{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD

Did you know that according to the Gallup poll, most women are worried about time, family, health and money? Mercy in the economy that we are living in how can we not? RIGHT?

I taught a Bible study on 2007 called "Living Above Worry and Stress" (a women of faith series) I must have NEEDED it again as I taught it again in 2011!

 I've always heard that 90% of what we worry about never comes to pass. That may be very true but I think the root of our problem is TRUSTING GOD!

I have found myself saying yes Lord, I trust you in all things! BUT DO I REALLY? As women we are just known for "fixing" things aren't we?

Whether it be a child's knee, a relationship, or the outcome of a medical test...we want to fix it!

But here is the real deal of things...until we decide that WE are going to ALLOW GOD to be in control and do as HE WILLS we will never have a PEACE.

John 14:27 says "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

The times in my life that I have tried to fix things without God it only led to worry, frustration and a weak minded spirit.

When I have tried to fix things by using all the EARTHLY resources I had and it still didn't work that is when I laid it before the King of Kings...at THE CROSS!

When I finally done that do you know what happened? GOD TOOK OVER! It was almost as if He said, "Okay, now that you have TRIED to FIX things with YOUR resources to no avail, give it to me!

It has been those times that when I TRULY gave it to HIM that no matter what the outcome was I had a peace. A peace that passed all understanding knowing that GOD was in control and not me.

Phillippians 4:7 says: "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".

Definition of TRUST:  : assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something : one in which confidence is placed:dependence on something future or hope.
Do we think JESUS can be trusted?.

One of my favorite scriptures is:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (New International Version)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways submit to him,  and he will make your paths straight.

Oh I pray that I will trust Him more!

See you Friday for Friday Favorites!

  4. WOW! We do allow the words to fall from our lips "I trust God" so easily don't we. I tend to find myself trusting when things are going my way....But when I they aren't and I can't control the situation that is when I realize I am not trusting the Lord. Oh Lord forgive me. Thanks for this post. Looking forward to Friday Favorites.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
