{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Let's Chat}

Girls Talking Clip Art
Web image

How about we have a little chat and get to know one another a little better? It's funny at just how long we can know someone and yet we find ourselves saying, "Oh, I didn't know that about you!". So let's get started shall we?

Finish this sentence:

1: I would not get caught dead without....

My LIPSTICK! I am that gal that loves her lipstick. What can I say? My granny always said even if you don't have any makeup on, paint those lips! LOL! And, I have told my girls that even if they choose to close my coffin they best have my lipstick on!

2: Apple Pie, Banana pudding, or brownies and ice cream. What's your pleasure?
Brownies and ice cream hands down.

3: If you could be a guest on any TV show which would it be?
Chopped, Pioneer Woman, Bobby Flay,  or any cooking show really. (love the cooking shows)

4: What gets on your nerves worse than anything at this time of your life?
Oh lawd...hope I don't offend anyone but my answer would be sitting in a restaurant trying to enjoy a meal with my man and the couple next to us have screaming children that do just that the entire time....scream! I don't mind a cry, a little misbehaving and well, I think you get it. Been there and done that! But SCREAMING the whole time? NOPE, just ain't gonna do it. I will ask to be moved.

5: What is something that can make the hair on the back of your neck rise and your face turn red? People being rude to old people! People being RUDE period will set me off but especially to old people!

6: If you have a day all to yourself, nothing really on the agenda, what do you like to do?
Watch movies. My man is not one to just sit and watch movies especially if it's chick flicks so if he's not home and I have nothing really to do, I love to pile up with a few movies, popcorn, and diet coke. Oh yeah, and a Reese's peanut butter cup!

7:  If tonight you knew that you were eating your last supper....What would the meal of your choice be? Fried chicken, mustard greens with a big old fat ham hock in it, mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuits with syrup or honey, and cheesecake.

BONUS Question:
If you were to describe your thoughts on life right now which would it be?
A: Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you will get?
B: Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important. Capture the good times and if things don't work out then take another shot.
C: Like is like a roller coaster. It has it's ups and downs but it's your choice to scream or enjoy the ride?
My answer right now in current life situation would be B.

I hope that you all have a safe and fun July 4th holiday. We plan to stay home and grill hamburgers and hot dogs. Keeping it simple.

I will leave you with this today.............

"We celebrate our freedom on the 4th of July, or Independence day, but our real freedom came at the expense of God's own Son. It was a freedom from the bondage of sin because of Jesus, who died for all who would believe in Him, and, truly, we were free at last"....Pastor Jack Wellman

  2. Love that last quote from the pastor. So very true! yes, I need lipstick to make me look alive. (so, even if I'm dead, put some lipstick on me, please/! Ha) I agree about screaming children. Grocery stores, restaurants, Walmart...parents please take care of your children. I know, I've been there, but thankfully I tried really hard to be considerate of others, and also considerate of my children's needs to not be out when they were tired, sick, hungry,etc. Sometimes you just have to change your plans for the sake of the kids. They are more important than the parents' need to go out to eat, etc. Timing is everything. I love old movies too, esp. if I am home alone...(which rarely happens anymore since we are both retired) I was thrilled last week to actually get my hubby to watch some old movies with me that I recorded on the DVR from TCM. (Cary Grant movies are always great). He enjoyed them too. Have a happy 4th of July. WE are doing hot dogs and hamburgers too.

  11. 1: I would not get caught dead without....Lord forbid I am not held together by safety pins or shaving my chin hairs...LOL! 2: Apple pie in a heartbeat...love a fruit pie over chocolate any day. 3. Downton Abbey as one of the "help". 4: If you are going to offend, I am too...YES...why don't some young people make their little ones mind anymore...in many different scenarios. All I can say is they are just asking for trouble down the road! 5: What is something that can make the hair on the back of your neck rise and your face turn red? Political correctness and people being just plain mean and cruel...to humans AND to animals. 6: Give me my camera and a beautiful day...I would get lost in the country and it would be fine if I never came across another human being. 7: If tonight you knew that you were eating your last supper....My meal of choice would be filled with carbs and would include a supreme pizza, a big fat gooey cinnamon roll and pies of all kinds. Hey, I'm gonna die anyway, right?? BONUS Question: Like both B & C but mostly B since it includes a camera. :)

    Fun post, dear friend! HUGS!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
