Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Happy Sunday everyone. I am about to cut up a fresh pineapple and enjoy it late this afternoon with a glass of ice tea. Nothing like fresh fruit is there? I hope that you've all had a great week.
My youngest daughter and her girls invited me to lunch and a little shopping one day so off we went. Of course one can't go shopping without stopping at Hobby Lobby you know?
Five and Below was already putting out some Christmas decor.
My FIL got a new toy this week and he's been riding away! He's 87 and in such good shape and health. We are so thankful for him. He was so excited though about his stationary bike. He said that he'd been peddling so fast before long that we might just see him riding by our house. LOL!
My Yoga instructor wanted to do something special for our teachers, bus drivers, or anyone associated with our school district as they are preparing to begin school here next week. After a nice chicken salad lunch we began prepping fresh fruit for fruit cups and fruit parfaits, goodies bags and a basket to be used in a drawing for a door prize which was valued at $100. All anyone had to do was drive through by the Yoga studio and we had everything ready for them including Dunkin' Coffee. We had such a good turn out from our school employees and everyone seemed to be so appreciative of her kindness. We are praying for the new school year for all of our school emplyoyees and children.
And...I did enjoy a cup of Dunkin' Coffee!
Marty and I enjoyed a DAY DATE! Oh those day dates are the best aren't they? We done a little shopping and of course we made a run to Home Depot. I mean...who doesn't love Home Depot?
We had so much food leftover but it was sure tasty.
Well, a new month is upon us and it was time to do my monthly focus board. Oh am I learning all the more about the power that is in the Name of the Jesus. Some days it seems like my prayers and talking to Him are long and I think later...BOY, you sure have called on the name of Jesus a lot today. Other days it seems that all I can do is a breath prayer and simply say...JESUS! But regardless....there is POWER in the Name of Jesus.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there's just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name.
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name.
I hope that you all have a most wonderful week.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
It's fun to get out together no matter where you go and I love your shopping with your family. We get out in nature and got out of the shopping habit with the pandemic. I don't really miss it though and shop online! lol Lots of temptations at Hobby lobby though. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon!
ReplyDeleteYes it is fun no matter what you do when you are with those you love. To be honest, I am not your typical shopper either! LOL! When I go for things I really need I go alone as I am on a mission! But, when I just want to hang out and enjoy the fellowship then I love going with others. Amazon Prime has made it easy to shop on line for me! LOL!
DeleteYummy on all that food. I have a black top like your white one, you wear it better than me though, lol. Wishing you a beautiful week ahead. smiles
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. I got lots of compliments on that top. Dang, I may need a black one now! LOL!
DeleteI hope your pineapple was good. I no longer buy them like this, preferring for somebody else to do the carving for me. But fresh is, for sure, the best!!
ReplyDeleteThe pineapple was gifted to me so that was a bonus. I rarely buy pineapple and when I do I buy can to make it easier. LOL!
DeleteCindy, that food looks fabulous! It is always fun to see your darling grandgirls. These two are precious! Pineapple sounds like a great treat on a Sunday afternoon. Wishing you a joy-filled week!
ReplyDeleteHappy week to you Pam.
DeleteDay Dates - - - - love'em! ❤
ReplyDeleteYou have a big heart and so much compassion! The teachers and taff are blessed to have you and your joga instructor. So creative and thoughtful.
I'm thinking of you, eating that pineapple!
What is this nasty rumor I'm hearing about school starting next week? It's so hot! This must mean your schools have AC. (Ours don't. )
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice shopping trip with your daughter and grands. The grandgirlies look perfectly happy to be shopping. Someone has them well trained.
Hope you were able to take home the leftovers of your wonderful seafood dinner. Hmmm...sure looked good.
Yes, it starts back here on Wed. We have AC in our schools, praise the Lord! Mercy, I don't know how I went to school with no AC back in the day.
DeleteYou all seem to have a great time all the time. We have a seafood place like that here in our area but I have not been, not the biggest fan of seafood, unless its fried. haha...Don't you just love a great trip to the Hobby? Most times I don't even buy anything but I like to walk and look to see what all they have. Fun.....Have a great week
ReplyDeleteThey did have fried and that is what Marty ordered. I love seafood but my favorite is broiled or baked. Marty..give me fried!
DeleteThat was such a great idea to honor the school employees with treats! Hobby Lobby is a treasure trove, I have to limit my visits for sure! I hope you have another fun filled week!
ReplyDeleteJenna
It was a wonderful thing to do for sure. I was so honored to be able to help with it.
DeleteChristmas decor out already? Wow, that's early. I haven't even seen any pumpkins yet....but soon I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteShopping with those grand girls must be so much fun. They're always full of smiles.
You're all ready to cut into that pineapple. I've got a big old watermelon in the fridge and on this hot day it's going to be SO good.
Have a great week.
I bought a watermelon today and just got it cut up and in the frig. too. Have a great week.
DeletePineapple is one of my favourite tropical fruits. I also love seafood so I'm salivating over your meal.
ReplyDeleteI think your Five and Below is the equivalent of our Dollarama Store which sells items for $5 or less.
My little grands love Five and Below.
DeleteHow wonderful of your yoga instructor to do such kindness for others within the school system. The priest at my Mass yesterday blessed all the kids and their backpacks yesterday. It was so sweet.
ReplyDeleteYour day date and meal sure looked good. Having fun with your girls is always fun!
I agree with you in the power of Jesus’ name. 🙏🏻
How sweet Kitty. I hope your week is wonderful.
DeleteSounds like you've been having a great time this week! Your food at the little "hole in the wall" looks wonderful! And who doesn't love Hobby Lobby!
ReplyDeleteThe food was really good. I hope to go back again. My youngest daughter loves her Hobby Lobby. I did pick up a few things......hee-hee.
DeleteAlways fun to try a new place to eat, fish is a favorite of ours too. Day dates are indeed the best! Hobby Lobby is always a fun place to shop. May the Lord's sweet blessings be with you this Sunday 🤗
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet Marilyn.
DeleteHi, Cindy - I've gotten so far behind on reading posts. We've been gone a lot through the Spring and Summer. Part of the time we've not had cell service or internet when I can stop and stay in touch so it's good to start catching up again. I really need to blog about our trips and other things in our part of the world. I love seeing what you've been doing.

I love your focus board Scripture! That is such a great idea to do that. And you look so beautiful in the photos! I love the one where you were so surprised when you saw what was on your plate! Day dates surely are the very best. Sending love and hugs your way today, sweet friend.
