It's a tad late to wish a Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily. I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...
Hello everyone. I am a bit late in trying to get a post out and it seems I've not done too well in this area for over a week or more. I see clearly how time gets away from us.
Speaking of time getting away from us....Marty and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary recently.
Yes, we were "youngins" as my granny would have. High school sweethearts to be exact. We started dating when I was a mere 16 years old. Married at 18, and started birthing babies at age 20.
Many years have passed and our greatest accomplishments are in these pictures. God is surely a good, good, Father.
Well what did we do to celebrate such a milestone in life? We had ourselves a nice little picnic on the backroads in Georgia! Simplicity at it's finest....
I knew these old baskets that I use to decorate with in what we call the "Buck Room" would sure come in handy one day.
And...FYI that fig spread was delicious! We are neither "fig" fans but it was gifted to us for our anniversary and well, we tried it and LOVED IT!
We might not be perfect but we are perfect for each other.
TRUTH!
As you know from my last post I have been playing around with a little "teach yourself to paint". Gotta love YouTube, right? I gave it to one of my daughters for her decoration and she loved it. Turned out sorta cute though.
We had a family Hocus Pocus party and we had so much fun.
We had all sorts of goodies to eat. We served chili and hotdogs as well. The kids had a blast.
To top it off my oldest daughter made all the girls in the family a loaf of pumpkin bread. YUM!
I can't close without saying how thankful I am that the Lord spared us from "Ian". We only had some debris in our yards. Our prayers have surely abounded for so many others. We are truly grateful!

DeleteCindy, happy anniversary to you and Marty! Wow, 45 years, that’s awesome! Your picnic in the Georgia pines looked like the perfect way to celebrate. And what a fun time you and the girls had at your Hocus Pocus party! I’ve seen other people have had their own movie parties recently, too. One group in our community even had a photo shoot, dressed in their witch-wear. It looked like they had a lot of fun and the photos were actually rather pretty. Ha! I’m so happy to hear you all were spared from the brunt of the hurricane! I’ve kept you all in my prayers and continue to pray for all whose whole lives have been blown away. It looks just devastating! Take care and enjoy the rest of your week! Z

DeleteHappy 45th Anniversary! You two still look like "younguns". I'm glad you didn't have any damage from Ian. I've been away from Florida for 5 years but it's still in my heart. I cried over the destruction in the southwest. Have a lovely week.
