Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Happy Memorial Day everyone .
I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial day and have enjoyed your weekend. We enjoyed Hibachi style yesterday afternoon and it was so good. Steak, chicken, shrimp, pork, fried rice and veggies. YUM!
The youngest grands got their red, white and blue on for church yesterday.
The oldest grandgirl Raygen and her best friend Penny visited a nearby sunflower farm.
Marty and grandgirl Mallory done a little fishing and needless to say we will be frying up some fish before too long.
My baby wrens have hatched and getting ready to fly out of the nest before long.
Marty and I enjoyed another late afternoon of "fun food" served on my new lazy susan.
I can tell I am going to really enjoy that piece and it will be used.
While out and about doing a little shopping I found these cuties to also use for my "fun food" and many other items I am sure.
A blogging friend of mine introduced these Spurtles on her blog in a post and as soon as I saw them I knew I had to have a set. I love all things kitchen especially since I enjoy cooking and baking so much. I am so glad I purchased these. I have used them for everything that you can imagine. They are heat resistance and so easy to clean. I've even put mine in the dishwasher and they have not faded at all. They are used a lot! Amazon purchase.
Today, well, I wish I could say I am resting a little, well, guess I am right now since I am blogging. LOL! But, I have been cleaning out two closets and oh mercy! Do I have some things to donate.....A HUGE black bag of clothes along with 11 pairs of shoes are headed to a clothing ministry that gives to others once a month in our community. I guess I can go buy some more clothes and shoes now right????? But, I have stopped long enough to marinate some pork chops for the grill, make a potato, cheese and bacon casserole (half with scallions) and baked beans for Memorial Day Dinner. Matter of fact....that dinner might be a tad early today because I am hungry! Oh, there's lemon pie ready too!
I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed week ahead.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Your granddaughters' patriotic outfits are too cute!

ReplyDeleteThanks Kris. I will send it to you.
DeleteYou have so much fun as a family. I sure wish my bunch lived close by but we are scattered all over the country. I LOVE the sunflowers and really want to go fishing this summer. I need to find a spot not to weedy or snakey! lol Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMy three daughters are nearby and I am so thankful. I love sunflowers too. Yes, not snaky or weedy is my kind of outing of any kind. LOL!
DeleteLoved the pic of you with all the grands, and the one of the two littles, and Mallory and grandpa! How time flies! You sure were a busy lady with all that cleaning out and cooking! 😘
ReplyDeleteGirl, those closets are thanking me cause they are breathing! LOL! Much needed thing I needed to. I am always cooking or baking it seems. I guess it's a good thing I do work 3 days a week outside the home Kitty or else I'd have everything cooked and baked but the kitchen sink. LOL!
DeleteBeautiful blog
