{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{It's a Fairy Kinda Day}

As most of my friends know, my children and grandchildren have Sunday dinner with me after church each week. Now of course there are those Sundays that for one reason or another we don't, but for the most part we do. I have had friends ask me, "What do you all do after dinner? Take naps? NOPE! Heaven's No! They can sleep when they go home!

My kitchen sign I made last year tells it all. But, when the weather is good we most often  go outside, pull out the lawn chairs and have fun. The kids fish, plays ball, rides the 4-wheeler, picks flowers or weeds, LOL, and well, we entertain ourselves. My thing has always been that it did not matter to me if we ate a hot dog, let's just do it together. We are truly blessed. I decided after Sunday dinner we would create our very own little Fairy garden.

  My oldest two grandchildren took a little vacation to Universal studios so wasn't here but my other grands has a good time creating their first fairy garden. Well, the baby, 10 months old done her on thing but happily looked on as the other's created.

 I found this cute galvanized tub at Walmart for around $9.  I am a sucker for galvanized tubs and buckets. Are you?

Even Papa got in on the Fairy garden. I found a cute little fairy starter set for $5 and then I picked up a couple of other items for around $1 each. Added a few flowers from the garden center in Walmart.

I had some cute little stones they wanted to add and for less than $20 we had a fun afternoon creating a Fairy Garden. There may not REALLY be anything magical about Fairies but there is something magical about the fun shared and memories made with family.

I cherish these moments with my family and I try so hard not to take it for granite.

I wanted to end today by asking that you pray for a very special friend of mine. Her name is Judy and she is the wife of the pastor that I work for at a sister church. She had a very serious, extensive, evasive surgery. Half of her esophagus was removed. She has made it home with a feeding tube and health care nurses and she hopes the tube will be removed before long. She is awaiting the pathology report and the surgeon said he feels very good about all the pre-cancer cells being removed. She is a very strong willed woman and that is half the battle. She is doing well but I covet your prayers for her.

She loves shoes better than anyone I know so while my youngest daughter and I were out shopping I asked her if she wanted us to get her some cute shoes for a home going gift. She said, YUP, some cute flip flops. So we done just that for her and they suit her personality so much. She truly loves others.

I even found a cute gift bag with SHOES on it!

I sure would appreciate you praying for my friend.

I hope that you all have a great week and remember, do something kind for someone this week. It will bless you more than it will them.

  2. Now isn't that little fairy garden just the cutest thing ever? It is pretty obvious by the expressions on your grands' faces that they were having a ball! I will certainly add your friend Judy to my prayer list. It sounds like she is real trooper...and if getting those darling shoes don't make her feel better, well I don't know what will! What a precious gift to her...love the scripture on them! Hugs and blessings to you, dear friend!♥♥♥

  4. Hi Cindy, I loved your idea of the fairy garden. I have been thinking of doing something with the grands too now that spring is here. I will keep your friend in prayer. So many people are getting cancer of the esophagus. I have had bad acid reflux and it can be a precursor for problems if not treated. I wrote about it at my blog. I love those cute flip flops! Where did you find them? I like how your family comes over every Sunday. We all see each other at church and usually go out to lunch after. Have a great visit! Hugs

    1. Thanks Susan. We are praising the Lord that they feel confident they removed the pre-cancer cells. She has had problems for about 10 years and had to have her esophagus stretched often. Things just really got rough for her with trying to eat and etc. Don't you just love those cute flip flops? Found those at Cato's.

    I grew up having Sunday dinner at my grandmother's every week after church. We did a lot of porch sitting or swinging in the porch swing. I learned much about life listening to my parents, grandmother and aunt talking!
    You bless me with every post you write. You have the sweetest outlook on life and are the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I will certainly pray for your friend. I already have! Blessings to you my friend.

I do pray that they have gotten all the cancer and that she will soon be able to have the tube removed, etc., and be back to living her life as a busy Pastor's wife. Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
