{So, Inquiring Minds Want To Know}

I do hope this finds you all having a WONDERFUL Monday! Those dang Mondays just roll around real quick don't they?

Aren't they pretty? My sweet Mallory and Kyleigh gave these to me.

So, I am wondering...
Do you have lots of trick-or-treaters on Halloween night? If so, just curious, how much do you spend on candy to give out?

I have been enjoying some pumpkin spice hot tea lately. Don't you just love my tea cup and saucer? What about my little angels?

Since Fall is in the air...well, in most places that is....what is your favorite of these?

Hayride or Bonfire?
Hot Chocolate or Apple Cider
S'mores by the campfire or Homemade Soup?

My daughter and I carried our sweet Adalynn to see The Fairy tales and Princess Play at our local high school with singing and acting and she loved it! We enjoyed milk, cookies, and coffee with the Princesses too. Nana loved every minute......

PRICELESS!

Speaking of Fall...
What's your pleasure...
Apple Pie, Candy Apple, Caramel Apple, Apple Tart, or Apple Cake?

My man and Fatherinlove getting  their muzzle loaders and rifles sighted in.I just love seeing them do what they love and love what they do...together

Last curious question for today....

Let's say that the temps are cold and brisk. You have no where to go really and nothing on your agenda to do. Which of these would you consider doing?

Stay home in pj's, drink hot chocolate or coffee, and watch movies? OR....
Put on a cute sweater and some boots and go shopping?

And here's a free printable for you from Frugally Fantastic

Now here's my answers in case your little old mind may be inquiring.....

1: NO...we never have any trick or treaters. We live in the country and all the little one's that used to come to our house many years ago to trick or treat are now grown with their little ones. Our community has so many different churches that do so much for our community that lots of kids participate in those activities or they go to the larger well lighted areas where the homes are near one another.  But, I do buy a little bit of candy just in case...and I figure the worse that can happen is I will be the one to eat the candy! HOWEVER...I have heard HORROR stories on money spent on candy! I might be glad we don't have trick or treaters. LOL!

2: Bonfire hands down!
Hot chocolate but I do enjoy apple cider occasionally.
 Homemade soup! YUM!

3: Caramel apple....

4: Depends on my mood but most likely I would LOVE to stay home in my pj's, drink hot chocolate or coffee and watch movies! OH...and I will most likely add a good old chocolate chip cookie to that list! LOL!

I do hope you all have a great week and remember.....

  1. LOVE the pictures and especially of that adorable Snow White! How fun Cindy. We have party at church on Halloween night so we are never at home to give out candy. But we give out tons of it at church. Bonfire, Smores and hot chocolate would be my favorite and I am making an Apple cake this weekend. YUM! YES, stay at home in my pj's! Fun post Cindy.

    1. Thank you Connie. She had so much fun and so did Marti Leigh and I. Our church will be doing the Trunk or Treat on Halloween night too. Plus we host a Fall Festival for one of our local schools as well to help them raise money to purchase something needed.

    1. Thanks Heather. The look on her face just melted my old heart. Love seeing things through the eyes of a child. YES....I want a bonfire! I love outside fires as I call them! LOL!

  3. And...we don't get many trick or treaters...so that's why I host the Chili Cook off in the neighborhood!

    1. I know you are probably already gearing up for the chili cookout aren't you? You always have so much fun. I know your neighbors look forward to it.

  4. By the time I get to the end, I've just about forgotten what the first question was!!! We don't have trick-or-treaters any more, but did when we first lived here. Plus...I don't turn the lights on, I've turned into the Halloween scrooge (I really don't like to celebrate the holiday). I love your little angels. I'd prefer a bonfire and hot chocolate, and both S'mores and homemade soup (I love my food...LOL) Out of the choices, I'd prefer the apple pie! If it's really cold out, I'd much rather be home than anywhere else! There's no place like home! Your granddaughter is adorable and her Momma is gorgeous (just like you). Happy Monday!

    1. Thanks Deb on your sweet compliment. We had so much fun with that sweet girl at the play. I am about to ready to make a pot of good old homemade soup. But I love soups all year round. Yes I love my angels too. The same sweet sister in Christ gave me both! And you are so right....THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

  5. No trick or treaters in our neighborhood out in the country.

    Apple cake please.

I never spend the day in my pajamas. I like to get dressed and must have mascara to feel awake!

    1. Oh I would love to spend the day in PJ's, no make on, no hair done, and maybe...I just might brush my teeth! LOL! Just teasing Stacey on the TEETH! Girl, we might be glad we live out that we don't have treaters. I am still sitting here in shock at what some folks I know spend on CANDY! But to each their on I reckon. Thanks for coming by.

  6. Okay, I will try to answer the questions, but probably not in order, since I have to scroll back up and down to see them...No, we don't have trick or treaters where we are here in the forest. Too dark, too many bears, and really no children in our "neck of the woods". The local churches, etc., have trunk or treat or other parties for the kiddos, which is much safer. i do love your teacup and angels...so sweet. I love hot tea, especially now, and will probably add some spiced teas to the "menu" during the upcoming months. I do like hot ovaltine in the winter...and I love bonfires, s'mores, but I would never turn down a chance to go on a hayride again! Love them. But I also love homemade soup and real apple cider, hot or cold. Your precious little princess is adorable. What joy to have a sweet little girl to love! You are so blessed! I love apple pie...still waiting for my homemade apple pie that was supposed to be for my birthday on Sept. 25th, but due to conflicts, illness, etc. on the part of others it still hasn't happened. I guess I'll have to bake my own late birthday apple pie if I really want one that bad...(but it's no fun without others to enjoy it with me)... On cold, chilly gray days I love to stay home, sip hot tea, read a good book...and have a no makeup/no hairdo day...but have to pray no one stops in for a surprise visit! LOL. Thank you for these fun questions. Fall (Autumn) is my favorite season, and I enjoy anything that has to do with it. Since we are now in the process of trying to sell our house, I am not going overboard with decorations, etc., trying to keep it simple and easy to clean. But I can still celebrate the season by just being thankful and joyful every day...praying now that HUrricane Michael fizzles out...

  7. Pam, I too am praying that hurricane just pilfers away! MERCY! I don't blame you on not trying to over-decorate with trying to sell your home. I keep telling myself that less is more and simple is less stress anyway! No hair do and no makeup sounds like a winner for at least a day to me too! Glad you stopped by.

  10. Your princess is too cute!

We usually get around 20 trick-or-treaters. I also make sure that I get candy that I like in case there are any leftovers...There are ALWAYS leftovers. HA!

When it's cold outside, I hibernate indoors in cozy pjs, drink tea and watch dvds.

  11. Oh Cindy! Your posts are always SO fun! What a darling time you had with the little Princess! Priceless indeed :) We have no little ones to visit on H'ween where we live now. Kids only visit churches and community centers where it is safer. However, I can tell you that the very first home we owned was in a neighborhood where kids from miles around came to visit. I thought I had bought a lot of candy the first year, and ran out in the first 30 minutes. The next year I started buying candy all year long, and still ran out! The next year... we moved! Ha!

I love anything that fall serves up, cake, candy, fires, hay rides... all of it :) But most of all, I enjoy drinking tea again after the hot summer. My daughter and I had an impromptu tea party this afternoon. She has one of those nasty bugs going around. Tea always makes one feel better! Hoping that hurricane passes you by! Will be praying that it does! Hugs to you sweet friend :)

    1. Thank you dear lady. Your tea party sounds fun and I do hope that your girl is feeling better. In doing so much research with arthritis I have found that black tea is wonderful to help with inflammation. I may be drinking lots more tea! Yes, we are praying about the hurricane. Several things are beginning to shut down in prep. I so pray it flutters out! Thanks for praying.

  12. Hi Cindy, I love fall though we really don't get much of it here. I love to decorate and I have pictures at my blog. I won't be putting as much out as I usually do because we are going to Hawaii after Thanksgiving and we want to get Christmas decorations up before we leave. I will be finished with my 2 Bible groups in the next two weeks. We hope to take the grands to a pumpkin patch to experience some of the fall things. How about a hay ride pulled by a tractor. Your grand daughter looks so cute as a princess! Happy Fall!

    1. I knew your Hawaii trip was coming up soon. Can't wait to see pictures. How many times will this make that you have been there now? I would love to go one day. We have a pumpkin patch we try to carry the kids too each year as well. I am wanting cooler temps and right now at least they are in the 80's. Thanks for coming by.

  13. Happy Tuesday to you Cindy! Those are tough questions for me, because I enjoy it all according to my mood. We also live in the country and we never have trick or treaters. All of our churches have so much to offer the children. That little grand is too cute!

    1. Yes our churches here offer so much as well and it is so much safer for sure. But we do have some wonderful places in our town that a parade of homes really goes all out for the kids. Have a good day Pam.

  14. Hi Cindy! what fun for you, your daughter and granddaughter to go to the play together!
I do have trick or treaters and probably spend under $20 for candy.
I love bonfires, s'mores and homemade soup!
I love apple pie and apple tarts and apple cake!
Staying home being comfy is always perfect for me.
I'm hoping that all is safe with you and this hurricane that's coming. I'm still praying for you, my friend! xx

  15. So happy to visit with you, sweet friend! Same here on the trick-or-treaters ~ we don't get too many, either, but I like to have some candy to bless the little ones with in case they happen by. :) Kevin and Zach are happy to eat any leftovers! LOL! It's hard to pick between the hayride and the bonfire because I enjoy both! Hot chocolate, homemade soup, and caramel apple with peanuts would be my other fall choices, and staying home in pjs and drinking coffee sounds wonderful! Thanks for the fun time I always have when I stop by here. :) God bless you ~ oh, that look on your daughter and granddaughter's faces is priceless indeed! Just adorable!!

  16. Your grandaughter’s face is precious as she watched the program!! What a great event for you all!

We don’t get many trick-or-treaters as we, too, live in the country. We have just relatives and a few neighbors, I put together treat bags of candy and pencils, toys, etc. this year I’m thinking of making some chocolate bark-I found some candy eyes that would be fun to use! 👀 Hayrides are always fun, we went one the last several years! Hot chocolate and homemade soup are more Fall favorites. As for the last question, could I do both? I love lounging around, currently binge watching “Cakl the Midwife,” but I’m always ready to head out shopping! I’ve started my Christmas shopping aready! I have lots of extended family members and usually pick a theme. Last year, I made fabric notepad covers for the kids and ladies. I think this year, I’ll be getting everyone Christmas socks. I usually get my nephews (all adults now) Christmas socks about every 3-4 years. They were commenting last year they were starting to get a bit ratty. (Think that was a hint! 😉). Guess I better get out of my pj’s and start shopping! Happy Fall, dear Cindy!

    1. I am wanting to have my Christmas bought, wrapped and ready to go by Thanksgiving this year. I really enjoy the December holidays when I can just go and browse and mess around and not be rushed to have to buy something. I love the idea of having a theme! We have so many extended family members til there is NO WAY I could every buy for them. Dang, my own little family is a family of 14 and that's enough. LOL! I do enjoy giving to others though. I am always more blessed I am sure than they are. Love the idea of notepads. Thanks for coming by dear lady. I know you are enjoying that new grandson.

  17. Fun fall questions! Let's see...first of all, I had me some of that very same tea last week for the first time...it was YUM! We had 0 trick or treaters last year...never had many but they have completely dwindled over the past few years...kinda sad, but I kinda get it. The homes in my rural subdivision are about an acre or more apart with long driveways, no sidewalks and not much lighting. Now, how about a hayride followed by a bonfire? Is that cheating? I do like hot cider but hot chocolate would be my choice with a bowl of hot soup...S'mores make my tongue curl up! I'll take apple pie for my dessert! If it is cold and blustery outside I wish to stay in and hunker under a throw on the couch with my pups...not much of a movie watcher but I might read blogs or a book! Oh, and that is one darling little princess you have there!

Will enjoy them while they last and then sadly watch them wither away...LOL I have a brown thumb so they would die quickly regardless. :-) No trick or treaters here, but we spend a fortune on candy and eat it all ourselves!
