{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

How about a little {Funday Monday}.

Happy Monday!

Let's start our week out with a few fun questions. We haven't done this in a while so let's have fun.

1: What is your favorite season and why?

 Web image

2: If you could choose another first name for yourself what would it be?
 3: If you had the opportunity to vacation at one of these places all summer long where would it be? The mountains, lake or beach?

 Web image

 BONUS QUESTION: What has been your latest {DIY} project?

 My answers:

1: What is your favorite season and why?I guess I would say Fall. (of course in Florida it's about the same all year it seems) But for me Fall speaks quietness, serenity, the smell of candy apples and pumpkin bread, a gentle breeze that says, "sit outside on the front porch and hang out a while". Without sweating! LOL!

2: If you could choose another first name for yourself what would it be?
Actually I would want to be called by first and middle names...Emily Grace.

3: If you had the opportunity to vacation at one of these places all summer long where would it be? The mountains, lake or beach?
Ooh, that's a hard one because my first thought was "Mountains". Actually I'd rather be in the mountains in Winter. So, my answer would be the beach. Awe...yes, a nice beach house and my children/grands could come and go as they pleased.

Bonus question:
What has been your latest {DIY} project?
 I've always got something going so it's hard to say but I guess the last project I actually started and completed was over the weekend. Painted a wooden box I got from a yard sale with a chalk paint recipe. I loved how it turned out.

Hope you have a great week and remember...stop and have some fun along the way of life this week!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. What a fun Monday post! I loved reading your answers, Cindy!C

    1: What is your favorite season and why?
    I love them all! I lived in a place where there was only one season, Hot! So now, I'm so happy to enjoy each of them! Is this fair not to have one favorite?

    2: If you could choose another first name for yourself what would it be?
    At one time, a kid, I wanted to be called by my Daddy's name...Randy, but spelled Randi! Silly~

    3: If you had the opportunity to vacation at one of these places all summer long where would it be? The mountains, lake or beach?
    Ooh, that's IS a hard one! Beach, I suppose!

    Bonus question:

Same name, just reversed since I have always been called Jackie (always make the first name of a child the name you intend to call them). 3. Mountains, absolutely love the western NC area or the eastern TN area. 4. Too old to worry about a project anymore. Like the other person said, I am doing good to even cook. 11. Although I love all the seasons, my favourite is Autumn...the colours of the leaves changing, the brisk, fresh winds, cooler temperatures and my birthday is in the Autumn. :) I would choose "Evelyn". No reason other than just liking the name. I would love to spend time at the lake! I love the water, but not necessarily swimming in it or sunbathing, I just love the fresh smell, the sound, the reflections and I love to go on a boat, too. My latest project is organizing my apartment, which I love to do.

    What a fun post, Cindy! :)

  12. Hi Cindy, My favorite seasons are summer and fall...if I must pick one, it's summer, because I like gardening and I like long hours of daylight. If I had to pick another name for myself, wow...never thought about that and I really like the names Shelby and Dana and Josey, but they don't fit me. How about Julie? Yes, Julie. I like the mountains best. We really love Estes Park, Colorado and have been there more times than any other vacation spot. (I want to move there!) Fun quiz, Thanks, Cindy!

  13. Loved all your answers..here's mine. I love cooler weather, I guess my favorite season is the fall. I've learned to like my name but as a little girl I always wanted to be Debbie.
    I would love to go to the mountains. Where I live it's very flat..mountains would be a nice change. Latest DIY project, it's been a while. hmmm...does cross stitch count? Today was fun!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
