{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{A Few Amazon Finds and Tidbits}

 Good afternoon to all. Hope this finds you all doing well this Sunday afternoon. I am actually seeing a little sun today after many days of rain. Not sure we won't get more rain today. My dirt is SURE WET y'all. I wanted to share a few things I've purchased lately from good old Amazon Prime. I have several friends that post their Amazon prime deals and I enjoy them so much. Here's a few things I have enjoyed.

We have an ORION and we love using it especially when we are grilling large sums of meat or large turkeys, racks of ribs and etc. FAST and EASY. These gloves have surely been a lifesaver from getting burned. Marty uses to them to lift our meats out with ease. These ovens mitts can stand high heat and perfect to use with any kind of grilling. Of course the bear claws are my favorite for pulling pork and chicken.

We have had our Orion for a long time and I purchased it from Bass Pro shop. They are now cheaper than they used to be but we have cooked all sorts of thing on it. Very good for cooking meats and especially when feeding a big family like ours.

I like the long phone charging cords so found this set of 4, 2 charging blocks and 2 charging cords, 10 feet in length on Amazon. Perfect for me so I can sit in my recliner and charge my phone while using it.

Fast Wireless Charger, Wireless Phone Charger Stand, 15W Max Fast Charging and Google Pixel Stand for iPhone 12/12Pro/SE/11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max/XR/Xs Max/XS/,...

I also enjoy this wireless cordless I Phone charger. When I am at home and in no hurry I use it a lot.

I have really enjoyed this yoga mat bag. I used it a lot on the beach. It holds a mat, keys, cell phone, water bottle and a small neck towel. I store my mat in it at home but it's great to be able to hold your workout mat and carry it with you. Hope when cool weather gets here I can use it outside a lot.

I made a little trip to our local Dollar tree with two of the grands and found these cute little wooden pumpkins with initials on them for my three daughters. (last name initials)

So stinking cute aren't they?

Our five year old granddaughter got to have her nails done for the first time professionally. I think she may be hooked now!

And last but not least...You guessed it! Our Friday night "Fun Food" by Conner's Pond.

I will close out with this today as I have found this to be so very true.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and enjoy each day that the Lord gives to you.

  3. What fun to visit here! You always have the most interesting things to see and learn about. Those bear claws look interesting...so you use them to pull pork? I might need to get some of those. Love the yoga mat bag, even though I don't use such a mat, it's a nice bag anyway! And the little pumpkins are adorable. I've been wanting to make a trip to the Dollar Tree lately...so they much have their fall stuff out now...okay, time to go check it out. And your little pumpkin sweetheart is just adorable, getting her nails done already! What a doll!! Someday I am going to get a professional pedicure...I am past due for one, but have never had either a manicure or pedicure. I don't have pretty nails so I don't try to show them off, but I always admire others. You girls know how to have so much fun!! Loved this post! Have a happy week.

  4. That last graphic says so much. All you have shared with us here is good (and fun and pretty and useful) but this observation about disposition is what spoke to me the most. Thanks for giving it to us.

  7. I love seeing purchases from Amazon, Cindy. It’s fun to see what other friends find that’s useful. Your little granddaughter’s nails look so pretty. My daughter and I were looking at Cissy’s first manicure pictures just yesterday, when she was that age.

  8. Oooh, those pumpkins from Dollar Tree are adorable! When I couldn't go shopping, I got my dollar store fix by watching vloggers share their DT hauls and "shop with me" videos on YouTube. I have a few fall-themed DT items on my wish list, but my local DT don't have them yet...

    1. With our local Dollar Tree if you see something you really like and want then you best hurry and get it. A sales clerk told me once that their dishes sell very quickly because they get pretty ones in and of course...a dollar! LOL! Also that their seasonal decor goes quickly. Love me some Dollar Tree.

  14. Cindy, thanks for all of these great recommendations! It's hard sometimes to decide if I should order something from Amazon. Prime makes it pretty easy to return things if they don't meet the expectation but if a friend recommends something, I feel more confident ordering. I bet your granddaughter is going to want to have those nails done again very soon! Ha! Wishing you all a blessed week!! Zenda

    1. Yes prime makes it easier for sure to send back. I have only had to send something back twice. I have got to where I order a lot of my Christmas from Prime. Especially about the time COVID hit. But, I am funny about ordering clothing from amazon. Always afraid it won't fit.

  15. My granddaughter who is 8 loves to have her nails painted, but she does it with her mommy, wow yours is going to be expensive!! I love Amazon prime, and what a godsend it was during Covid!

We love seafood so every time you post shrimp, I am wanting son. Funny about the fans. We pack travel fans in our suitcases when we travel. Hey, sleep is important right! :)

  17. Aw, your little granddaughter is just so precious showing off those nails!! She is just adorable! I always love catching up with you, sweet friend, and so appreciate you and your beautiful blog. When I saw your shrimp on your little goodie tray, it made me think of the low country in SC and a sauce they make that they dip shrimp in - I wanted to share it with you in case you want to try it. It is so simple - one cup of ketchup, one cup of mayonnaise, one cup of sugar, and 1/2 cup of mustard. Just stir together and serve it as a shrimp dip. It is amazing! Sending hugs and blessings your way today!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
