Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
I saw this posted and thought it was the funniest thing.
Our Family has a yearly Fall party at my fatherinlove's home and has for as long as I can remember. Lots of fun watching the kids have so much fun and adults. Always so much food, candy and fun. Wanted to share a little of our family fun with you all today.
As you can see we have lots of kiddos to have fun with and some could not be there.
And the grand girl that came as the bubble gum machine actually made some money. She would asked, "Do you wanna buy a piece of bubble gum? I think she left with $1.50. Smart girl!
My grands sure had a great time.
Lots of games, fishing pond, pumpkin carving, dancing and more was enjoyed. We live in the country but I can assure you our bunch can be heard for miles around. LOL!
Baby girl had all the partying she cared for.
Oh I must show you my first sunflower to bloom. I began planting them the first year after my motherinlove went home to be with the Lord in her memory as she loved sunflowers. I thought it so ironic this year that the first one bloomed 2 days before the anniversary date of her home going.
In Memory of my motherinlove...Jeanette.
Now....they are popping up everywhere!
God is GOOD!
I hope that you share time with family and friends too and enjoy each moment that the Lord gives to you.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Fun, fun!! That Pepsi is a hoot!

ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Connie we’ve been doing this since my girls were all small and now we do it with our grown children’s kids . So far I’ve had luck with the sunflowers . Just not used to them blooming as early as these did . God must have had a reason .❤️
DeleteWhat a happy bunch and they surely did have lots of fun! You have a big family. Your sunflowers are wonderful and what a lovely thing to plant them in memory of your mother-in-law! To me, they all look like they're smiling. Have a wonderful week, Cindy, filled with joy. Blessings...Sandi

DeleteOh how fun! What a wonderful thing to do to celebrate fall. Who needs trick-or-treat after all of that fun? And I can only imagine how much work it is to put that together...wow! Your grands are so adorable...Baby Girl looks like a real live doll baby. Yes, the Lord most definitely had His awesome hand in the blooming (and the timing) of those glorious sunflowers! I love it when He blesses his children in ways we could never imagine, yet we recognize it was HIM! Have a blessed week, dear friend.♥
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying that baby girl . Most everyone pitches in with everything with our parties in some way or another so that is a true blessing . Yes indeed friend . Yu are so right about the ways God shows himself to us .
DeleteYour Fall party looked like such fun! I loved seeing those happy looking sunflowers, too! What a wonderful reminder of a special lady. I enjoy seeing my mom’s lilies, irises and other plants for her garden. It reminds me that even though she’s gone home to Heaven, she’s still with me! Blessings to you this week! Zenda
ReplyDeleteThanks Zenda . I can’t look at a sunflower without being reminded of her . You would have loved her . She was a special lady .
DeleteOh, what fun, my friend! I agree with Pam, everyone looks amazing and their smiles couldn't get any bigger :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting a smile on my face :) Love and hugs to you!
Awe thanks Stephanie . You just put a smile on my face 😊
DeleteOh Cindy, Your grandkids will never forget all the fun at your house growing up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie . We have our fall party at my fatherinlove’s Home but we have a party at my house every time they walk in the door 😂
DeleteThat just looks like SO much fun! And oh, that little baby girl!!! She is adorable! :) Our friend Matt who married us in Louisiana was sharing that Miss Kay Robertson was having a fall party with hot dogs, etc, and I was like, "I hate hot dogs, but I'd eat one for Miss Kay! I wanna go!" lol Someday I'll get back there...But anyways, I love fall gatherings, of all sorts!
ReplyDeleteGirl we had hotdogs , pulled pork , potato salad , macaroni salad , chips , dips , and desserts galore . We don’t hurt for food 😂
DeleteEveryone looks so cute but that littlest one . . . .Oh My!!
ReplyDeleteAwe thanks so much . Yep , i think she might be a keeper .😂
DeleteOh the fun of it all!!
ReplyDeleteJust scrolling through those awesome photos made me feel as if I was there in the midst of it all. :}
You certainly do have a wonderful family and you are doing all that you can in making the most of your days and memories.
That little sweetie in her "gum ball" costume was darling!
Years ago, and I mean years, I dressed up as a bag of M & M's using a black garbage bag.
That dad had a great idea using that girls hair for her costume, way too cute!
Thank you for sharing your family with us ~
I too loved her gum ball costume . Something different . The kids had a ball and as always , making lots of good memories . Love the m and m idea .
DeleteLooks like such fun for all. Love the gumball costume, too cute! So neat for families to share special times such as this.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea. Lots of fun was had by all for sure. Not only for the kids but the adults got all into a few of the games.
DeleteOh what fun! So nice to see the adults (guys!) get in on the fun too. I love sunflowers and haven't grown them for years. They just prick my heart with happiness. How sweet to plant one for your mother-in-love.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann Marie. Yes, there''s a few of our men that LOVE to get in on the fun for sure. The sunflowers are blooming one by one now. I only wish they lasted longer.
DeleteY'all have soooo much fun! I need to move to Florida! LOL So many kiddos....I'm betting you're the one who organizes all of this, right? It seems like something you'd do! Such a precious story about the sunflowers, Cindy. It's like getting a smile from your mother-in-love! Love you, Friend!
ReplyDeleteNo mam Deb I am not the one that organizes it. My daughter Melissa took it upon herself to hopefully keep this tradition going and I am thankful. It is always a blessing to see your kids pick up where we have all left off and run with it. Everyone pitches in with something. Whether it be decorating, cooking, baking, prizes, games and etc. In all honesty, I was a tad under the weather that day battling a cold/sinus/mess. My main job was holding the baby! LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! LOL! Yes, I feel like she is smiling indeed with the sunflowers.
DeleteWOW...you DO have a big family. So glad you could all get together for this wonderful party time..
ReplyDeleteYou can save the sunflower seeds, dry and plant all over the place next year. I love them, too.
BJ these seeds were actually my sister's heirlooms from her sunflowers. I was going to dry mine from last year but between it being so wet and birds those poor seeds didn't stand a chance. So glad I had my sister's heirlooms to plant this year.
DeleteHi Cindy, I enjoyed all the pictures. Looks like so much fun! Those sunflowers are so cool! You are blessed!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. I am enjoying seeing those pretties pop up here and there.
DeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and happy fall celebration for young and adults too. Your sunflowers are amazing, it speaks of love and creation. Have a great weekend
Love and creation! I love that! Thanks so much for stopping by.
DeleteWhat a lovely and fun time the kiddos (and adults) have every year at your father-in-love's home for the fall party! It is always fun to see how your family has fun. :)
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers are gorgeous. I have my mother-in-law's Thanksgiving cactus and I had never seen it bloom until the first Thanksgiving or Christmas after she passed away. It is full of bloom right now!
Oh how wonderful Dianna that you have the Cactus and now have seen it bloom. It is just refreshing in so many ways as it reminds us of our loved ones. Yes, the kiddos sure have fun each year at the Fall Party.
DeleteWhat a special family event this is! How wonderful to get together and have such a good time with everyone! Loved the pictures of you and the littlest one, she is so precious, looks just like her sister, except with a full head of black hair! So much fun to have your sweet grandbabies around you! And oh how precious that the sunflowers continue to grow in your Mother-in_love's memory! Many blessings and hugs to you sweet friend :)
ReplyDeleteYes she and her sister do favor. Her sister had that head of black hair and look how light it is now. They both are sweet girls. We are blessed to have our grands so close by.
DeleteHi Cindy, love that you celebrate with your family. What a sweet family you have. The sunflowers are a lovely memory for your Mother-in-law. Fun times for all. Blessings
