Happy May!

Happy May! I wanted to pop in and share a few pictures from my month of April which seemed to fly by quickly. As I am trying to catch up with my blogging friends today I realized it had been a month since I last posted. My mercy! But, I am so busy doing this thing we call life here on earth and enjoying every moment that I can. With my immediate family of 14 there is never a dull moment y'all!   We had three family birthdays in April. My SIL David, granddaughter Adalynn and oldest granddaughter Raygen.  Our favorite grandson Conner (only grandson) carried his girl to the prom. We had to snap at least one picture with Mom and Nana! Two of my elementary school friends and I get together at least once every 4-5 weeks so we went to breakfast and then to  Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. We always have so much fun.  The gardens are so beautiful that I couldn't even attempt to snap all the pictures I wanted. There are so many beautiful paintings to look at this but this was one of

I totally agree with that! What about you?
Well, for me personally, about the time I get used to the time change it seems it's time to  have another time change. I actually like having more time in the afternoons before it gets dark. My husband said that for him, it just seemed that it meant more daylight hours to work. One thing is for sure y'all...Time change or not...TIME surely will pass us by quickly. Regardless of whether I like or dislike the time change I just keep reminding myself....It's the simple things in life that bring the greatest pleasures. NO MATTER THE TIME CHANGE.

Speaking of "pleasures" I had this sweet grandgirl over the weekend. I picked her up on Friday around 1:30 and she stayed with Nana and Papa till Sunday morning. We sure had a great time. She is such an easy going child and it sure makes it easy to have fun with her and fun we did.

 She enjoyed riding the 4-wheeler with papa and fishing. That little gal caught 5 or 6 brim back to back.

We enjoyed watching my grandson play basketball and then lunch at her choice of place which happened to be Burger King.  She was such a good little helper too as we went to our church to meet some sweet ladies to decorate for the basketball banquet that was going to take place that night. She never complained and went with the flow. By Saturday afternoon I was beginning to feel my age though and she said, "Nana, you look tired so if you want to watch Hallmark movies we will put blankets on us and rest! YES,
YES, YES! My kind of gal!  I sure missed my little bed feller when she went home.

YEP, we are getting some practice in before Easter with our egg hunting skills. We hunted Easter eggs after Sunday dinner and these two cuties are ready! Such fun times...and you know what? The time change means nothing to these little ones....just the TIME that we spend with them means the world!

And I must say that I am quite proud of my three daughters'. They ran in the Gate River Run in Jacksonville, Fl on Saturday and they done extremely well. Not only did they have fun together but they had the cutest shirts, SOLE SISTERS.  They came in to the finish line holding hands. YES, this mama was proud. And before you ask me why I didn't join them....
Well, I had one of those mama's children and NO...If you see me running it's most likely to the coffee pot!!!
I did cheer them on by watching the race on television. That counts doesn't it?

I hope that you all have an awesome and very blessed week.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. How fun for your daughters. Our son and daughter ran the LA Marathon together one year. She was way ahead of him, but waited at the finish line to cross with him.
    Our daughter is flying in for the weekend with our 2 year old grandson - daddy will be home with the baby. And in September we will have a little girl join the family. Our son and his wife live just 1 hour away so we will see the new baby far more frequently than we do the boys.

  8. Someone told me that the reason Daylight Saving Time was instituted for agricultural reasons: to give farmers more time to farm or something? I would also prefer to just stick with one time and just let nature take its course!

    Sweet photos of the grandkids and daughters, as always.

  9. You are so right about the time that matters is the time we spend with our loved ones! We got to keep little Jack this weekend as his mommy and daddy needed some together time. Little Jack is cutting some molars and waking up EARLY, you know Grammy and Papa didn’t notice at all!! 😉 it sounds like you had a great weekend, too! That girl is quite the fisher girl! Did you all all cook those brim up? Our pond has blue gill and crappie and J enjoys grilling them when he catches enough...I’m more of a fried fish girl. Congratulations on those runners! Looks like they had lots of fun! Have a great week, sweet lady!

But, so thankful for each moment we are given with our dear loved ones and have to just make the most of our time on this earth. Hugs and blessings to you today, dear lady!

  21. Oh, "If I could put time in a bottle"....remember that old Jim Croce song, or are you too young for that? If only we could keep time from marching on so quickly. Our little ones grow up so fast...but you are doing the best thing by spending as much time as possible with your loved ones as often as possible. They will always treasure these memories you are making with them. So happy for you to have this blessing.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
