{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

A little Creativity plus lots of Talking equals a GREAT time!

I love it when I see a little creativity comes together, especially with sweet friends!

 Isn't this little jar just a beauty! I've decided to name her Rose. She isn't mine but I still named her. Don't you just love that chalk paint color? So sweet! My friend created Rose and I can tell you now that she almost accidentally of course came home with me! LOL!

Some of us gals decided to have a girls day and do a little creating. Well, I think we actually talked a lot more than we created but we sure did have a good time. Let me share some of our little creations.....

 We have a little Shabby Chic going on here....
And isn't her eye makeup just so pretty? The things we women notice right?

 Think Peacock...Just wait till you see the finished product!Absolutely beautiful!

A beautiful color of green is the making here and Jade at that! Love me some jade color!

Think Willow...angel, and upside down jar!!!! Stunning piece!

For me it was lace, jewels and beads....I was allowing my Southern Belle to showcase itself!

 This sweet friend decided she would not participate in a craft however, she organized a book and magazine swap for us and just wanted to be a part of our wonderful fellowship!

And a SWAP it was! WOW! We had so many different books and magazines to choose from! I loved it.

We had everything you could imagine to help us CREATE...and CREATE we did!

Shabby Chic style turned out perfect. I love how she used the key. Such a sweet added touch to this pretty blue jar with roses.Yes, Miss Felicity was perfect.

Don't you just love the color and embellishments? I named her Miss Prissy Peacock because she looks like she has class as she struts her stuff!

Awe...and then we have Miss Jade. (Yes, I name everything) Isn't she lovely? Looks like a wonderful vintage piece to have to me! So elegant.

Pink and lace with a rhinestone. Doesn't she look like something that Miss Melanie would have sitting in her powder room on "Gone with the Wind"?  So Miss Melanie it was!

And I think this was a favorite for everyone. "Miss Willow" of Angel Town. A simple jar turned upside down with an angel in it!!! Just beautifully adorned isn't she?

I don't know why but I decided that her name would be Hillary. I love how the chalk paint turned out and the purple and green colors just go so well together. Then add a sparkling green earring to it and well...you got simplicity with a touch of class.

Miss Bubblegum (because her color reminded me of bubblegum) was made using a frappuccino bottle, some pearls, a piece of decorative paper and a broken earring. Dainty little thing but oh so cute.

Or how about a tin can using a piece of decorative paper with some lace and pearls?

Or it can hold a few napkins....
The ideas are endless! I think it would be adorable to store makeup brushes in too. OH...yes her name....Frenchy! She is from FRANCE....see the Eiffel tower on her?

We had so much fun!

I decided to make a little gift with a jar for my friends too.

When I think of summer time I think LEMONADE! And of course yellow and daisy's go hand in hand to me!

 Nothing says lemonade better than a good old Mason jar right? I had some leftover Easter grass left from Easter and placed it in the bottom of the jar. Added a single serving of Wyler's lemonade and a real lemon. Used twine and yellow ribbon to tie the straw onto the jar and hot glued a daisy.

I added a tag...Oh taste and see that the Lord is Good....and that He is!

What's her name? Oh I thought you would never ask!!! Her name of course is Daisy!

And I must share my newest coffee cup one of my sweet friends gave me....I love it!

AIN'T it the truth?

We brought a sack lunch and just thoroughly enjoyed visiting with one another. As we decided...We must make time for the little things in life....Life is so short and will pass us by quickly. And where oh where would we be without our girlfriends?

I hope that you have enjoyed our creative moments. We sure did!

I am joining Linda from Coastal Charm today for her Show and Share linky party. Pop over and take a peek...

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
