{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

{It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Fall" Every Where I Go.....

I hope that you all are enjoying your late Sunday evening. As for me, I about pooped as my granny would have said and ready for a little "rest in the recliner". We've had a busy week and weekend and it seems there is never enough time in the day to get all done that is needed but....I just give God the praise that we are able to do most of what is needed a little bit of what we want to do.

I managed to get a little more Fall decor done and I was glad as I told my daughter's...it won't be long and I'll be decorating for Christmas. I know that God knew what He was doing but y'all, I really think some holidays are too close together. LOL!

My little grands love my OLD scarecrow. Bless his little heart, he used to light up but that tore up a few years ago. However, he is still in the family.

We went and watched our favorite grandson play his last home football game. Needless to say he has quite a fan club.

Nothing like family supporting family and with these grands...Oh My! What we don't and won't do!

My grandgirl Mallory wanted to do a little target practicing to gear up for rifle season. I must say, "she is one sharp little shooter".
She takes after Nana.....Ha!

Marty's birthday is October 10 but we celebrated a week early with Sunday dinner and his favorite, pecan pie and rocky road ice cream. He will be out of town a few days with his dad among the old Georgia pines muzzleloading so an early celebration was called for.

He is truly loved and admired by array of women in the family.

My oldest daughter baked her sisters and I a loaf of pumpkin bread. Guess what I will be having with my coffee in the morning? YUM!

Our ladies kicked off Wednesday night with a brand new bible study and two of us leaders (standing) one in the black top and myself...prayerfully decided to step down from leading ladies on Wednesday nights. Donna has been leading for over 30 years and it's been 24-25 years for me. This was nothing that just happened but something we truly felt the Lord had placed upon our hearts. We however will be leading a future day time class for ladies that may rather step away from the late Wednesday nights, those that can't drive at night or those that have children in school and are looking for a bible study to attend. I am very excited at how God went before us, leveled the mountain, prepared our hearts and to top it off, He gave our Wednesday night ladies six new leaders. We are so excited for them! We shared our hearts on Wednesday night with the leaders as well as those attending the study and we prayed scripture over the new leaders. We gave each new leader a prayer journal with a hand written note from us with scripture along with a book mark. We bought the cutest little torches to pass on to each and we got each of them a prayer shawl. A representation of the fact that they have been called to teach the living Word of God and that the most important thing they can do is to PRAY to the one whom loves them more than He loved himself. We went into detail with the representation a prayer shawl. It was a very emotional time for us but also a time to say, "GOD AIN'T THROUGH WITH US". The doors He has opened and is opening has been beyond what we could ever imagine with ministering and mentoring women.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and remember....

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  7. Aw! I can only imagine how sad and emotional it was for everyone as you and your friend stepped down from leading the Bible study group. I am sad, and I am not even in your class! But seasons do change, don't they? And with each new season comes new and fresh blessings from the Lord. I am so thankful you are just redirecting and will still be leading Bible studies. You are far too valuable to retire! LOL! Sending much love your way today, sweet friend.

    1. Awe Cheryl, it was indeed emotional. So many ties over the years. But, giving God the praise that He is not through with us. We will still minister to women but in a different way, day and time. I am excited about what He has in store for us too.

    Our Canadian Thanksgiving is next weekend. I'm glad we celebrate it early (2nd Monday of October) so that it's spaced out from Halloween and Christmas.

  14. Hi Cindy, wow I can totally relate to being busy and understand the important in spending time with our families! I love all the pictures! I too have decorated around our fireplace but have not taken pictures. That is so nice that you presented prayer shawls to everyone. I was a leader in women's ministry for 12 years, and did lay counseling half those years. In 2007 my ministry became my family, taking care of my aging parents and helping with the new grands. We are blessed and we have a beautiful families! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
