{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

October is here!

Well, I've had several friends already post their October bucket list on FB and I've been thinking.....Why, I haven't even thought about it to be honest. I guess I've been so busy just doing every day life day by day that an October bucket list never occurred to me. What is on your October bucket list?

I might not can tell you what I will do the remaining of October but I have dog sat this weekend.

Isn't Bo just the cutest? Marty and I dog sat for our daughter Melissa this weekend while grandgirl played travel ball out of town. We call him our "Old Soul" dog.

 Bo is so laid back. Of course he is 8 or 9 years old and just loves to chill out. My kind of dog. I asked my daughter since I kept her dog for the weekend would she repay the favor and keep her daddy one weekend for me. 🤣 She has yet to answer me!!!!

The oldest two grands enjoyed a weekend away to Universal. They sent me pictures. They are 16 and 14 now. Where does the time go?

Several of you have asked me what Bible Study we are doing now and I wanted to share with you. It's called "Get out of your head" by Jennie Allen. We are two weeks into the lesson and it is wonderful. The timing of this study is perfect for me to be totally honest. What grabbed me from the get-go was her words of, "probably the biggest battle we face today is the battle that goes on between our ears".

It's a very good study so far and it has surely challenged me to be more honest with myself and my thought life and the things that easily cause me to spiral out. If you are interested in doing a group study or one on your own I strongly suggest this one.

And back to the October bucket list....One thing I do know that I plan to do is to visit our local pumpkin patch with the grands. We are blessed in our community to have a yearly pumpkin patch where we can purchase pumpkins, make all the pictures we want and just enjoy. That for sure is on my bucket list. Well, and a baking some pumpkin muffins. YUM!

I hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend and that your week ahead is going to be wonderfully blessed.

Words from Jennie Allen's study that are worth repeating....

“As he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. Sounds like your October will be just right. No stressful plans, just enjoying the beauty and joys of the fall days. That pumpkin patch sounds wonderful, especially with the sweet grand kids. What fun!! Yes, be sure to take lots of pictures. Your oldest grandkids are so sweet. Glad they had a good time. Our grandson will be 21 on Tuesday, but he is up in Maine and we can't go see him. I am feeling kinda blue about that. We used to always go up there for his birthdays until his daddy died. Now Noah has come down here a couple of times instead, but because of this virus thing we can't go up and he can't come down, because Maine requires a 2 week quarantine for people coming from Florida. So that's that. Praying this will end soon!! Have a blessed and wonderful October. Pumpkin muffins sound good. Please share the recipe when you make them.

  7. An October Bucket List --I'm more of a take it one day at a time kinda gal. I guess at the top of such a list for me would be to not let the housekeeping get out of hand. (yeah, what a fun goal, right?!)

    Your Bible study sounds good. We do ourselves a wonderful service when we monitor what's in our thoughts and re-direct them to what is pleasing to the Lord.

  9. Hello Sweet Lady,
    I love this Bible Study that you are mentioning. Why is it that we drift back into our thoughts...The only way not to is with Christ filling our heart, minds, body and soul and thank goodness He is patient, or he'd have given up on me years ago! I am loving October in Florida! Whoohoo! I have some pumpkins, wreaths, mums and so much more energy too.
    Great to catch up with you!
    Big Hugs,
    Jemma

So many going straight to Instagram. Mercy! Said I wouldn't jump on too many band wagons but I am beginning to see why. Thanks for letting me know girl.

  11. Hi Cindy! Cute dog! Cuter grands! Universal is one place I have always wanted to visit. My little sister did years ago and raved about it. Perhaps that should be on a Bucket List if we can ever safely travel again.

    Your Bible studies sound so interesting!

    Enjoy the pumpkin patch! This year my daughter has decided against going to one due to trying to stay safe......so they grew pumpkins of their own in their little garden! That helped ease the disappointment to my grand girl, whom really wanted to go.

    Stay well, my friend. Hugs.

  12. Your grand dog is a real cutie! Bet you all had fun! This Bible study sounds perfect for me! I struggle with worry and second guessing things...the battle between my ears. Thanks for the recommendation. Two things on my October list are digitizing some more family memories and starting Jack’s “I Spy” quilt for Christmas. I’ve got the fabric scraps just have to get started. He was over yesterday and we had a fun time outside cleaning up the garden, chasing the ducks and chickens and playing in his sandbox. Love our time with him!! ❤️ Have a wonderful week! Zenda

    I posted pictures of my home and fall decorations. I love fall. Now if only the weather would cool down! I am going to try making a low sugar pumpkin cheesecake this month. We normally host a trunk at our church trunk n treat. That was cancelled. We are going to make goodie bags for the grands. Or maybe we will do a candy hunt in the backyard!

  16. These days I hardly know what I'm doing tomorrow let alone the whole month!!!! I definitely need that Bible Study and am going to check it out. My grands are 17 and 14...and yes, growing up way to fast. We used to spend so much time together and now they are busy, busy, busy. Sometimes I really wish I could go back in time and just hold them in my lap for a little longer:) Sadly, I heard that the Pumpkin Patch near us will not be open this year due to COVID! How I hate all that it has stolen from us. Wishing you a lovely October whatever you choose to do (or not do)!

  17. Oh my a October Bucket List....cute. Once upon a time Oct used to be the busiest month of my yr. Always something to do with the fall season here so I was always into something. Bucket list....hmmmm, right now I guess the only thing I have on my list is to stop and get a bale of straw and a couple more pumpkins for decor. Thursday to drive an hour down the road for a football game for my grandson's school. After that....not much. Boy times sure have changed...haha. The cross in my pic is at the wedding venue, we call that area the Church in the Wildwoods.

Some of us have health issues that makes one want to stay away from this virus. {{sigh}} I love your grand dogbaby, he's so cute. I have 6 dog grands and 4 great dog grands. lol Life is sweet. Hope all is well in your world sweet lady, sending you a ((hug)) across the miles! Now that's social distancing. lol

  20. Oh couldn't agree more...the battle is between our ears. ☺️ Bucket lists are very common these days...I don't have any, though I do have intention lists. The only things on it for this month are to celebrate two birthdays. One is coming up this weekend and I am in charge of decor and food. Best get intending about that one stat. Are the two eldest grands brother and sister or cousins? My kids loved doing things together but quit when people began assuming that they were a couple. Your little grandpup is adorable!

If only they will let us out already, this lockdown is getting old and I so miss family and friends. Doing a lot of projects around the house, though, baking and crafting - no time wasted here.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
