{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Favorite Meme's, Praise and More Cake}

Isn't she just lovely? I named her Pink Beauty. Yep, I give things a name sometimes. CRAZY! I was gifted her for Administrative Day.

Another birthday cake is in the freezer for a May birthday but while on a baking spell I decided to make a carrot cake with cream cheese icing for Sunday's dessert.

I guess the old glider will get a work out tomorrow as I do plan to have ANOTHER slice with coffee tonight!

I think I might best save this meme since I am having two slices of that carrot cake today! LOL!

Speaking of meme's I saw this one and it caught my attention. Do you have some favorite meme's?

I must give a little praise today. This morning in church I sat next to my 17 year old granddaughter. When she opened her Bible to follow the passage reading for today I noticed the highlighting, underlined scriptures, notes and sticky notes on the pages of her Bible. Can I just say that this melted my heart with PRAISE!

This passage in Deuteronomy came to mind  with a sweet reminder that WE MUST TEACH OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN THE WORD OF GOD AS THE WORLD IS ALL TOO WILLING TO TEACH THEM OTHERWISE

Well, I will close today with a few meme's of good old Maxine! You just gotta love her! For those that might need a little laugh today, here you go.

  2. I adore Maxine. She makes me laugh every single time. Was that a picture of your granddaughter's Bible??? Whether or not, that is wonderful that she "delves" into her Bible and doesn't just "read" it...if you know what I mean. Your flower is lovely and I know it is well deserved. Thanks for the opportunity to laugh as I've been so busy lately I've hardly had time to think!!!! Have a lovely week.

  9. That cake looks amazing but I don’t think calories count if consumed on Sundays! 😉 Love the memes - so funny! We all still need some chuckles. I bet your heart just melted when you saw your granddaughter’s Bible. Our grandboy is still little but he already knows to say his prayer before eating and I just love it! 💕 Wishing you a wonderful week, Cindy! Zenda

  12. There is nothing as exciting as our children's love for the Lord and His Word!!!!!!!! Oh, this says volumes about her parents. This is my prayer that my grand girls will hear and follow Jesus, Cindy. Love the humor, the wise words and oh that cake. You deserve it. Hugging you, girl.

  13. OH, your granddaughter's Bible is such a blessing to see. I only have one grandson, and it grieves me that he is not going to church and hasn't since his daddy (our son) died 7 years ago. He is now 21, and I pray every single day for his heart to be turned back to the Lord. His Daddy taught him so much about the Lord and he even baptized him (with their pastor at the time). But since he died there has been no reinforcement from his mother and we are too far away, so it really really grieves me. Okay, I love the carrot cake and I love the memes and everything else in between. I just love being here. Thank you for your wonderful posts. God bless you.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
