{Baking, Family, Friends and Fun}

Oh my! It's been a month since I have blogged. I honestly have found it hard to keep up but I am blaming on family time! What better explanation could I have huh? Well, maybe BAKING ! Vanilla cake with chocolate sauce filling and cool whip with powdered sugar icing topped with sprinkles.  Chocolate with fresh strawberry filling with buttercream frosting and a touch of candy pearls. Butter cake with buttercream icing and chocolate sauce.   There has been a whole lot of baking going on at my house. I get in these moods at times. Family & friends have enjoyed my gifts of love. My daughter Melissa and I carried my granddaughter Kyleigh and one of her sweet friends to see Snow White. We had such a fun time with the girls. Our family enjoyed watching our granddaughter Adalynn in her first cheer competition. Her team won 1st place.  Our granddaughter Mallory attended her Junior prom and had the best time. I've decided that blue is her color! I thought this was the cutest pi...

{Baby, It's Cold Outside}

  Well, when I say it's been cold in Florida then it's been cold! Mercy. I don't do extreme cold nor heat. Think I need to move to the Bahamas's or Hawaii! LOL!  Speaking of cold Marty and I went to the mountains for a little getaway and of course our favorite place to go is Blueridge, Ga. However, temps never got above freezing. No planning for months, no wondering what we would do from day to day but simply a getaway to rest, relax and refresh our spirits. WHICH WE DID JUST THAT.  We surely didn't play in the snow long but did get a tad of play time in.  The cabin was still decorated with Christmas and that I truly loved as I love all things Christmas.  We stayed by the fire a lot which was so nice. The cabin had a fireplace inside and one outside on the partially closed porch with a...

As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily.  I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...
