...you have so much fun!! Thank you for sharing your life with us. We are blessed by knowing you and knowing that "The Joy of the Lord is your strength". Yes He is my strength too. So thankful. Take care dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. Yes, the Joy of the Lord is surely my strength.
DeleteThere is always something going on in your neck of the woods. I just can't keep up!
ReplyDeleteFrom cooking to cutting or even in the news.
LOL! Girl, I can barely keep up myself!
DeleteCindy, Your posts are so enjoyable! The cupcakes look so good!
ReplyDeleteI hope your eyes will heal quickly and all will be well.
I'm always glad to see your family and all the activities.
Congratulations on making the magazine cover! That is exciting.
Thanks Bonnie. Hope you and family are staying healthy.
DeleteCindy, so glad you're doing well after your surgery. I had both eyes done a few years ago, sure did help my vision. I dreaded it, the thought of them messing with my eyes was so scary for me. I'm surprised to say, I didn't even realized they had done anything until it was over. Prayers for continued healing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Miss Mary. Yes, the first surgery was a piece of cake....it's the trying to adapt with one good eye and one bad eye that is the issue. Next surgery coming in Feb. though. Then I will be good to go.
DeleteYes, I haven't had cataract surgery yet but Hubby and lots of my friends have and they all are so happy with the results. I always enjoy seeing your family pics! Happy healing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea. Have a great day.
DeleteAWESOME on the magazine!!! BRAG, BRAG, and cont to BRAG! I am sorry about the eye, but all things heal and it will too. I have not had to deal with the cataract surgery but Mom did and I remember the eye drops and how often they have to be put in. You will rock this. You have the most adorable kids and grands...
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. Yes, those eye drops.........
DeleteHope you have a great day.
Dearest Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI tell you that buck is something else. When you posted a photo of you with it on Facebook, I grabbed my hubby and showed him and he was super impressed, as am I! You are tiny but mighty in so many ways!
I am sorry you are dealing with post-cataract surgery but I do hear from other gals that you are going to love seeing the world with your knew eyes.
You and your posts always make me smile and brighten my days too!
Hugs and Blessings,
Jemma
Awe...thanks Jemma for your sweet words. You are precious.
DeleteSo glad to hear your eye is doing better. I think that it is great you all know how to hunt. What an honor to be featured in the magazine with your buck! How long does the meat last you? Do you also hunt pheasants? Do you have to have a license for them?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Ashley
Thanks Ashely. We process our own meat and it lasts a long time but then again...we eat lots of venison. I love it! My grandgirl and two SIL was gifted a pheasant hunt for Christmas so I am not sure what that involved with license. We whitetail deer hunt in GA so yes on the license and it's not cheap for non residents. But, that is our enjoyment as a family. Hope you are doing well dear one.
