{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Thankful For His Many Wonderful Deeds}

Puerto Rico

I hope that you have had a lovely weekend and day today. Our family enjoyed worshipping together this morning and then enjoyed another wonderful Sunday dinner with lots of chit-chatting. Y'all, I surely do not take it for granite that we are blessed to be able to have our children and grandchildren nearby and that we can have Sunday dinner together. The Lord is surely good to me. We enjoyed hearing all about our granddaughter Raygen's mission trip to Puerto Rico and loved looking at the many pictures she took. She said that she was so glad that she went and would go on another mission trip but she was glad to come home. There's no place like home.

She learned how to seal a roof along with many other things. She said she didn't know a thing about sealing a roof but now she does! LOL!

Thank you to all that prayed for her. I do appreciate it.

My "favorite" grandson was super excited needless to say when Papa gave him an old shot gun that he has had for some 35-40 years. Our grandson collects knives of any kind, shape or color and guns. I have a feeling that he will have the old shot gun shining like new money before long.

Our granddaughter's Mallory and Kyleigh gifted us today with new coffee mugs. YES, we will use them tonight to try them out. A pot of coffee is waiting for me to hit the BREW button right now.

And of course we had another batch of fun food for our Friday evening sit by the pond. I did do a little baking of muffins to freeze for our upcoming family beach trip and fried venison was calling my name Saturday afternoon.

As we come to the end of June I was looking at my little flip calendar that each month holds a special picture. Most of the months are filled with family pictures from 2020 and I so enjoy this picture calendar that sits on my desk in my home office. But today when I was looking at it I reminded by the picture with God's Word to be Thankful for all things. I have friends that only wish to have their spouse much less the fun foods and talks.  Not everyone has the chance to see and talk to their family daily much less live close by and be able to see one another often and fellowship together. Not everyone has the opportunity to see a beautiful mountain view or experience the sounds of the ocean.  I was reminded today that YES INDEED, I will give thanks to YOU, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

May your week be one that you find many reasons to be thankful for so many things and people.

It's the simple things in life that bring the greatest pleasure.

 Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. Thank you for the report on Raygen's mission trip to Puerto Rico. The Lord brought her to mind several times last week and I took that as a reminder to pray for her. I'm glad she took advantage of the opportunity to make the trip and am also glad she is back!

    Your grandson --was he taller than your husband the last time you shared a picture of him?!!! What a fine-looking young man, and he's about such manly things!

    And thank you for thinking of people like me in your last paragraph. Your prayers for those in my season of life are appreciated and answered. I pray for you, too, Cindy. You bring such cheer to all of us with your blog.

  10. So happy that Raygen's mission trip was a success and that she enjoyed the work she was doing for the Lord. What a blessing to have that opportunity and to help make a difference in those people's lives. They've had such a hard time in recent years especially with hurricanes, etc., so I am sure waterproofing a roof is a very important mission! And yes, your "favorite grandson" is growing taller and handsomer every time we see him. We need to see him more often! Our grandson also collects knives...he inherited his daddy's knife collection, which our son was very proud of. We had contributed some special knives to that collection, so we are happy that our grandson Noah is now enjoying it as well. Yes, we do have so much to be thankful for, don't we? God has been so very gracious unto us and gives us new blessings every day...the gift of LIFE! So very thankful. I enjoyed your post...and those mugs are wonderful!!! Such thoughtful grand-girls! Enjoy and be blessed.

  12. Oh, Cindy! You are so right!! We need to count EVERY blessing God gives us! This past year has given me pause to really FIND and APPRECIATE those blessings. I look back now at how thankful I was to be able to mow my yard or work in my gardens, to share an 'at home movie" or tv show with my husband, to be able to drive over and visit our grandson and his parents! Even when things are at low points, we need to take time to look for God's blessings. He loves us so much and is with us through it all! Wishing you a wonderful week, dear friend! Zenda

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
