{It's A New Beginning Y'all}

  It's a tad late to wish a  Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily.  I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...

Wednesday in the Word-God is FAITHFUL.

We live in a world that has ceaseless change, utter confusion, uncertainty and insecurity. We hear and we witness the brutality of man. We worry about the diseases that could ravage our bodies and that of our loved ones. We hold onto our little one's hands in fear that within a split second they could go missing. We lock our doors and our windows to keep the bad people out. We shutter in silence when watching the news. We cry at night because of fear. We can't think about our future because we fear what may come. We wonder, "What will our little ones have to look forward too". We ask, "who can we trust". My heart breaks when I hear of the horrible persecutions that my brothers and sisters in Christ has faced. My body cringes when I hear of diseases that seem to be hiding in the shadows waiting for its next victim. I cry for the mama that her child has went missing. I wonder at times what tomorrow will be bring if I am given another day of life. Yes, these thoughts are normal. The sadness is lurking around our world with a heaviness of heart. Our minds go on and on with these haunting thoughts.

Yet for the Christian we can have a peace that will surpass any understanding. His Word says that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He tells us that we can trust Him because He is the ONLY one that is faithful.

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

John 16:33"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever."

Malachi 3:6 tells us that the LORD NEVER CHANGES!

Christ never intended for us to live in constant fear. He doesn't want us to arise in the mornings with a doom and gloom attitude. Christ never meant for us to hide in a closet and not to live. Matter of fact I believe His desire is that we live life to the fullest and that we live it for HIM.

Here's the thing my friends....The Bible makes it clear that NO ONE knows the day or the hour that Christ will return. We should always be about the business of Christ regardless of what is going on around us in this world. Time is drawing near and the end of this life is closer now than it's ever been. May we live for Him daily...pray, praise, seek, and rejoice! Simply because He is God!

  5. Every time I read one of your Miss Cindy - a melody starts playing in head

    Great Is Thy Faithfulness1
    Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
    There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
    Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
    As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
    Great is Thy faithfulness!
    Great is Thy faithfulness!
    Morning by morning new mercies I see.
    All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
    Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

  8. Great post, Cindy! Sometimes we spend more time worrying about what we cannot change than we spend living our lives and praising God for all of our blessings. We should all try to reverse these!

  9. I love your post! I'm not good at explaining much of the deep in my blog, but you, it touched my heart. You see, we pray so much in my monthly Rosary's and at another friend and we touch all these subjects and the sufferings people in some countries are enduring. Now even in Mexico there are some poor parents who have NO IDEA whatever happened to their college sons, 42 of them that have disappear when they underwent a march for something!
    OMG, those parents and it's almost 2 months now!
    Thanks for your sweet visit my friend.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
