{Hello friends}

  Hoping this finds my sister bloggers doing well on this windy Sunday afternoon. Yep, we've got a little wind howling around here and a tad cool but I am enjoying a lazy afternoon. My Sunday lunch crowd (my family) have left for the day so I am kicked back. Sunday menu today consisted of: Chicken and dressing Giblet gravy Italian green beans with ham Mac & Cheese Homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache.  Yep, they are little spoiled at Nana's house. I am not a huge fan of cakes with icing but it must have been good as one of the grands had two slices.  These gals and I have been friends for more years than I remember and since we've all retired within a few months apart in retirement and age (dating back to 4th grade in school) we try to get together once every 4-6 weeks. We always do something extra for our birthdays but was a tad late celebrating mine this year together due to other appointments that was a must. We always have a gr...

{Celebrating Another Birthday! What A Blessing From God}

  Well, my birthday was February 18th and I am just so thankful that God has given me another birthday. You know? When we are young we don't think too much about having another birthday as we simply take it for granite that it will come. BUT, as we get older we don't take anything for granite. Giving God the praise.  AND YES...that cake was delicious! My three girls and I shared that huge slice of Red Velvet Cheese Cake. SOOOO GOOD! My girls know how to pamper their mama and they carried me out to eat and to celebrate. We had such good food and a sweet time of fellowship.  I think that I am going to have to copycat that wonderful cake and make it one Sunday for dinner! God surely blessed me with these gals. He knew what I needed in my life. They keep me straight and sane! But, they bring me laughter, much love and joy! I received a sweet card with a new tea to try from one of my blogging friends and the tea package is so pretty that I hate to open it. BUT I will and I can...

{Happy Sunday Everyone}

  I hope that you all are having a wonderful day on this beautiful Sunday. It has been a little chilly around our neck of the woods but I see the beautiful sun shining out my window as I type. Our family will be gathering in a few hours to have our traditional roasted oysters and some good old football food for the Super bowl. I am glad I had a light lunch! LOL! So, last week I got on a baking spree and baked my family some fresh Apple Bundt cakes with lemon glaze. AND... Mini chocolate chip cakes with melted chocolate and strawberry mini cakes with glaze. I think my family is enjoying Mama-Nana being retired!  I also tried a new recipe out  in my air fryer. .  Jalapeno Cheese Bombs . Marty loved them! Canned biscuits y'all! YEP, simple but oh so tasty.  I used a small can of 5 biscuits. Seasoning of your choice. I used the above pictured but I did add some Italian seasoning the tops of each bomb before baking. Separate each biscuit in half. P...

It's already February!

  Good Sunday Afternoon Everyone. I hope your week and weekend has been good to you. We are having some fire place weather in my neck of the woods.  These three little girls enjoyed the roaring fire with hot cocoa today. They have a gas fire place in their homes so they had fun helping papa gather up some wood to build a fire. It sure doesn't take much to entertain the littles in the country.  I have been waiting for a little over a year now for the Taxidermy to have my trophy buck ready and Marty picked him up this week. I was so excited and needless to say that sweet boy is hanging on my wall in my living room. That was a Buck of a lifetime for me. Not sure I will ever forget the excitement of that hunt...or showing the guys up! LOL! Our county has opened up a new little place called Southern Blend Baker and I had to try out the chicken salad that several of my friends raved about. It was delicious! The atmosphere is so nice. The first thing I noticed was Christian...
