{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{In My Little World Of Blessings}

 Happy Sunday everyone. I am about to cut up a fresh pineapple and enjoy it late this afternoon with a glass of ice tea. Nothing like  fresh fruit is there? I hope that you've all had a great week.

My youngest daughter and her girls invited me to lunch and a little shopping one day so off we went. Of course one can't go shopping without stopping at Hobby Lobby you know?

We spotted a Five and Below store and the girls were thrilled when I suggested we browse a bit in there!

Five and Below was already putting out some Christmas decor.

My FIL got a new toy this week and he's been riding away! He's 87 and in such good shape and health. We are so thankful for him. He was so excited though about his stationary bike. He said that he'd been peddling so fast before long that we might just see him riding by our house. LOL!

My Yoga instructor wanted to do something special for our teachers, bus drivers, or anyone associated with our school district as they are preparing to begin school here next week. After a nice chicken salad lunch we began prepping fresh fruit for fruit cups and fruit parfaits, goodies bags and a basket to be used in a drawing for a door prize which was valued at $100. All anyone had to do was drive through by the Yoga studio and we had everything ready for them including Dunkin' Coffee. We had such a good turn out from our school employees and everyone seemed to be so appreciative of her kindness. We are praying for the new school year for all of our school emplyoyees and children.

And...I did enjoy a cup of Dunkin' Coffee!

Marty and I enjoyed a DAY DATE! Oh those day dates are the best aren't they? We done a little shopping and of course we made a run to Home Depot. I mean...who doesn't love Home Depot?

We had several people tell us about this place that most would call "A little hole in the wall" place to eat good seafood in a nearby city. So, we decided to try it out. Well, I must say that we did not leave disappointed. The service was great and the food was plentiful and good.

We had so much food leftover but it was sure tasty.

Well, a new month is upon us and it was time to do my monthly focus board. Oh am I learning all the more about the power that is in the Name of the Jesus. Some days it seems like my prayers and talking to Him are long and I think later...BOY, you sure have called on the name of Jesus a lot today. Other days it seems that all I can do is a breath prayer and simply say...JESUS! But regardless....there is POWER in the Name of Jesus.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there's just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name.
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,

But there's something about that name.

I hope that you all have a most wonderful week.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. It's fun to get out together no matter where you go and I love your shopping with your family. We get out in nature and got out of the shopping habit with the pandemic. I don't really miss it though and shop online! lol Lots of temptations at Hobby lobby though. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon!

    1. Yes it is fun no matter what you do when you are with those you love. To be honest, I am not your typical shopper either! LOL! When I go for things I really need I go alone as I am on a mission! But, when I just want to hang out and enjoy the fellowship then I love going with others. Amazon Prime has made it easy to shop on line for me! LOL!

  3. I hope your pineapple was good. I no longer buy them like this, preferring for somebody else to do the carving for me. But fresh is, for sure, the best!!

  6. What is this nasty rumor I'm hearing about school starting next week? It's so hot! This must mean your schools have AC. (Ours don't. )

    What a nice shopping trip with your daughter and grands. The grandgirlies look perfectly happy to be shopping. Someone has them well trained.

    Hope you were able to take home the leftovers of your wonderful seafood dinner. Hmmm...sure looked good.

    Shopping with those grand girls must be so much fun. They're always full of smiles.
    You're all ready to cut into that pineapple. I've got a big old watermelon in the fridge and on this hot day it's going to be SO good.

  10. Pineapple is one of my favourite tropical fruits. I also love seafood so I'm salivating over your meal.

    I think your Five and Below is the equivalent of our Dollarama Store which sells items for $5 or less.

  11. How wonderful of your yoga instructor to do such kindness for others within the school system. The priest at my Mass yesterday blessed all the kids and their backpacks yesterday. It was so sweet.
    Your day date and meal sure looked good. Having fun with your girls is always fun!
    I agree with you in the power of Jesus’ name. 🙏🏻

  14. Hi, Cindy - I've gotten so far behind on reading posts. We've been gone a lot through the Spring and Summer. Part of the time we've not had cell service or internet when I can stop and stay in touch so it's good to start catching up again. I really need to blog about our trips and other things in our part of the world. I love seeing what you've been doing.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
