{It's almost a New Year}

  Oh my 2024 has almost gone!  I would normally say "where has the time gone too" but this year some of my days have been long, other days, sweet and full of hope. All days I've surely felt the touch of the Master's Hand upon me.  I am sorry that I have not been able to keep up with blogging but it just hasn't been in the plan.  I am happy to say that I was able to RING THE BELL two days before Thanksgiving and what a blessing that was for me and my family.  Oh the emotions was surely on a all time high that sweet day. {It's almost a New Year}

 Oh my 2024 has almost gone!

I would normally say "where has the time gone too" but this year some of my days have been long, other days, sweet and full of hope. All days I've surely felt the touch of the Master's Hand upon me.

I am sorry that I have not been able to keep up with blogging but it just hasn't been in the plan.

I am happy to say that I was able to RING THE BELL two days before Thanksgiving and what a blessing that was for me and my family.

Oh the emotions was surely on a all time high that sweet day. I rang that bell loud and proud.

I was so blessed to have so many of my family with me on that special occasion. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful strong support group with my family, friends and church family.

My oldest granddaughter Raygen was given permission to come and play the piano after I rang the bell. She sang one of my favorite songs, "It is well with my soul". It was amazing at the patients, doctors and nurses that stopped by to hear her play and sing that day. I do believe that God used her to touch hearts and souls that day.

As so many of you know my WORD for 2024 was Focus and little did I know that word would become my lifeline. FOCUS ON HIM!

I have been praying about my new word for 2025 and have asked the Lord if maybe that word could be EAT, SHOP, SLEEP, or something really fun! LOL!

(Thanksgiving)

{Christmas}

The holidays have been extra special this year.

So much has changed for me this year but I was able to get a little baking done for gifts for friends and family this holiday season.

{2 Sour cream pound cakes, 3 platters of goodies and 2 1920 Ritz Carlton Lemon pound cakes}

My daughters done the majority of my Thanksgiving and Christmas cooking this year and I am so grateful. They decorated for me this Christmas season too and what a blessing that was. NOTHING LIKE FAMILY!

Marty and I did manage to get a tree up and decorated but mercy it took me days. I am afraid that I had lots of side effects from treatments so it sure slowed me down. But, giving praise for our Lord seeing me through each day.

As I close today I want to say a huge thankyou for all of my blogging friends that have lifted me up in prayer. Many of you have reached out to me and some of you are on Facebook so we can interact privately. It's been the prayers that has been meant so much. I am surely on a healing journey and still having some issues but one thing has remained certain:

"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged". Deut. 31:8

I pray that you all have very Happy and Blessed New Year. May you each fill the love and joy that the Lord has for you. Embrace each day as it comes. Look for the Lord in your days for when we seek Him we will find Him.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  13. Cindy, it is so good to see you and your family in these beautiful Christmas-season photos. It is WONDERFUL!!!!! to see you up and about, ringing that bell and praising Jesus at the hospital piano. Yes, you continue to be in my prayers. You and Marty and all of your family -- because it's been a challenge for all of you.

    On Christmas Eve Gary and I were at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Medical Center (the location on Palm Avenue) for a second opinion regarding his surgeries earlier this year. (no cancer; it was regarding other issues) I half way wondered if I might see you in the halls as we made our way around. (I don't even know if that was your place of treatment -- just wondering since I was there, and you don't have to reply to that). Anyway, It's good to see you here on your blog. Thank you for checking in this way. Love you!

    1. Thank you Barbara. Oh how thankful I am that I was not at MD Anderson Cancer center on Christmas Eve. However, I do miss the many faces and new friends I made. Yes, that location is where I go and took every single treatment. I have a team of 5 specialist there so go often. The only good thing that could have happened by being there would have been to see YOU!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
