{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

 I am reading this as part of my devotional and couldn't help but chuckle! We have reaped a harvest of flooding from the storm Debbie. Seems she has left but flooding is still happening in some area's. I have prayed for rain for so long as our county and especially for our homestead because it has been so dry. I got my prayers answered with a little kick to it! I am not complaining but just couldn't help but laugh at the Lord's sense of humor this morning. I walked outside on my porch to see the road in front of my home under water. Half of front yard is flooded. My pond is running over into the yard. We had two leaks in our home yesterday in the midst of the storm that had to be fixed, alternate routes had to be taken to go anywhere within a 20 miles radius of us, my fatherinlaw's porch was flooded, and this morning I read, "This is the day the Lord has made,let us be glad and rejoice in it!
 This indeed is a brand new day that God has given us to Praise Him and to thank Him!

Praying that no matter what is going on in your life that you too realize that this is the day the Lord has made and be glad and rejoice!

  1. Good morning, Cindy. I must confess that I have been complaining that it has been so hot and extreeeeemely humid here, but then was very thankful because that high pressure kept that terrible storm from coming here. Then I'm not sure how I feel about that because now you are flooded, so the Lord's Word is a good reminder that the "day" (any day)no matter the situation, is the Lord's and we should rejoice in it. I send up many prayers for you and your family and neighbors. I suppose we need to look for the blessings in the hard times.

    I also checked out your previous posts that I missed. LOVE THE YARD SALE ITEMS! Can't wait to see what you do with the chandelier. The other posts are just GREAT! You find so many creative people with so many wonderful ideas.

    You are the best! Stay dry...
    Hugs,
    Brenda

  5. Yes - I'm wondering about the balance of the weather and acts of God this week - the waters you're inundated with might be more useful in Colorado just now!

    God is in control - even in this!!
    Joy!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
