Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Hope that you all are enjoying your Sunday afternoon. I am doing a little R & R. Wanted to share a few fun pictures from our annual family Halloween/fall party with you all. Our family has such fun together and we treasure the moments that the Lord gives to us. Marty and I enjoy dressing up for our parties and I am so glad that he is such a good sport.
I had intended on using those old perm rods that belonged to my granny on my whole head. When I realized how time consuming that would be I decided that just a few would be good enough.
I honestly don't know how my granny stood there and rolled every stand of her hair with those tiny rods....and, she had a head full of hair!
We had quite a few immediate family members that could not attend this year and with a family as large as ours that is to be expected for sure. But, we had a great time. #food#fun#laughter#dancing#games
#fishingpond#carvingpumpkins#blessed
I had the chance to stop by a local thrift store to browse around for Halloween decor for our party and found this beautiful vase instead! It matches so many of my pretty pieces.
I love this! It is just large enough to hold a 6 inch cake. Can't decide whether to keep it or gift it when a cake in it. UMM...might have to pray on that one! LOL!
Speaking of cakes, these sweet ladies (my middle daughter on left with long blonde hair) works with my daughter at a dentist office. This bunch loves on people and one another and they do it well. I decided to love on them so cupcakes it was.
I hope that you all are enjoying your October so far. I keep hearing rumors that our weather might start cooling up a tad soon. But, the weather was pleasantly nice today. Made me smile...
...the Father knows what you need before you ask...Matthew 6:8
I hope that you all have a wonderfully blessed week.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy

LOL! We are that GM. I love the vase and can't wait to put some pretties in it.
DeleteGood morning! You all sure know how to throw a party and love of your costumes! You have such a happy family!! Your vase is so pretty. My mom had several pieces like that. She called them her “pressed glass”. I’m not sure if that what it’s called though. I always appreciate your devotional book suggestions. Our church hasn’t restarted our Bible studies since the pandemic so it’s good to know what others are enjoying. Wishing you a happy week, dear Cindy!
ReplyDeleteI am already thinking about what to dress up like next year! LOL! Happy Week to you.

Blessings to you this day, dear Cindy.
We have lots of fun Barbara. Never a dull moment with my tribe.

ReplyDeleteWe sure had lots of fun Pam.
DeleteYour Halloween costumes are a hoot! I especially like Cruella.
ReplyDeleteGreat thrift store haul. Is the $1.99 cake plate by Skye McGhie?
Thanks. I loved my granddaughter dressing as Cruella. I almost done that one too and then changed it out. It was all perfect. Nope, wasn't by McGhie. I think Vernon. I will have to look again. It's actually a salad plate but will be great for a pretty 6 inch cake.
DeleteOh, how wonderful to see all of you together and having such a great time! God is so good! Your costumes were just hilarious! May the Lord continue to bless you and your precious family, sweet friend.

I haven't been thrifting in a while and would like to hit some of the major store in a town nearby soon.
DeleteWhat a blast of a party. I love all of the costumes you all had on! The little ones steal the show of course. So sweet!!! Congrats to your granddaughter on her last volleyball game. You got some great scores! I did a little thrifting last week and did WELL!
