Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
I found a whoopie pie pan at AC Moore and since I had a coupon for 55% off one regular item I decided to buy it. Now I didn't exactly make mine like the like the ones shown...I did doll them up a bit.
I made too much butter cream icing so hey, why not use it, right?
How about a little salted caramel?
Chocolate chips always makes a good topping don't ya think?
Found me two cute fish plates. I just had to have them for 50 cents each. Perfect for two!
Who needs a meal after this appetizer?
I drug out my trusty electric roaster and roasted and a couple of chickens. It's great for cooking in large quanities. I guess the last time I used it was in the summer while at the beach. I made a pulled pork in it.
I made a baked chicken fettuccine casserole with my roasted chicken and it was sooooo good! I also made a dear friend a pan for her birthday. Just can't go wrong with chicken!
Despite the heat I still have beautiful flowers blooming.
The grass may wither and the flowers fade but one thing is for sure my friends, the Word of God will stand forever! AMEN!
And I don't think I need to say much about this picture....Hee-hee!
Have a good week!
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
I sooooo wish I could have a whoopie pie with you, Cindy! Your chickens, casserole and appetizers look awfully scrumptious, too. Your little grand girl is the cutest thing! I had my little Harper here for two nights and she was so happy to be here. My son said that she wouldn't "shut up about" coming to Nana's house. Don't they make us happy?
ReplyDeleteMay you have a wonderful week, my friend!
Oh I know that Miss Harper is having fun with Nana! Thanks Kitty for stopping by today.
DeleteThat is the cutest picture ever of that grandgirl! Made me smile and laugh! I wish I had one of those whoopie pies Cindy. Your flowers still look pretty. I have battled with my flowers due to heat and not watering them like I should. Yep with an appetizer like that who needs a meal.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Connie, glad you had a smile and a laugh today friend. We try to water our stuff but with the showers we've not had too lately. That appetizer winded up being our meal! LOL!
DeleteThat baby girl is gorgeous!!! And, those whoopie pies....mercy, I think I gained even more weight just looking at the pics. Yes, salted caramel, please!!! ;-) HOPE you all aren't going to be affected by Irma....so very scary.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. I love salted caramel on anything! Yes we are all praying about Irma. Praying God chooses to have mercy and grace upon us one more time.
DeleteYour whoopie pies and that chicken casserole both look amazing! When you know fall is coming, food just seems so much better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacey. I must say that my chicken dish was so stinking good. I could have eaten that every day I do think. But I like pasta's.
DeleteWhat fun you've had with the whoopie pan! I've never seen one, but yours look absolutely scrumptious! I haven't made them in years, in fact thanks for the reminder, I may need to make some! Love the chicken and casseroles you made, they look so wonderful too, and how wonderful that you had enough to share a pan with a friend! What a blessing! Glad your flowers are still blooming, mine are hanging in there too. Hugs to you today :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Marilyn. With this storm brewing not so sure those flowers will last much longer. It's either lack of water or too much water.
