{February Happenings}

  Well our February Florida weather is cool in the mornings, warm during the day and cool at night. Which to be honest, suits me! But, we can't have perfect weather that suits us all can we? This weather has had me in the baking mode though. I saved a few apples from our mountain trip and baked an apple bundt cake to freeze for a Sunday dinner sweet.  Decided to whip up a batch of Kitty's shortbread spritz cookies. They weren't as pretty as hers but oh they would melt in your mouth. Be sure to pop over to see her recipe.  https://www.kittyskozykitchen.com/2025/01/impossibly-easy-ham-and-swiss-pie-and.html#more I had some left over deer venison and decided to make a Venison and Penne Casserole. Was a hit with Marty and his dad. But, we love all things venison around her neck of the woods.  One day I had some broccoli that was going to go bad if not used so whipped up a little comfort soup. Broccoli and shedder cheese soup.  My oldest granddaughter Raygen bought h...

{Enjoying Life, One Day At A Time}

  I hope this finds all my blogging friends doing well and staying healthy. I just want to thank you all for your sweet comments and prayers for Marty and I. We are doing well. Still fighting allergies but that seems to be quite the norm for many of us. We are truly blessed. My smell is slowly coming back day by day. Praising the Lord that I can taste. CRAZY at what we take for  granite. I go back in May for a another follow up and have been working on building up immune system. I have gotten quite good y'all at making all natural fruit smoothies, drinks and slushies.    I've tried several different recipes but mainly I have been making up my own recipes to play around with the different flavors. If the drink isn't sweet enough I add a 1/2 - 1 pack of Splenda and they work for me. I don't like banana's though so NO banana goes in my mouth. LOL! But I do love all sorts of other fruits though so it has actually been fun making my own little boost drinks. That's w...

{Sharing My Heart Today}

  It seems that it's been forever since I have made a blog post. To be honest, I wasn't physically or emotionally able and I wasn't sure how to share to be honest so I just decided to be me....and share my heart. But, I first want to share that the last time I blogged I shared with you all that Marty and I was going to the mountains so let me share about that a little first.  We had the most incredible mountain view while on top of a mountain and God surely allowed us to enjoy His beautiful creations. It seems that was already so long ago that we went as it has been a good while since I have posted anything on the blog.   The weather was great, the views were simply breathtaking and the cabin was as cute as a button.  The beautiful tapestries of God never lack in color no matter the season we are in.  The quaint and tidy sweet cabin was everything we needed and desired.  The cabin was called "Bird Song" and it was obvious the owners of the cabin had a...
