{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{'Beachin USA'}

Yes, we went to the beach again for a weekend and I know I have told y'all this before but it is truly my "Happy Place" . I could so be a BEACH BUM ! After our last beach trip a few weeks ago several of you asked me these questions so I will answer them for you. For those that sent me a personal email on beach "tips"I replied to you in an email. Q: How can I sit in that sun all day at the beach?  A: I carry a tent. I sit a while in the sun and then I sit a while under the tent.  Q: Do you use lots of protection on your skin? A: Yes. I use a mixture of tanning lotions, oils and sunblocks for my face, lips and my body. Wind burn can be bad too so whether I am in sun or under a tent I keep coverage on. And, when I feel I have had enough sun then a wrap up or tee goes on. I always have a hat and sunglasses on. I will sit under the tent without a hat. I try to be careful about sun exposure for sure. I always use a good moisturizer after sun exposure. I have...

{It's All In A Day's Work---Or Just Goofing Off!}

Well isn't this just the cutest tea pot lamp you've ever seen? And I paid a whopping $1.99 for her! She just needs a new shade and a little buffing up. It will be perfect for decor when I do tea parties for my grandgirls.  YEP, WENT THRIFTING AGAIN! I decided to do a little thrifting again but this time I went to town. For those of you that wonder what TOWN is for me, well, it's about 30-35 miles or so to the closest thrift store. I winded up hitting about 4 thrift stores. It was a nice outing. I took my time, stopped when I wanted too and even went by Starbucks and got myself a breakfast sandwich and my favorite...Passion Tea.  So let me just show you what else I scored thrifting. Yep, I take it by spells but I have had TWO spells recently so my man said I need to take a dose of Ibuprofen to get OVER the spell! LOL!   Awe...don't you just love this cute tea pot? On the bottom of the tea pot is says Teleflora  1985. I snatched ...

{Gardening, Thrifting, Cooking, Grands and Life}

We have been longing for a little rain and finally got enough to wet the ground. Not a whole lot but praise the Lord for what He did send. My "pretties" actually are looking ALIVE ! I decided to clear out a few more clothing pieces and shoes from my closet. Hasn't been too long that I cleaned out my closet but done a swipe through and actually found a few more things that I needed to rid of. I carried a bag full to our local Thrift store in our community. Of course I could not carry something in and not browse though......That's why it's better for me to take things to donate when they are closed and leave it in the bin!!! I take my thrifting by spells but when time allows I enjoy going into our local thrift store called Rack Up . The volunteers are always so nice and it's a good way to run into someone you know but haven't seen in a long time and actually take a little time to visit with them. But, this Thrift store is a little different. It...

{Mini Beach Trip}

Nothing like being "OFF DUTY" for three nights and two days at your Happy Place! The weather was beautiful and the beach wasn't crowded to my shock! I figured with school being out it would be packed. I went to the beach with intention of listening to the waves, feeling that cool beach breeze and reading a good book and that I did. Of course you can't go to the beach without a kite! My husband bought this kite last year before our family beach vacation and he has enjoyed it so much. I remember when he went on a search for the exact kind of kite that he wanted. Me, I would have bought a cheap $5 kite. NOPE....we had to have a kite that would fly to the moon! LOL! He washes that thing down after each use and stores it nice and neat in a cool spot until the next use. Just to tell you how serious the man is about his kite, I made a suggestion about letting one of the grands using it for kite day at school. Well, that was a big fat NO! Not his ...
