{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Welcome To April}

It's a brand new month already in the new year and it seems that January through March has just flown by. We kicked off the new month with a Conner reunion today and I must say that the weather was absolutely beautiful for a big gathering. My FIL has only two siblings left so he was happy to have them both with him today. He's 88. He has one older sister and one younger sister left in his family. He truly felt blessed today.

The three youngest grands came to spend the day with me on on Friday. I kept them busy as we attempted to TRY and organize my She-Shed. Well, not much organizing but they had fun playing.

Let's just say that not much organizing was done but at least I can walk in there now! LOL!

Organizing will have to wait but what fun the little's did have in Nana's She-Shed. Memories are much better than perfection to me.

My granddaughter Kyleigh was going to a Play that night with family friends so she asked me if I would put just a tad of makeup on her and fix her hair.

The youngest of our grands had her first soccer game of the season so we enjoyed watching her. Amazing at how in one year she has learned so much.

Annaleigh is the baby of our six grandchildren. Marty and I are so blessed that our children all live nearby and that we can be active in their lives.

I do hope that you all have a wonderful week and the new month we are now entered into will bring you lots of blessings, fun and joy. I will close with another devotional that spoke to me this week. Maybe it speaks to you too.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. Oh, what a wonderful post. I enjoyed this from beginning to end. I loved seeing your She-Shed and knowing how the grandgirls enjoyed spending time in there with you. It sure looks organized to me! Amazingly so! How wonderful to have such a neat place to store your decor and extra dishes, etc. It's easy to go in there and see what you are looking for and not have to trip over ten zillion other boxes of things to get to them. That's how my storage shed is. Of course, I have to share my space with the tool shed portion...hubby's workbench, etc., so there is no way I could ever leave things open on the shelves, etc. I dream of having a she-shed someday...you are inspiring me to keep thinking about it even more! I loved the devotional at the end. Yes, it is hard for us to allow others to see us in a less than perfect condition...we don't want others to see how we "really look", without make up and hair intact, and our clean/nice clothes...or when we are broken and hurting. But it's true, we need to allow others to minister to us at times. It raises the level of friendship to a better, truer place, and people begin to know they can be real with us as well. Good lesson. Thank you for sharing it. I hope you have a blessed and wonderful Holy Week.

  6. Yes, that last page certainly spoke to me, Cindy. We love to be of help to others and we must let others help us in return.
    Your she shed is a wonderful place for storage. Aren’t you thankful to have that? I have to store things in bins in my garage.
    Those girls are sure growing up, especially Kyleigh! I hope she had fun at the play.
    Happy Easter blessings to you and your family, sweet friend.

  7. I need a she-shed! It will happen one of these days because hubby wants more garage space! Cut pictures of your grands. They sure grow up quickly! I bet you are getting ready for Easter. I am doing a little decorating. I need to get out my spring dishes and wash them. I love your tablescapes. Have a great week Cindy!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
