{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{If You're Happy And You Know It Clap Your Hands}

Do you remember singing that song as a child or singing it to your children and maybe now even your grandchildren? Have you ever woke up singing? I know that sounds crazy but I woke up this morning with that cute little song on my lips. AND all I can say about that is that it must have been from GOD HIMSELF because I was late getting to bed and it was raining when I awoke this morning and I wasn't thinking HAPPY! LOL!

Remember the chair makeover I shared by simply giving it a fresh coat of paint? I loved how the blue just popped and grandgirl looks adorable sitting in the cute blue chair.

Her birthday is in two weeks but we snapped a few pictures of her prior to her birthday and we celebrated with a family party yesterday afternoon. We have lots of birthdays going on right now.

She already has a little farmer tan going on. This child starts turning brown as soon as she gets a little sun. She looked like the Coppertone baby last summer.
I managed to snap some really cute pictures and will share some more next week. For some reason her mama thinks she needs to be the first one to share pictures so guess I will wait! LOL!

 My niece made her cake and it turned out adorable.

She had so much fun at her little party. Us GROWN kids did too!

We had a weekend of soccer, basketball and soft ball with the grands. Love watching the kids play ball but with my crew growing in numbers I am finding that we have to pick and choose and take turns. But, I am so glad that they do what they love and love what they do. Besides, it keeps them active.

We managed to make a trip to purchase lighting for the kitchen. That is now marked off my list. Now to have time to install them......I will have to show you a picture after we install them. Girls, I am checking things off my list slowly but surely for my "Kitchen Makeover".

I did get my family beach trip booked for summer and that is very exciting! Oh I will be going to the beach before summer but at least my 7 days with the family has been booked. Thank you Jesus for all things and that includes the beach because I am ready to lay in a lawn chair and read a good book! That is if this Florida weather will cooperate!

I do hope you all have a great week.
"This is the day that the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it". Psalm 118:24

    1. Thank you. She is a cutie. Has our families heart for sure. I love the beach. Marty used to dislike beach. But after first year of going with the family he loves to go too. Mainly to relax and rest. I am wanting to dig my toes in the sand. However, our weather has got to change a little before heading to the beach.

But we do enjoy our family beach trips .

  29. Cindy,
    Me again!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! I have always known that we would not be able to stay in our home as we got older. The steps both to get into our house and the ones inside our house are going to be the death of me. I am tired of constantly putting money into our house. My sons live in an apartment complex where thie heat and water are included in their rent along with all their appliances. They have 24 hours mantenance and if something breaks, it is fixed almost immediately and they do not have to pay for it!! Plus they do not have to pay taxes either!! That souns pretty good to me!! I am looking at 10 years down the road because it will take me 10 years to downsize....
    Happy Easter!!
    Hugs,
    Deb

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
