Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
I Hope you've all had a great weekend. I sure have. I had a short weekend with my youngest daughter and her two girls hunting, shopping and drinking coffee but it was so nice for a quick getaway. Always good when time is spent with family.
This little thing is a hot mess. She finds this spot in Belk's and says, "take my picture Nana". Mercy, mercy.
I did find me a pair of comfortable cute booties. YAY!The girl's daddy carried them on their first hunt to let them sit to see how they would do. This one decided she would pose for the camera.
But, she sorta gave up the idea of looking for a deer soon.
I came back home from a short weekend hunting trip with what seemed like I had one hundred things I needed to do, you know, wash the hunting clothes, unload the dish washer, yada, yada, yada. But, I had not taken the time to go to the grocery store and wanted something hot and filling to eat. THEN I REMEMBERED! I had made homemade pot pies a few months back and decided to freeze some small containers of pot pie. YAY....FREEZER to the rescue.
I am enjoying my Christmas dining room table. Love the plaids. I am not sure If I have ever shared with you all but my dining room table is old. My grandfather built it for me. I wanted farm house style all those many years ago and still love farmhouse style to this day. I do plan on recovering my benches one day. Maybe when I retire......
I ordered a new tree for my living room this year. Can't wait to get it up.
Since I put up a tree in the corner in the dining room where I normally keep my little white chair, I decided to move the chair and still decorate it.
I had this cute Christmas box that was given to me last Christmas with a gift inside. Decided to use the box for the chair and then I used the lid for another piece of decor. I will have to show that to you next time.
I was gifted the ladder stand last Christmas and I have sure enjoyed decorating it several different ways.
I just love Christmas decor. Nothing better than sitting in my chair at night looking at the Christmas magic.
And of course....Christmas socks makes things nicer!
I hope that you all have a wonderful week and enjoy each day the Lord gives to you.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Oh, I love all of your beautiful decorations. I put out a little plaid this morning. I have 2 red sofas in the living room so plaid works so good. Love your little hunter...how adorable!
ReplyDeleteThank you mam. I love the plaids. My little huntress was one tired little girl. LOL!
DeleteYour home is FULL of Christmas beauty already. I love getting into decorating nice and early too. The season goes by so quickly we have to try to slow down and enjoy every bit of it.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me. I love my table my papa built. Has brought me much joy over the years.
DeleteI'm loving your black plaid and red-themed Christmas decor! Can't wait to see the new tree!
ReplyDeleteI started putting up some of my decor, including my Santa teawares, last weekend. I hope to put up the big tree this coming weekend!
Thanks Margie. Can't wait to see your Santa teawares. I Love Santa! I had to finally tell myself this year NOT to buy anymore Santa! LOL!
DeleteYour decorations are so pretty! What a special table you have built by your grandfather. That pot pie looked perfect. I love having stuff like that in my freezer for returning from a busy weekend or trip. Your granddaughters are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Heather Lou. Girl, that Pot Pie saved me that day! LOL!
DeleteOh, it is all so beautiful! We put our tree up a couple of weeks or so ago, too. I think we are all very anxious for Christmas cheer this year - I think I said something like that here before, come to think of it. Do you and your family watch The Chosen? We LOVE that show. You can watch it free at this link: https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen/watch
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, what started the whole show was a short Christmas movie Dallas Jenkins made for his church. Here is a link to that, in case you haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paOjgZZDads
It will definitely get everyone in the mood for Christmas if they watch that show! God is so good to all of us. I am so happy He allowed all of us to live to see another beautiful Christmas season. Sending love and hugs your way today, sweet friend.
Thank you Cheryl. We all surely have needed some early Christmas cheer haven't we? Thanks for the site for the Chosen. I was going to order the DVD'S but haven't gotten around to it. I will check these sites out. God is surely a good, good, father. Hugs to you dear lady.
DeleteI remember the Belks store when I would visit my mom in Florida. Always cool things to find in that store. Your granddaughter is adorable. Glad you had such a great weekend. Love love love your dining room all decorated. Such a great story about the table. Happy New week. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteThanks Kris. When I go to Georgia to hunt with Marty I most often hit the Belks. They always have such great sales.
DeleteVERY cheery Christmas decorations!! You do so well with that! And lil' granddaughter snoozing in her chair -- that's so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas socks -- we've been having the nighttime temps for that now, haven't we? (Love it!!!)
Thanks for all the delightful pictures and inspiration!
Thanks Barbara. Christmas is my most favorite time of the year.
DeleteOh I am loving your Christmas decor! So much fun at your house!!! I love your socks and cozy living room attire. And those grandgirls are just the sweetest ever!!! Now I am wanting to start my Christmas decorating, but have to wait until after next week. But you are inspiring me in the meantime! Love it love it love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. Those grands are a pure delight for sure. Never a dull moment.
DeleteYour Christmas dining room looks so festive, I love your palette of black, white and red. My 2 youngest grands are always posing for pictures, I guess because they are used to us always taking pictures of them 😂 I wish I was organized enough to decorate for Christmas early, I have another friend that just told me yesterday that not only is her tree up, she has bought and wrapped all her presents!! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving next week, where will your family be gathering?
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks Jenna. We always have Thanksgiving with my husband's side of the family at his dad's house. I do hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
DeleteCindy, again your energy amazes me! Your decorations are darling and so festive and fun.
ReplyDeleteI love your little grandgirl posing on the packages in the store and asking you to make her picture. She has had lots of practice posing! Such a cutie!
Love your booties you found too. They look comfortable.
I wish I was all decorated. I am very slow!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving celebration.
Girl, I am so slow it seems and the older I get the slower I am. I am going to have to start decorating really early next year or cut back on some of the decor. I do not do NEARLY as much as I once did. But, I do love Christmas. I have gotten to wear those cute booties yet but they fit so nice. Have a good day Bonnie.
DeleteYour home is decorated for the holidays so beautifully! I’ve started decorating the outside of our house earlier this week and I’m so glad I did as it’s turned really chilly now. Glad you’ve were able to get some time in the woods and some time with your girls. Happy Thanksgiving!! Zenda
ReplyDeleteThank you Zenda. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
DeleteHi Cindy, I always enjoy my post here. We have a lamp like that sitting in the garage. Your tablescape is so pretty! Those boots look so cozy and yes a girl has to have all the cute socks to match the holiday! I set up a pencil thin tree too in the kitchen and decorate it with gingerbread people. The youngest grandson will be my helper after our Thanksgiving meal. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan. I love my skinny tree. Decided to put it up in my dining room this year and the FAT tree in the living room. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your precious family.
DeleteLovely photographs, your decorations look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI like your Christmas socks :)
Happy Thanksgiving Wishes.
All the best Jan
