{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

Wednesday in the Word-Tired? Weary? Burned Out?

Am I tired? At times I am. Am I weary? At times I am. Do I get burned out? At times I do. I think we all suffer at one time or another with different things that come into our daily lives. I had a sweet sister in the Lord just openly share her heart with me that she was burned out on religion. The thing is that if religion is what we are seeking we will become burned out quick like!

The thing I KNOW is that our walk with Christ is not without struggles nor suffering.
He never promised us that it would be. He did promise us that He would never leave nor forsake us no matter what. I find comfort in that promise.

When we are dealing with being tired, worn out, sad, afraid, unsure, or whatever it is that is going on in our life if we are not very careful we will allow it to consume us. So much so that we give up on people in general, family and friends. We hide in our closets and invite no one into our life and we become bitter, complacent, and stale. We no longer feel or see the need to be faithful to our church and in the midst of fellowship. We find ourselves digging deeper and deeper into a pit.

I asked a 90 plus year old friend of mine once; How have you managed to live all these years, dealing with the hardships of your life that you've had and yet remain so faithful to Christ? Her answer; "I keep company with Jesus". WOW!!!

The demands of this world can just flat out be exhausting! But with Jesus we can have peace, joy, freedom, grace and mercy.

For me, when I place myself at the service of our Lord I find that everything else falls into place somehow, sometime and somewhere along life's way.

  6. I have to tell you that this is something that my husband and I are dealing with...worn out! Tired and burned out. We are doing all the work in our little church and it seems everyone is ok to let us do all the work. We can never take a vacation or the weekend off. We are about ready to step back and let things go, or someone will have to step up.
    But I needed to hear this today. I will continue to pray about how to handle it. :)

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
