{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

Make Me Smile Monday-Beach time with the Family

 Let's go to the beach.......

My family and I sure had a great time together at the beach last week.

I've had several email me to ask where it is that we go. Palm Coast on Cinnamon Beach is our getaway spot. Cinnamon Beach earns it's name...the sand is a beautiful cinnamon color.

The main reason we like this place so well is it simply appeals to us all...adults and kids.

When we first began to search for a family place to go our criteria was: Not too far that we couldn't get  back home within a few hours if needed. A place that would comfortably sleep all of our family. Pet friendly (as I have a grand-dog you know) Easy access to a store if we needed something. Of course we knew we wanted the beach but as we began to look for things the little ones would enjoy as well needless to say Cinnamon Beach was it.

You can rent a house or condo. We've stayed twice now in a condo. In addition to the beach area there is an adult only pool, a regular swimming pool for everyone, a kiddie water park, hot tub, game room, workout room, snack bar as well as ice cream shop and fast food.  So in all honestly you would never have to leave Cinnamon beach. So if you're looking for a place to vacation that will meet the needs of different age groups in your family I strongly suggest Cinnamon Beach at Palm Coast. Ice cream shop right next to the workout room (hee-hee)

The golf course there is so pretty! Makes me (almost) wish I played golf!

There are condos as far as you can see. Lots of houses as well on Cinnamon beach. Which I loved walking by some of them and looking at the different colors and structure of each home.

We collected a lot of sea shells as well. The grands and I will doing a craft with our sea shells.

The last afternoon there my grandson found a conk shell and a clam shell. Wish I had of snapped a picture but didn't.

Even the grand-dog has his own beach shirt!

 We didn't miss a meal I can assure you! Each morning we had a large breakfast with exception of one morning and it was muffins and cereal. First night was take out pizza but after that...OH YEAH...FOOD! A friend told me, "Calories don't count when you're on vacation". We even had an ice cream bar one night but I will not show you that picture! It will only make you mad because you can't have any of it right now!

We had so much fun with our children and grandchildren. These babies are just the icing on the cake for us!

This is what winded up in Nana and Papa's bed each morning.....

Enjoyed my girls...

And all my family....

Great afternoon walks on the beach.

Of course 2 nights we went crab hunting. Now if you have never crab hunted on the beach you are missing out on so much fun! I've never heard so much squealing and laughter in my life!

Lots of fun memories for us.

Thankful for the down time we had but most of all for our time well spent as family.

I am ready to go back...WANNA GO?

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  9. That is a beautiful place to spend time with your family. Our beaches in Oregon are so different - and equally beautiful. Just different. We don't hunt for crabs on the beach, we go out into the bay or ocean in a boat, with crab 'pots' to catch them. It would be fun to head your way and experience your favorite beach sometime!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
