Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
As most of my friends know, my children and grandchildren have Sunday dinner with me after church each week. Now of course there are those Sundays that for one reason or another we don't, but for the most part we do. I have had friends ask me, "What do you all do after dinner? Take naps? NOPE! Heaven's No! They can sleep when they go home!
My kitchen sign I made last year tells it all. But, when the weather is good we most often go outside, pull out the lawn chairs and have fun. The kids fish, plays ball, rides the 4-wheeler, picks flowers or weeds, LOL, and well, we entertain ourselves. My thing has always been that it did not matter to me if we ate a hot dog, let's just do it together. We are truly blessed. I decided after Sunday dinner we would create our very own little Fairy garden.
My oldest two grandchildren took a little vacation to Universal studios so wasn't here but my other grands has a good time creating their first fairy garden. Well, the baby, 10 months old done her on thing but happily looked on as the other's created.
I found this cute galvanized tub at Walmart for around $9. I am a sucker for galvanized tubs and buckets. Are you?
Even Papa got in on the Fairy garden. I found a cute little fairy starter set for $5 and then I picked up a couple of other items for around $1 each. Added a few flowers from the garden center in Walmart.
I had some cute little stones they wanted to add and for less than $20 we had a fun afternoon creating a Fairy Garden. There may not REALLY be anything magical about Fairies but there is something magical about the fun shared and memories made with family.
I cherish these moments with my family and I try so hard not to take it for granite.
I wanted to end today by asking that you pray for a very special friend of mine. Her name is Judy and she is the wife of the pastor that I work for at a sister church. She had a very serious, extensive, evasive surgery. Half of her esophagus was removed. She has made it home with a feeding tube and health care nurses and she hopes the tube will be removed before long. She is awaiting the pathology report and the surgeon said he feels very good about all the pre-cancer cells being removed. She is a very strong willed woman and that is half the battle. She is doing well but I covet your prayers for her.
She loves shoes better than anyone I know so while my youngest daughter and I were out shopping I asked her if she wanted us to get her some cute shoes for a home going gift. She said, YUP, some cute flip flops. So we done just that for her and they suit her personality so much. She truly loves others.
I even found a cute gift bag with SHOES on it!
I sure would appreciate you praying for my friend.
I hope that you all have a great week and remember, do something kind for someone this week. It will bless you more than it will them.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Oh I just love fairy gardens and yes! galvanized tubs and buckets. Can't ever pass one up. I have also made fairy gardens in old enamel pans and my latest is in an old bird feeder up on a stand. Can't wait for our weather to get warm so I can get mine together. Yours is absolutely adorable! LOVE the unicorn! Sending prayers up for Judy <3
ReplyDeleteYep, I love me some galvanized ANYTHING! My 7 year old granddaughter loves Unicorns so I had to get one you know! LOL! Thanks for praying for Judy.
DeleteNow isn't that little fairy garden just the cutest thing ever? It is pretty obvious by the expressions on your grands' faces that they were having a ball! I will certainly add your friend Judy to my prayer list. It sounds like she is real trooper...and if getting those darling shoes don't make her feel better, well I don't know what will! What a precious gift to her...love the scripture on them! Hugs and blessings to you, dear friend!♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteThank you dear friend. Yes please pray for Judy. She's a tough gal but so needs our prayers.
DeleteCindy, I absolutely love the fairy garden! What a fun thing to do with the kids and I know they loved it. What a sweet family picture with a wonderful saying. You are indeed blessed Cindy.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Thank you Connie.
DeleteHi Cindy, I loved your idea of the fairy garden. I have been thinking of doing something with the grands too now that spring is here. I will keep your friend in prayer. So many people are getting cancer of the esophagus. I have had bad acid reflux and it can be a precursor for problems if not treated. I wrote about it at my blog. I love those cute flip flops! Where did you find them? I like how your family comes over every Sunday. We all see each other at church and usually go out to lunch after. Have a great visit! Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. We are praising the Lord that they feel confident they removed the pre-cancer cells. She has had problems for about 10 years and had to have her esophagus stretched often. Things just really got rough for her with trying to eat and etc. Don't you just love those cute flip flops? Found those at Cato's.
DeleteWill definitely keep her in my prayers! Those shoes are adorable! It looks like you all had a wonderful time making the fairy garden! It is too cute and so are those grands! So glad you are able to get together with them regularly to have fun! Love and hugs sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Benita. The kids really loved it. The nearly 3 year old granddaughter told her mom she wanted to go back to Nana's to see the fairy garden. LOL!
DeleteI love your fairy garden created by you and your grands!! I have mine in an old galvanized round tub. The little ones like it and will rearrange things!
ReplyDeletePrayers will be said for Judy, my friend. Those flip flops are the best!! Judy will love them. Love and hugs to you.....
I am quite sure it will all be rearranged. LOL! Yes, those flip flops are the cutest. I would have gotten me a pair but they did not have any in my size.
DeleteLove the shoes....and the fairy garden is great. I have thought about putting one in my wheel barrel with my plants but I have so much little things hiding here and there in the yard that I just have not done it yet.....
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam . Oh the wheel barrel sounds like an excellent fairy garden .❤️
DeleteYour fairy garden is too cute! I've been wanting to create my own fairy garden (I have a few accessories), but never get around it. Maybe this is the year that I'll finally do it!
ReplyDeleteI'll remember your friend in my prayers.
Thank Margie . I bet you do have some accessories and i get one is a tea cup !😂 thank you for praying for Judy .
DeleteThe fairy garden that you and the grands created is really nice. I've been seeing the tiny pieces that you can buy in order to make one. So far I've resisted.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much . It was lots of fun .Now I’m wanting to do a huge one 😂😂😂 my 7 year old and almost 3 year old is wanting their own fairy gardens . Yep , probably fixing to create them one for their own 😂
DeleteThe Fairy Garden is adorable! What a good idea to do with the little ones!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you to ask for prayer for your friend. I will pray for Judy! May angels minister to her. Those flip-flops are perfect!
Katherine
Thank you so much Katherine.
DeleteAw, it sure looked like you were having a ball with those precious grands! You create such special memories that they will remember for a lifetime and tell their own grands about one day, Lord willing. Thank you for sharing your special moments here on the blog! I am so sorry to hear about your friend, Judy, and surely hope she is much better soon and can get back to living a normal life. God bless her and heal her, in Jesus' precious name!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl We had a good time with the fairy garden. So much so I am thinking I will make the younger girl-grands a small one for their home.
DeleteOh what fun creating the fairy garden was. Would you believe I bought a little set yesterday at Family Dollar with a black fairy.. Can't wait for Ruby Kate to see it! I'm gonna let her help me with it if she can ever get away from school and dance and gymnastics and piano and soccer! ☺ Prayers for your precious Friend for complete healing and lessened pain. Hope you're doing better, sweet Lady! I think about you often. 💜
ReplyDeleteI saw that too Deb. How awesome! Ruby Kate will love it! Thanks for praying for Judy and for me! Love you.
DeleteHow fun to create a fairy garden with your grandchildren! Mine would love that too! The tub is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI grew up having Sunday dinner at my grandmother's every week after church. We did a lot of porch sitting or swinging in the porch swing. I learned much about life listening to my parents, grandmother and aunt talking!
You bless me with every post you write. You have the sweetest outlook on life and are the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I will certainly pray for your friend. I already have! Blessings to you my friend.
Thank you Bonnie. You are precious!
DeleteLove you’re fairy garden and what a fun thing to do with your grands! They will remember doing this with you and you’ll get to see it everyday - win win! Prayers for your friend. I know she loved those sandals. Have a great week! Zenda
ReplyDeleteThanks Zenda. Judy sent me a picture last night with her new flip flops on. She loved them.
DeleteCindy, I will be praying for your friend Judy. My Mother always had us for Sunday lunch after church. After her home-going, we have kept it going. My precious Dad loves for us to be together. What a fun project with your adorable grands. I love the fairy garden that you all made. Blessings sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteI love our Sunday dinners Pam. Someone said to me a while back that with the size of my family they didn't know how I managed to do that each week. I said well, that's simple. "It's because I want too". LOL!
DeleteOh wow, praying for your dear friend now. I do pray that they have gotten all the cancer and that she will soon be able to have the tube removed, etc., and be back to living her life as a busy Pastor's wife. Bless her heart...I know those shoes will bring a big smile to her face! Even the bag would! So thoughtful. And you know I love the Fairy Garden and the fact that you had your sweet grandkids create it with you. How wonderful to do things like that together. You are truly blessed to have your sweet little ones so close by to be able to do these things together. Truly a blessing. Thank you for sharing this with us, and I will be praying for your dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. Judy is doing really well. She's a strong willed lady and that is half the battle. The kids loved doing the fairy garden but I think I might have enjoyed even more. LOL! Always a kid at heart.
DeleteNow, that is such a cute idea and my Gran girls would likely love doing something like that. Yes, you are blessed to have them all nearby to share these special times with. So sorry about your friend. That is a tough, tough surgery and I pray her results are good. And, what a cute and thoughtful gift for her. You always bring a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea so much.
DeleteOh Cindy, what a genius idea to make memories with your grands, I know they think their fairy garden is magical! That is so nice that you have a regular Sunday gathering! I will pray for your shoe loving friend!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Yes, they do indeed think it's magical and I have helped them out with that magic this week too. Hey, people can have an Elf on the shelf? Well I can have a little fun with fairies. LOL!
DeleteI will pray for your friend ASAP !
ReplyDeleteWhat great time you had with those precious children making a little Fairy Garden. Such memories they will cherish when they grow up, remembering the unique times with you every Sunday.

Thanks Debbie so much.
DeleteIt is so wonderful that you and your family get together on Sunday, such precious memories to be made, and oh the joy on the kids faces and yours too as you worked together! I agree... just being together is the most important thing, and I think it is an amazing tradition that you have with your family! Will definitely pray for your sweet friend, and the difficult battle she is facing, I can't imagine losing half of my esophagus, that will be tough, but will sure be praying that the Lord will give her strength and healing for it all! Blessings and hugs to you sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marilyn. Judy is doing really well. She's surely been bathed in much prayer. Yep, I think I enjoyed the fairy garden as much or more than they did! LOL!
