{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

{Blessings Abounding}

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As I have thought about this past week I am truly thankful for all that Christ has done for me and my family. So undeserved and yet He lavishes us with blessing after blessing.

One of those blessings was having a Nana Blessing Basket bake day with the grandgirls.

 Grandgirls had a sleepover at Nana's house and the next morning after breakfast we began our baking.

Each one had their apron on and ready to bake. Well, except for that sweet youngest grandgirl. She just wanted to taste and smile. She smiles all the time. Such a blessing.

It was such a joy to have my grandgirls in the kitchen with me.

My one and only grandson decided that all of us gals might be too much woman power for him so he didn't get in on the baking. But treats was indeed sent home for him.

Oh yes! Give me that beater!

And of course a taste test needed to be done on each item baked you know!

Each granddaughter helped in some way or another. We had so much dessert that we kept some at home, I sent some to all three daughter's homes, and gave a sweet family member some treats. But, the best part of all was making a  "Blessing Basket" for a sweet lady at our church to enjoy.

We gathered up a basket along with candy, hot chocolate, ribbon, Thanksgiving dessert plate, napkin and a card. We assembled the "Blessing Basket", signed her cardand then we stopped...........and we prayed. We prayed over our basket of goodies to be enjoyed but most importantly we prayed over our sweet lady that would receive it.

What better to teach the younger ones that it is ALWAYS better to GIVE than to RECEIVE. To always try to be a blessing to others because I can assure you that you can't out bless God! When we are a blessing to others those blessings come back in full swing and then some. Each week I try to pray...Lord, show me this week who I can be a blessing too in some way. Whether it be by words or action. And girls....I miss it some weeks, I truly do. But, my heart's desire is not only to see my grandchildren grow in Christ but to see them SERVE HIM by SERVING others.

Our sweet lady loved her basket and shared with her grandchildren. What a blessing to be a blessing.

After our family Thanksgiving this year some of my family left Thanksgiving afternoon and went to Georgia to enjoy a little hunting, a little shopping and the birthday girl!
Our Mallory Grace turned 11. We had a great time.

She is my well rounded grandgirl. She can doll up with the best of them...play ball, twirl, and slap some camo on quick like and shoot the biggest buck ever!

We surely had a blessed Thanksgiving and holiday weekend. When shared with those you love the most, it is always a blessing.

Now....time to get my Christmas on!

Free printable I found on the web.

Well, I have decorated some already. I have never been one to put my tree up before Thanksgiving but this year, I finished it the night before Thanksgiving and have most everything decorated except for my tablescape. Most of my gifts are bought and waiting to be wrapped. Girls...it takes me all day now to do what it used to take me 2 hours to do so I had to start early! LOL!

Have a wonderful week and be a blessing to someone. It will truly bless you more.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  2. Wonderful pictures Cindy and yes indeed it a wonderful thing to teach these children it's better to give than to receive. I am afraid there's many adults who never learned this. So much selfishness in our world today. The birthday girl is adorable. I love how you all do life together.

  3. Aw, what a sweet post, Cindy! I have just the opposite; all grandsons and one little granddaughter! Alas, she lives on the opposite side of the country too and I only get to see her every two years. I love the blessing basket idea for your lady friend! I know she was blessed just as you all were to gift it to her. Sounds like you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. The Lord is good! Have a lovely last week of November! Blessings to you all! 1. Thanks Sandi. I got to enjoy the grandson a little over the Thanksgiving weekend. I feel bad for him at times as he is the only boy on both sides of his parents families. Yes, the Lord is good indeed.

  4. You are a treasure, my friend! I love having my grandgirls in the kitchen with me, too. Only I don't have as many as you. The blessing comes in the time spent with them and they with each other and then the biblical life lesson you led them in doing the blessing basket for a dear lady. I had tears in my eyes as I read through all of that. xx I started my decorating for Christmas early this year too...for the same reason. I don't have the tree up yet, but that is this afternoon's project. :) I was hoping to see a picture of yours...maybe next week? xo

I truly felt that maybe, just maybe, she could use a little extra blessing for Thanksgiving. Hope you have a great week dear friend.

  6. Cindy, it looks like you had a wonderful time with the grandgirls! And what a wonderful treat for someone else...to receive the treats you made...truly a blessing. I hope each day that I'm a blessing to someone...but like you, I feel that I fall short of that. I am thankful that God gives me another day to try to be more for Him and for others! Love and hugs!

    1. We did have a great time Benita. Made some sweet memories and laughed a whole bunch. Mercy do I ever fall short in blessing others but I so desire to be a blessing. You know...it really doesn't take a lot either. Sometimes it's simply our words or even a small kind deed.

  18. Love your post and the pictures of your beautiful family. I've started doing a little Christmas decorating, but still not sure about a tree this year. We are trying to sell the house, and just had someone look at it, and if they come back and want it...I don't really want to drag all that stuff out just to have to pack it back up again. So I am waiting a few days to see what develops. Shopping? Well, that's another issue that I won't discuss...it will be very simple and somewhat sparse this year. But we will still celebrate the Birthday of the King no matter what happens or where we are!! Merry Christmas to you and yours. Love what you did with the grandgirls for Thanksgiving. That is beautiful.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
