Marty asked me what would I like to do for my special day and since my three daughters carried me to a movie and out to eat last weekend I decided to let's do a day trip to Fernandina Beach, Florida. We ate at this great place overlooking the harbor and we got there just before it became crowded. The temps was rather cool for us Floridians and there was some wind but we sat in the enclosed patio and it was so nice.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. It's hard to find good food and good service these days but we sure did find it there.
We walked around downtown and the pirates sang happy birthday to me! We done a little shopping and I found a place that carried all sorts of teas and spices. Mercy! I refrained from the teas as I am trying to drink up some that I have now but I did have to get a small bottle of their brand Turmeric.
Of course I wanted one of everything! I did have a cup of their tea and it hit the spot. But, we also had coffee after a few hours of walking around town to keep me focused. I ate too much! LOL!
We arrived home that night to find these mini cupcakes with a note in a bag hanging on my door! It's good to have friends that tell each other what a DEAL we got! LOVE IT!
I was a little sad when we arrived home that I didn't give in to my whim of buying some of the teas however, this was waiting on me from a sweet blogging friend in my mailbox. Thank you Kitty!
On our way home we decided to stop on the outskirts of Fernandina to shop a few of my favorite places and one of those places happened to be a Thrift store. I found this cute little glass tea pot infuser. I love it as you can use with tea bags as well as loose leaf tea. It was $3.99 so I knew I had to get it. Happy Birthday to me I sang all the way to the car!
Now I am not familiar with this name on the bottom of the tea pot but as I was checking out a lady standing behind me commented on the cuteness of the tea pot. We stuck up a conversation and she asked if she could look at it. She then told me she thought It might be vintage and that she had heard the name of the maker before. She was so funny as she said, "Honey, you might want to check this out because you might could sell it". Well, it just seems that it is vintage from what I can read about it. Found one on EBAY for $53. Other places, lots more! Either way, whether it's vintage or not, I sure will enjoy using this cutie.Oh I have to show you these beautiful onions! They were given to me by my daughter Melissa whose husband's family had grown them! Blooming onion looks like it might just a be meal this week around here.
Since we arrived home too late for me to cook Sunday dinner we decided to take these two out to eat at their favorite place after church, Burger King. Of course we topped it off with Cotton Candy for dessert. After their sugar high we carried them home!!!Web Image
I love Sue Boldt's morning moment of prayer devotional each week and if you get the chance to pop over and read her writings you will be blessed. It seems just when I need that extra WORD from the Lord Sue's prayer pops up in my mailbox. www.sueboldt.com
I hope that you all have a wonderfully blessed week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
What a great birthday week you had 🎈
ReplyDeleteTreasures and treats all over the place. Your grandgirlies are so cute.
I'm sure they were happy to help you out with your extra hours.
I sure did have a great birthday Vee.
DeleteHappy Birthday !!! I'm glad you had a great day. I like the glass teapot that you found at a thrift store. The fact that it's worth quite a bit ( for a teapot) makes it even better. I hope you have a great week. Granny M
ReplyDeleteThanks so much GM.
DeleteHappy birthday to you! Sounds like a wonderful day. That is a great find on that teapot. I have started getting rid of some of my stuff and the internet is a Godsend for figuring out what things are worth. Have a wonderful week. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet Diana.
DeleteCindy, you had a fabulous birthday. Happy belated birthday! The grandgirls are beautiful. Happy Week to you!
ReplyDeletePam @ Everyday Living
Thank you Pam.
DeleteHappy Belated Birthday, Cindy!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful time celebrating your birthday. I also salute your self-restraint in the tea shop. The glass teapot is a great thrift store score! Like you, I treasure hunt teapots and teacups for my enjoyment. One time I tried to do consignment and the woman who appraise the vintage tea set they weren't worth much. So I ended up just donating them to someone who actually wanted them!
Thanks Margie. I have never been into consignment or trying to sell things as I always donate too. I told my girls when I cleaned out my She-shed a year ago and got rid of so much stuff that I just didn't have the energy to deal with all that buying and selling. LOL!
DeleteHappy Birthday Cindy! It sounds like a perfect day!!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thank you Jenna.
DeleteWhat a fun birthday you had my friend! Movie with your girls, fun, shopping and food with your hubby and then a great thrift store find! What a bargain on that teapot. I have a glass one that I received as a gift, and they are so nice. I hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI love your glass tea pot. When I saw this one it made think about seeing pictures of your lovely pot. This one is very small but perfect for me.
DeleteHappy Birthday sweet lady....I KNOW you are still celebrating! I was going to say it doesn't get any better than pirates singing Happy birthday to you....but your family makes it special and I know that's what you love. Have a FUN week! Birthday hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThanks so much friend.
DeleteHappy Birthday Cindy-Loo!! Those grands keep you young, that's for sure! Going to Ferdandina Beach looked like the perfect way to spend your special day. Nothing like sitting and looking out at the water while you eat! The tea pot is so cute. What a find!! Those onions do look amazing!! I hope you're celebrating all month!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather Lou. I am still celebrating as a sweet dear friend and I went to lunch together this past Friday and two of my friends and I are going out this Thursday. I feel so special. But, the birthday month is about to come to an end! LOL!
DeleteHello Lady, Merriest bday to you. Me, I took mine easy. A couple friends that took me out for lunch and dinner and my brother for breakfast....never thought about it but that covered all the daily meals! lol....thank goodness it was not all the same day! Looks like you have a blast.

DeleteLove your blog, Cindy, but don't see how I can subscribe to it. Happy Belated Birthday, too! Yours is the same day as my brother's, whom we just visited down in Brunswick. And the grands are certainly grand!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you Martha. I am trying to figure out how to add subscribe button. It used to be on there. I had a great birthday.
DeleteHappy Belated Birthday Cindy! I did see your pictures on FB. I like to go to the beach on my birthday. Looks like you had a great time. Great find with that little teapot! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan.
DeleteSweet treats for a sweet lady! As always, you celebrate with joy and style. And cotton candy in the car! You're the best grandma ever.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you with many more years to love and be loved. You're such a blessing to everyone around you. Including me from afar.
Thank you Linda. They done really good with the cotton candy in the car. LOL!
DeleteHappy Belated birthday Cindy! I think I did wish you HB on FB but not here. What a wonderful time you had celebrating! I loved your delicious meal enjoyed outside with Marty, and how fun to walk around town! So sweet of Kitty to bless you with some tea! I have the cinnamon tea, and love it so much! I also have almost identical glass teapot as you! I don't think mine is vintage though. It makes the best tea, and it stays hot for a long time! You will enjoy it! We are having cold blustery weather here, so I am drinking lots and lots of tea! Blessings to you dear friend, and I really had to chuckle, about bring the grandgirls home with their sugar high! Oh the fun joys of being a grandparent! Hugs and blessings :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Marilyn. I bet you are drinking lots of hot teas with all that snow you have.
DeleteIt looks like you had an amazing birthday celebration! God bless you always, Cindy.
