Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Am I tired? At times I am. Am I weary? At times I am. Do I get burned out? At times I do. I think we all suffer at one time or another with different things that come into our daily lives. I had a sweet sister in the Lord just openly share her heart with me that she was burned out on religion. The thing is that if religion is what we are seeking we will become burned out quick like!
The thing I KNOW is that our walk with Christ is not without struggles nor suffering.
He never promised us that it would be. He did promise us that He would never leave nor forsake us no matter what. I find comfort in that promise.
When we are dealing with being tired, worn out, sad, afraid, unsure, or whatever it is that is going on in our life if we are not very careful we will allow it to consume us. So much so that we give up on people in general, family and friends. We hide in our closets and invite no one into our life and we become bitter, complacent, and stale. We no longer feel or see the need to be faithful to our church and in the midst of fellowship. We find ourselves digging deeper and deeper into a pit.
I asked a 90 plus year old friend of mine once; How have you managed to live all these years, dealing with the hardships of your life that you've had and yet remain so faithful to Christ? Her answer; "I keep company with Jesus". WOW!!!
The demands of this world can just flat out be exhausting! But with Jesus we can have peace, joy, freedom, grace and mercy.
For me, when I place myself at the service of our Lord I find that everything else falls into place somehow, sometime and somewhere along life's way.

Without JESUS, how do we even manage to get out of bed in the morning? What an awesome Savior we have and it's so humbling at just how much He loves us!! AWESOME post...and I love the advice from the older CHRISTian lady that she just keeps company with JESUS!!! Love you, sweet Lady. HOPE you have an awesome day!
ReplyDeleteI read this recently and I love it: When ever you need to re-direct your thoughts, just whisper my name....Jesus

A wonderful message Cindy. I have had the 'I am' syndrome. But Hallelujah I am a child of the great I AM who gives me the strength to overcome. Hope your day is happy and blessed!
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you that this is something that my husband and I are dealing with...worn out! Tired and burned out. We are doing all the work in our little church and it seems everyone is ok to let us do all the work. We can never take a vacation or the weekend off. We are about ready to step back and let things go, or someone will have to step up.
ReplyDeleteBut I needed to hear this today. I will continue to pray about how to handle it. :)
Oh my...what truth you speak here today, Cindy. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteWonderful guidance on a beautiful verse, Cindy. Thank you. I've pinned your verse, because the graphic is beautiful as well. ~Zuni
