I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
My oldest grandgirl loves to sew and when she comes to Nana's house the first thing she wants to know is, "Nana, do you have some fabric I can sew with?". I LOVE IT!
So needless to say she began to go through some fabric. She cracks me up because each piece that she picks up she will tell me what she thinks would be awesome (as she says) to make out of it. This time though she decided that we would make her great-grandmother, also known as 2-Nanny a tote bag. We decided to use a regular heavy duty vinyl tablecloth....I had several different ones but she picked out the one that she knew 2-Nanny would love.
The country print is what we went with. Hearts, stars and all the colors that 2-Nanny loves.
We doubled it so the outside and the inside would be the same. Water proof and clean up is easy with the Tablecloth tote bag!
Our Raygen is a "giver" and gives from her little 10 year old heart. Each week I watch her as she (excitedly) places her money in the offering plate at church. She has donated bags of clothes for a clothing drive and just told me that she was going to go through some of her (Nicer baby dolls as she calls it) to give to some little girls for Christmas that might not get a doll for Christmas. And well...Can I just say...Melts my heart!
The Bible says, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38
I could sit here and tear this verse apart to give you the true depth of the meaning. I could very easily come up with a Bible Study based on this one verse at how we are to give to those that need and to help others. But just for today I want to say that when we give to others, regardless of whether is money, time, a smile, or a simple little tablecloth tote bag and it's done from the heart our Lord blesses and blesses and blesses! There is nothing that we do for Him that will go unrewarded.
I want to post a question. If what is done for you is based on what you do for others what will the outcome be for you? As my man will say at times....WE WILL REAP WHAT WE SOW!
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
We can't out-give God in any area of our life.
Not even with our smiles!

Hi Cindy, what a beautiful post and so true. I love the tote your sweet and giving grand created for 2-Nanny. She is such a dear and learning such a valuable lesson in life. Love the pic and the joy in her smile is priceless. Creating the tote from the vinyl is a grand idea.
ReplyDeleteI learned and witnessed from my parents many years ago how it is better to give then receive, as it is in the giving that we are truly blessed. It brings such joy and that gift is a treasure to know and feel in the heart!!

ReplyDeleteI agree with Deb. Raygen is a very sweet and loving little lady. Giving is so rewarding, its one of my biggest joys.
I love the waterproof tote you two made. You should sell them, beach goers and boaters like myself would buy them up.
