{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

Wednesday in the Word-The Lord is My Rock and Strength

The Lord is described as many things such as; Strong Tower, Fortress, Shepherd, Shield, Light, Deliverer and the list could go on and on. But He is also our Rock and our Strength.

Sometimes just the weariness of life in general can overwhelm us at times can't it? I don't know about you but there are times when I feel like every ounce of strength I've got is zapped from me and my life can resemble a cooked noodle instead of a Rock! How about you?

The truth is that we all face times that we feel we have no strength to carry us through the trail, tribulation or just the course of life that seems to our present path.

There are days when we feel guilty for silently complaining when we look around and see all the hurt that others are feeling. We think, "I am shamed to even ask for prayer because my current needs and situation is so light compared to others.

On some days we think "DOES anyone else even CARE? Do they realize what my needs, my hurts and my disappointments in life are.

You know what? It is normal for us to have these feelings.

Sometimes in the quietness of my whining, fretting and yes, even feeling sorry for myself, the Lord has shown me through others how to gain perspective. How can I whine and fret about something going on in my life when I see a sister in the Lord battling from cancer?  That tends to put things into perspective doesn't it?

 At other times He has placed just the person that I needed in my life that has gone through what I am going through and understands me totally. No judging me, no trying to fix the problem, no passing it off as just a "thing", just simply knowing first hand the depths of my heart. And can I be totally honest? YES, this too shall pass but when we're in the midst of it it doesn't seem to be moving too quickly now does it?

But there has been times that the Lord has just sweetly made Himself so present in the midst of my circumstance and has reminded me that HE and HE alone is my ROCK and my STRENGTH. That YES, my situation or current path that I am walking may seem minor compared to another but HE cares. YES, it could be worse. NO, I am not alone. YES, someone cares....His name is Jesus!
Sometimes, we need no other...it may be a time in our life that the Lord is teaching us to depend totally on Him for that particular season of life.

You see our Lord cares about every single detail of our life. If it is important to you then it is important to Him...REGARDLESS of the situation at hand.

The word Rock in the dictionary is described as; A large mass of stone; a concreted mass of stony material; consolidated or unconsolidated solid mineral matter but in a figurative sense it means:someone who is strong, stable and dependable

Our Lord is our ROCK when we feel so unstable. He is our STRENGTH when we fill we do not have one ounce left to give. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Experiencing Him as my ROCK reminds me that He is a solid foundation in my life. The Living God that I serve is Strong, Stable and Dependable and without Him I am nothing more than a grain of sand that can be blown away by the wind.

  1. My hope is built on nothing less
    Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
    I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
    But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
    • Refrain:
      On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
      All other ground is sinking sand,
      All other ground is sinking sand.
  2. When darkness veils His lovely face,
    I rest on His unchanging grace;
    In every high and stormy gale,
    My anchor holds within the veil.
  3. His oath, His covenant, His blood
    Support me in the whelming flood;
    When all around my soul gives way,
    He then is all my hope and stay.
  4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
    Oh, may I then in Him be found;
    Dressed in His righteousness alone,
    Faultless to stand before the throne.

 Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  4. 1st big hugs to you Cindy. I hope whatever you are going through passes quickly and as painless as possible xo Very beautiful post. I've been in shock trauma before and because I smiled & joked, my family, friends *&* the medical staff were shocked at how well I accepted my situation but how could I not when there was so many others there (IMO) a lot worse off than I was. The staff actually had me go talk with other patients to help them through similar circumstances as mine. I love helping others, I have my entire life. If you ever need a shoulder I will always be there for you.
    All the best to you sweet friend.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
