Happy May!

Happy May! I wanted to pop in and share a few pictures from my month of April which seemed to fly by quickly. As I am trying to catch up with my blogging friends today I realized it had been a month since I last posted. My mercy! But, I am so busy doing this thing we call life here on earth and enjoying every moment that I can. With my immediate family of 14 there is never a dull moment y'all!   We had three family birthdays in April. My SIL David, granddaughter Adalynn and oldest granddaughter Raygen.  Our favorite grandson Conner (only grandson) carried his girl to the prom. We had to snap at least one picture with Mom and Nana! Two of my elementary school friends and I get together at least once every 4-5 weeks so we went to breakfast and then to  Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. We always have so much fun.  The gardens are so beautiful that I couldn't even attempt to snap all the pictures I wanted. There are so many beautiful paintings to look at this but this was one of

{Happy Birthday To Me}

I hope that you all are enjoying this nice Sunday afternoon. I just finished prepping for tomorrows evening meal and prepping for a lunch for a friend so decided to give myself a break and show you some fun pictures from my birthday. YEP, praise the Lord I celebrated another birthday yesterday. Just seems like I celebrated one not too long ago!

Marty asked me what would I like to do for my special day and since my three daughters carried me to a movie and out to eat last weekend I decided to let's do a day trip to Fernandina Beach, Florida. We ate at this great place overlooking the harbor and we got there just before it became crowded. The temps was rather cool for us Floridians and there was some wind but we sat in the enclosed patio and it was so nice.

The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. It's hard to find good food and good service these days but we sure did find it there.

We walked around downtown and the pirates sang happy birthday to me! We done a little shopping and I found a place that carried all sorts of teas and spices. Mercy! I refrained from the teas as I am trying to drink up some that I have now but I did have to get a small bottle of their brand Turmeric.

Of course I wanted one of everything! I did have a cup of their tea and it hit the spot. But, we also had coffee after a few hours of walking around town to keep me focused. I ate too much! LOL!

We arrived home that night to find these mini cupcakes with a note in a bag hanging on my door! It's good to have friends that tell each other what a DEAL we got! LOVE IT!

I was a little sad when we arrived home that I didn't give in to my whim of buying some of the teas however, this was waiting on me from a sweet blogging friend in my mailbox. Thank you Kitty!

On our way home we decided to stop on the outskirts of Fernandina to shop a few of my favorite places and one of those places happened to be a Thrift store. I found this cute little glass tea pot infuser. I love it as you can use with tea bags as well as loose leaf tea. It was $3.99 so I knew I had to get it. Happy Birthday to me I sang all the way to the car!

Now I am not familiar with this name on the bottom of the tea pot but as I was checking out a lady standing behind me commented on the cuteness of the tea pot. We stuck up a conversation and she asked if she could look at it. She then told me she thought It might be vintage and that she had heard the name of the maker before. She was so funny as she said, "Honey, you might want to check this out because you might could sell it". Well, it just seems that it is vintage from what I can read about it. Found one on EBAY for $53. Other places, lots more! Either way, whether it's vintage or not, I sure will enjoy using this cutie.

Oh I have to show you these beautiful onions!  They were given to me by my daughter Melissa whose husband's family had grown them! Blooming onion looks like it might just a be meal this week around here.

Since we arrived home too late for me to cook Sunday dinner we decided to take these two out to eat at their favorite place after church, Burger King. Of course we topped it off with Cotton Candy for dessert. After their sugar high we carried them home!!!

I love Sue Boldt's morning moment of prayer devotional each week and if you get the chance to pop over and read her writings you will be blessed. It seems just when I need that extra WORD from the Lord Sue's prayer pops up in my mailbox. www.sueboldt.com

I hope that you all have a wonderfully blessed week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  2. Happy Birthday !!! I'm glad you had a great day. I like the glass teapot that you found at a thrift store. The fact that it's worth quite a bit ( for a teapot) makes it even better. I hope you have a great week. Granny M

  5. Happy Belated Birthday, Cindy!

    Glad you had a wonderful time celebrating your birthday. I also salute your self-restraint in the tea shop. The glass teapot is a great thrift store score! Like you, I treasure hunt teapots and teacups for my enjoyment. One time I tried to do consignment and the woman who appraise the vintage tea set they weren't worth much. So I ended up just donating them to someone who actually wanted them!

    1. Thanks Margie. I have never been into consignment or trying to sell things as I always donate too. I told my girls when I cleaned out my She-shed a year ago and got rid of so much stuff that I just didn't have the energy to deal with all that buying and selling. LOL!

  15. Happy Belated birthday Cindy! I think I did wish you HB on FB but not here. What a wonderful time you had celebrating! I loved your delicious meal enjoyed outside with Marty, and how fun to walk around town! So sweet of Kitty to bless you with some tea! I have the cinnamon tea, and love it so much! I also have almost identical glass teapot as you! I don't think mine is vintage though. It makes the best tea, and it stays hot for a long time! You will enjoy it! We are having cold blustery weather here, so I am drinking lots and lots of tea! Blessings to you dear friend, and I really had to chuckle, about bring the grandgirls home with their sugar high! Oh the fun joys of being a grandparent! Hugs and blessings :)

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
