It's a tad late to wish a Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily. I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
I am reading this as part of my devotional and couldn't help but chuckle! We have reaped a harvest of flooding from the storm Debbie. Seems she has left but flooding is still happening in some area's. I have prayed for rain for so long as our county and especially for our homestead because it has been so dry. I got my prayers answered with a little kick to it! I am not complaining but just couldn't help but laugh at the Lord's sense of humor this morning. I walked outside on my porch to see the road in front of my home under water. Half of front yard is flooded. My pond is running over into the yard. We had two leaks in our home yesterday in the midst of the storm that had to be fixed, alternate routes had to be taken to go anywhere within a 20 miles radius of us, my fatherinlaw's porch was flooded, and this morning I read, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it!
This indeed is a brand new day that God has given us to Praise Him and to thank Him!
Praying that no matter what is going on in your life that you too realize that this is the day the Lord has made and be glad and rejoice!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Good morning, Cindy. I must confess that I have been complaining that it has been so hot and extreeeeemely humid here, but then was very thankful because that high pressure kept that terrible storm from coming here. Then I'm not sure how I feel about that because now you are flooded, so the Lord's Word is a good reminder that the "day" (any day)no matter the situation, is the Lord's and we should rejoice in it. I send up many prayers for you and your family and neighbors. I suppose we need to look for the blessings in the hard times.

ReplyDeletePraying for you, Ms. Cindy....and for all those in Colorado experiencing the fires. It's supposed to be 100 degrees here this weekend...I do believe our GOD is trying desperately to get the attention of HIS people!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Preach it sister!
ReplyDeleteYes - I'm wondering about the balance of the weather and acts of God this week - the waters you're inundated with might be more useful in Colorado just now!
ReplyDeleteGod is in control - even in this!!
Joy!

Hi CIndy, sorry about the floodings. My son in FL just called and said that a lot of the roads are flooded there too. I am thankful that none of my kids' are flooded. Take care!...Christine
ReplyDeleteAs you are "rejoicing in the Lord" amidst heavy rain and flooding, we are "rejoicing" in the 105+ F temperatures coming this weekend.... with NO rain in sight.
