It's a tad late to wish a Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily. I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...
I hope that you all are having a great day and that your week ahead of you will be blessed. I have taken a little time this weekend away from baking cakes and decided to throw together a little vignette for my corner chair.
I have so enjoyed my little corner chair and decorating it for different seasons and holidays. That old chair needs a fresh coat of paint but for now, she will just have to do.
Lemons became my inspiration as I love anything with lemon. Lemonade, lemon pound cake, lemon pie, lemon cookies...and well, lemons became the theme for a tablescape as well.
I've had the hobnail tea pitcher for a long time and have used it on many occasions. She looks quite adorable with a few daisy's and lemons surrounding her don't you think?
The small white bowls holding the lemons belonged to my grandmother. I love using the things that was given to me from loved ones. The salad plates are my newest purchase. Found them marked down to $3 for four at Bealls Outlet and wouldn't you know it....they only had two sets left and that's exactly what I needed. I took that to be a sign that YES, I needed to buy them! LOL!
It might be just a simple little tablescape but it's begging for a glass of lemonade...
Aren't these pieces of china just pretty? A friend of one of my daughter's was giving this away and of course my daughter said, "My Mom would love it". She was so right.
Our oldest daughter Kristy will be celebrating a birthday tomorrow. We are so proud of the godly woman that she is. She is truly a roll model for many women. We will celebrate her birthday next weekend with a family cookout. Web image
I hope that you all have a great week and that you find yourself blessed more than you could have imagined by the Lord.
And...have a glass of lemonade while you are counting your blessings.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
I love all things lemon! And, I usually pull out all my lemon decor after Easter but I haven't done much seasonal decorating this past year. I love all my usual decor and just fell off the wagon. Guess that might be a sign of aging. Yikes!!!! Have a great week Cindy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea. I do not seem to decorate like I used too either. There is always something else going on in my life or I just simply don't have the energy I used to have. YES age girl!
DeleteOh, those lemons look so pretty and fresh and clean! I love lemons and lemon scent! And your flowers and the pretty hobnail pitcher is gorgeous. I love those salad plates. Beall's Outlet has some neat stuff! You got a deal, girl!! And that set of china on your front porch? Now THAT's beautiful stuff! Such a pretty pattern! Noritake is expensive china too! Wow! What a gift!! Happy Birthday to your lovely daughter Kristy! You have such lovely daughters, all who reflect the love of Jesus and also the beauty of having had such a lovely mother and handsome and godly father. What a blessing! Oh, I see that glass juicer on the corner chair! That's like the one I got at the flea market not long ago! It looks so pretty with the yellow lemons! You are a clever and stylish lady, and I enjoy seeing what you come up with each month! Thank you for sharing this with us. It is an inspiration in so many ways! I thank Jesus for YOU.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam for your sweet and kind words. I found that glass juicer years ago at a thrift store. I rarely use to juice but sure have used it to decorate with. I am thankful for you!
DeleteHappy birthday, Kristy! I love your corner chair all decorated and the lemon themed tablescape is beautiful. I also love anything lemon! The free Noritake china is so pretty! Wishing you a joy-filled week, Cindy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much and congrats again on your beautiful grandson!
DeleteEverything looks just lovely....and sooo SPRING:) My son loves all things lemon too...reminds me I might need to make him his favorite lemon pound cake soon. I love the idea of your little chair. I have a tiered tray that I try to decorate to bring in different holidays and occasions but I really like the chair idea:) Now to find me a cute chair!!! I am itching to do some redecorating but am at a loss of what to do. Money will be spent soon to redo our deck (cha-ching) so any decorating I do will have to be on a s-l-i-m budget!!! But you sure have given me some inspiration and when life slows down a little maybe I'll have time to come up with some ideas. Happy Birthday to your sweet daughter. My g'daughter has a birthday in a few days, then DIL two days after that. Along with Mother's Day for both our mothers and graduation and end-of-school....it's a busy, busy month! God bless you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheri. I need to re-do lots of things but girl, my energy level sure pitters out quick! Maybe it's age! LOL!
DeleteCindy, I'm counting my blessings and you are one of them. Thanks for your upbeat and joyful attitude.
ReplyDeleteI love your lemon tablescape. It is so pretty and thinking of lemons and their flavors in everything is fresh and happy. Your chair vignette is charming too.

DeleteGreat minds think alike! My post this week focuses on lemon dessert teas!
ReplyDeleteThe cheery yellow lemons in your decor is just what I needed to see on this gloomy, rainy day. The Noritake tea set is lovely! I'm sure your daughter's friend was glad to see it go to a good home.
Headed over to visit with you Margie. Lemon anything brightens a day.
DeleteHappy birthday to your eldest daughter!!
ReplyDeleteWe love all things lemon around here. Yum.
Your table setting looks wonderful and I'm inspired by the idea you had of putting your lovely new set of dishes on the porch. I think I'll steal that idea ( I hope you'll forgive me).
Thank you so much. What better way to brighten up a porch than with a few pretty dishes. I am surely enjoying them when sitting on the porch.
DeleteI’d love to share a glass of lemonade with you, Cindy! Your vignette and your table look lemony luscious. Yes, you certainly needed those adorable plates and what a deal. DeleteLove the lemons, they are so bright and clean looking in your kitchen and on your table. Lemonade, not had that in forever. I actually prefer the pink lemonade, not had that forever either. Happy bday to your daughter. Franklin NC., been there several times. I would go with my sis in law up to visit her parents there. I will have to write a blog on that and hit you up to read it...
ReplyDeleteI too love pink lemonade. Love all things lemon.
