{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Favorite Meme's, Praise and More Cake}

  Isn't she just lovely? I named her Pink Beauty . Yep, I give things a name sometimes. CRAZY! I was gifted her for Administrative Day.  Another birthday cake is in the freezer for a May birthday but while on a baking spell I decided to make a carrot cake with cream cheese icing for Sunday's dessert.  I guess the old glider will get a work out tomorrow as I do plan to have ANOTHER slice with coffee tonight!  web image I think I might best save this meme since I am having two slices of that carrot cake today! LOL!  Speaking of meme's I saw this one and it caught my attention. Do you have some favorite meme's? I must give a little praise today. This morning in church I sat next to my 17 year old granddaughter. When she opened her Bible to follow the passage reading for today I noticed the highlighting, underlined scriptures, notes and sticky notes on the pages of her Bible. Can I just say that this melted my heart with PRAISE!   This passage in Deuteronomy ...

{Celebrating birthdays and Eating Cake}

  I shared with you last week that I was making cakes and freezing them for upcoming birthdays so today we reaped the harvest of two birthdays being celebrated. My soninlove David celebrated his 40th and my oldest granddaughter Raygen celebrated her 17th.  (David and his beautiful family) Of course I let my granddaughter pick her birthday meal and it was fried chicken, green beans, corn, macaroni and cheese, rolls, and deviled eggs.  We had quite a good Sunday lunch. But, we usually do because I cook most every Sunday for my family. LOL!  I went by to visit her at work as she works PT at their gym and I carried her balloons to help make her day extra special.  Her birthday cake was a hit. I tried a new recipe as she requested a homemade vanilla cake and homemade chocolate icing. So, she got a 4 layer vanilla cake with all the trimmings. The cake was more the consistency a pound cake but it was hit.  A little homemade chocolate sauce with Reese Peanut c...

(Pinterest Favs This Week)

 I hope that you all have had a great week. We've had some weird weather this week in Florida. One day it's hot and the next I am turning on the heat. Last night we had high winds with rain and today it was chilly. I think next week it's suppose to be sunny! Who knows anymore with the weather.  But, the weather never stops me from lurking around on Pinterest. I have so many boards saved. There are many talented and gifted folks out there that sure know how to inspire us Pinterest fans. I will share a few things that caught my eye.   Web Image I absolutely loved this outfit. Black and white will never go out of style and I love the classiness of black and white together. I love the cold shoulder tops and dresses. This lady is not only beautiful but she can sure style this outfit. There was not a link for me to attach but I wanted to share it. Do you like cold shoulder tops or dresses?  fiftynotfrumpy.blogspot.com There I go with the black and white again. I love ...

{It's All About Family}

  I am late in trying to get a post out this week. It sure seems time flies when you are busy. But, when busy with those I love the most then that's a good kind of busy too me. I hope that you all had a wonderful Resurrection Day. Our family sure did. We also have been celebrating my granddaughter Adalynn's 5th birthday. We call her Ada. She is such a joy and delight to our family. So, I want to share some family pictures with you all today of my family.  This was taken Easter Sunday after church. One of my soninlove's had to work so could not join us until that afternoon. We all attend, serve and worship together at the same church. Yes, I am beyond blessed and thankful.  So blessed to be these girl's mom.  My soninlove had to work but he was there in our hearts with his family. Our oldest two granddaughter's. They make life fun. My soninlove made it to the annual Conner egg hunt.  The Easter bunny came to visit us too.  I think our Annaleigh was excited t...
