{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{It's Almost August}

 Hello Sweet Sunday Afternoon! Where in the world has July went? In a few more days we will be venturing into August and I feel the summer is passing quickly. I want to say that several have pointed out blogger issues from me. Some of you are getting that I am a non-reply blogger. I have no clue why. Some of you are not able to see my pictures that I post and I have no clue why. I have had so many issues lately with blogger. Any old ways I will try again today and we shall see what happens. You should be able to find my little old blog over at www.bloglovin.com too. Just type in Creationsbycindy in the search box.

What have you ate good lately? We let me say that we have ate quiet well this week. I whipped Marty and I up a Chicken Fajita bowl this week served over brown rice. It was so good and favorable.

I took some leftover breakfast bacon and made myself a BLT using fresh tomatoes out of my garden. YEP, more tomatoes than bacon I think. But oh so good.

Of course I had to have a little fried vension one night with some fried potatoes, squash, okra and fresh tomatoes.

And what would Friday evening at Conner's pond be without a little fun food! So, I whipped up some spicy shrimp tacos with mango salsa. Let me just tell you....these things were so good.

Thank the lord for small containers. I love my little containers.

One thing we do around my house well and that is eat!

My new yoga blocks came in last week and just in time to help me burn off some of those calories I consumed. LOL!

I am a fan of Dee Henderson and Francine Rivers and if you have not read these books and like to read then they are a must. I love Terri Blackstock too!

If you have a Buc-ee's nearby and have not went then you need to make at least one trip.

They have anything and everything you can imagine. But...my favorite is the brisket sandwich. When we went it was a little crowded so we didn't linger. Not much into crowds these days especially since our numbers are sky high with the current Covid situation.

Nope I didn't buy Buc-ee the bear but I did find me some good snacks. Their veggie straws are so good!

So, since August is about to find it's way to us what are your plans for August? Any last minute summer fun? Of course in Florida we use the phrase summer lightly. Summer temps have been known to generate through September-October here. For us there always seems to be something going on but on a note of what's on my agenda well, I plan to continue to harvest okra a little longer. We have been blessed with fresh veggies this summer. Will be getting my ground ready for Fall Sunflowers and finishing up  with my tomatoes this week. Pickings are far and few between right now. Marty and I plan to take a weekend retreat back to the beach and I will be gearing up to lead Fall Ladies Bible Study unless the Lord intervenes. I will be pulling out my bow and arrow to practice some since Bow season begins for us in September. We hunt in Georgia but thankfully it's only a three hour drive.  We will also celebrate our youngest daughter's birthday in late August. What about you?

 As I close today I want to tell you that I pray so often for so many far and near. We have so many in our area that has just recently lost their lives to this nasty virus that seems to have reared it's ugly head ever so more. We have friends of our children in the hospital now fighting. And, as many of you may know if you are friends with Jann from haveadailycup that she just lost her son, 45 years old due to a heart attack. Let's bind together and pray for healing, strength, and encouragement. We all need healing in our lives from one thing or another. We all need strength that can only come from God. But, we can all be a source of encouragement to another soul.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

P.S. Please let me know if you have problems viewing pictures on my blog post.

  1. No problems viewing anything here. Not sure what's going on with it. It seems fine to me. Praying for those suffering grief or pain or sickness. So very sorry for the dear one who lost her son to a heart attack at 45. That is too young for a heart attack you would think. So very sorry for her and their family. I lost a son at age 41 to cancer, and that was too young too. There is never a good age to lose a child. Praying for her now. No big plans yet for us. Our oldest son will turn 50 in August. Not sure yet about a party/etc. We shall see how people are faring at that time with crowds, etc. I hate to think we will have to go back into masks and/or some kind of lock down again. That would be tragic. But we don't want to see people sick and dying either. Praying for our nation and all concerned. I hope you have a blessed and wonderful week. I enjoy your posts so much.

    1. I think of you often Pam with loosing your son to cancer. Lord bless you and keep you so close to Himself. I just can't imagine nor do I pray I never have too. Yes, we are praying for so many. It has been crazy at the younger folks now getting so sick and some have lost their battles. Praying for two younger men right now to heal! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs.

  2. Cindy,
    Thanks so much for stopping by!! No problems with any pictures here...I was reading that Florida and now Vegas are hot spots ....I feel that the masking mandate should have never been rescinded....I still wear one whenever I go out even though I am fully vaccinated. My family Dr. predicted that there would be another surge in the Fall but that was before the mask mandates were rescinded....As more people are gathering in crowds, cases are surging....Sorry to hear that your children have friends that are in the hospital now.....Hospital cases are up everywhere which is what I watch and what concerns me....We can not over tax our healthcare systems to the brink of collapse.......That is when restrictions will be imposed again if there are signs of that happening...Sending prayers for you , your family and your friends.....
    Hugs,
    Deb

    1. Deb, we've had some friends that their surgeries have been put on hold as they have no room for them. As of right now 93-98% of those hospitalized have not had vaccine according to health dept. Join me as I pray for so many.

  3. You make such great looking food ( and no doubt it tastes as good as it looks!).
    Yes, it's almost August but we'll continue to stay close to home and avoid crowds. No hardship for me since I'm such a homebody anyway.
    I've read several Dee Henderson books and they were hard to put down.
    Have a great week.

  4. Hi Cindy, I could see the pictures fine today and now I am hungry but it is to late to eat. The venison looks so good! I am up watching the Olympics after checking to see if all 4 grands are asleep. Hubby gets up with them for breakfast. I have never grown sunflowers but would like to try. So you live in Florida? No wonder you get to the beach so often! It is sad to see how Covid is coming back with this new variant. I won't be surprised if we have to go back to the mask. I still wear mine when I go to a super busy indoor place. I love Francine Rivera and have read several of her books. I use to read a lot but now I am busy with my different Bible journal studies that include crafting. Sorry about your friend that lost her son at only 45. Enjoy your week!

    1. Thanks Susan for coming by. I love your bible journaling. I always wear a mask in crowded areas. Hate then but don't trust others to stay home sick either. have a good day.

  5. I did notice that your comments were 'no-reply commenter" lately. Do you ever view blog from another device? Sometimes that is why you show up as a no-reply. That food all looks tasty. Love some fun food by the pond! Little containers are the best. Yoga blocks are a lifesaver for me! We don't have any big plans for August..some house projects and day trips will probably be it for us. I can't believe it's almost here. I'm so sorry to hear about the losses and sad news.

    1. I think that might be the issue with blog with different devices. It is crazy but I can see why more and more bloggers like myself that blog for mere entertainment purpose/friendship/life journal aspects are now going to private groups among those blogging friends on FB and instagram. Food by the pond is always yummy. Yoga blocks are working out well.

  6. Cindy, I am thankful to be able to report I've had no problems with accessing your blog at all. I hope the issues others have had smooth out soon.

    The new Buckee's on I-95 must have opened! We saw the news about it coming and then some of the construction early on when we were still making so many trips between Jax and Ocala. I haven't been over in that area for at least a year now. I've been to the Buckee's in Alabama (near Pensacola) and also the one in Denton, Texas. They are, indeed, worth the stop!!

    You are in my prayers, as well. I need to pray for my friends who encourage me to be cheerful so that blessing continues! We all need cheerleaders in our lives and you are definitely one for me!

    1. I am so glad that we had the change to stop in at Buc-ee's but I must agree with Marty. It really was too crowded. We didn't linger long. Would love to go back another day maybe when the crowd shortens up some. I did find a top that I bought that was actually higher prices at Dicks Sporting goods. Brisket sandwich is very good!

  7. Summer is flying by. All your food looks so yummy. I see your pictures just fine. If you google how to fix on blogger being a no reply it will tell you how to do that. I know you go into your settings and make sure you check that you want your emails attached on your comments. Every so often it will have to be reset for some reason. Blogger is always doing something to mess things up!!!!

  8. Your yummy food is making me hungry!!! Last weekend, I had bulgogi (Korean-style beef) taco and Kimchi fries. It was soooo good!

    I was able to reply to your comment and see your profile photo on this week's post on my blog.

    On the one hand, I want the long summer days to last forever. But I'm also excited for fall because it's one of my favourite seasons!

    I'm sorry to hear about about the new wave of cases...Unfortunately, Delta will find the unvaccinated, so hopefully people are doing what they can to protect themselves and their community from this nasty virus.

  9. Hi Cindy! I saw your pictures perfectly. What great meals you’ve had, and will continue to have with all your fresh veggies. I haven’t been to Buc-ees in so long! I was saddened to hear about Jann’s son dying from a heart attack. He was way to young. Prayers for Jann and her family.
    Take care, my friend, as you gear up for August. Blessings to you.

  10. Sorry about the blog issues, I haven't had any trouble on my visits...It looks like you've been cooking up some yummy stuff! I am not happy summer is flying by, my favorite season, but I do love fall and football. I haven't been to Buc-ees yet, but I have heard about the brisket sandwich and I hear it is a treasure trove of fun stuff! The covid spikes are scary and I hope we don't have to mask up again and that things won't close or shut down...stay safe and well and thanks for the prayers for so many...

  11. Cindy, I am sorry for my tardiness in reading. I haven’t had any problems seeing your posts and pictures. Hopefully you can resolve the issues. I would definitely say you eat well at your house. I am so sad for Jann, such a terrible loss and I am praying for them. Wishing you a wonderful week filled with lots of good food!

  12. So pleased I could see all of your pictures today, as the food looks very tasty.

    Hasn't the year gone quickly, so hard to believe it will soon be August.
    We hope to be spending time with some of the grandchildren as it's school holiday times and our Covid restrictions have eased (at the moment!)

    Take care, my good wishes.

    All the best Jan

Who says BAPTIST don't dance? LOL!

  15. I am afriad that COVID is not anywhere finished with us. We are doing pretty good in Nash but there can change in a heartbeat. Had a friend, nurse, had the shot right at the beginning of the shots that spent two weeks in the hosp from this mess. I love food but this time of yr I have a lot of issues with my tummy. Never fails the IBS kicks up when it gets hot so I am pretty much to the point that I don't even want to eat.

  16. My prayer list keeps growing and growing...and that's ok...and when I can't remember names, I am sure the good Lord knows whom I am speaking of...sometimes when the names don't come-the faces do...so yes, HE knows. The days here in western NY have been hot and humid...it seems summer is just hanging on longer than usual. I hope you have a beautiful upcoming week. smiles

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
