{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

{Happy Sunday Everyone}

 I hope that you all are having a wonderful day on this beautiful Sunday. It has been a little chilly around our neck of the woods but I see the beautiful sun shining out my window as I type. Our family will be gathering in a few hours to have our traditional roasted oysters and some good old football food for the Super bowl. I am glad I had a light lunch! LOL!

So, last week I got on a baking spree and baked my family some fresh Apple Bundt cakes with lemon glaze.

AND...

Mini chocolate chip cakes with melted chocolate and strawberry mini cakes with glaze.

I think my family is enjoying Mama-Nana being retired!

I also tried a new recipe out in my air fryer.Jalapeno Cheese Bombs. Marty loved them!

Canned biscuits y'all! YEP, simple but oh so tasty.

I used a small can of 5 biscuits.

Seasoning of your choice. I used the above pictured but I did add some Italian seasoning the tops of each bomb before baking. Separate each biscuit in half. Pat out each half to make them a little larger. Toss shredded cheese of your choice in the middle of each biscuit half. Dice up fresh Jalapeno's (get rid of the seeds) or use pickled ones like I did. I just let them dry out good on a paper towel. Toss a few jalapeno's on top of cheese. Add your seasonings. I just sprinkled on my seasonings. Take each biscuit and pinch up the sides and form like a ball (bomb). Using a pastry brush add melted butter to the tops of each bomb and then sprinkle on Italian seasoning. Preheat your air fryer for 4 minutes on 310 degrees. Place a piece of parchment paper in your fryer and depending on size of air fryer put some bombs on top of paper. I could get 6 bombs in mine. You don't want to overcrowd your air fryer. Cook on 310 for about 8-10 minutes. Mine were done in 9 minutes. Very tasty and simple.

I shared with you last week about this new sweet place we have in our community called Southern Blend Baker. They are just the sweetest ladies that own the bakery. Such a wonderful atmosphere and I haven't gotten anything from there that I didn't like. Decided to treat Marty and I to their famous cinnamon rolls. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

Marty and I had another day date. I am telling y'all...nothing like a day date for us! Of course we added Home Depot into our date which I love shopping there about as good as he does.

I made a quick stop by TJ Maxx. Mercy, I do love using Skinny Girl Syrups in my coffees and teas. I think I am going to need a cabinet to hold all of my syrups and tea making stuff! I will be decluttering the pantry next week. LOL!

I hope that you all have a most wonderful week and Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow.

One of my favorite scriptures is 1st Corinthians 13:13. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

May we each hold onto these truths...FAITH, HOPE and LOVE.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    As usual, your yummy baked goods (sweet and savoury!) are making me hungry. LOL. I loved how your day date included a visit to Home Depot. Someone once told me that they've gone to Ikea on a date--they dined on Swedish food and browsed around the store afterwards!

  12. Happy Valentines Day, sweet Cindy! I have never seen (or thought to look for) these syrups at TJMaxx....but betcha I will next time I'm there!!!! All that baking makes me want to jump in the kitchen, but the problem is when I do I eat most of it!!!!! I could live on sweets alone....definitely a sugar-aholic. I need to lose a few pounds but thank goodness I don't gain weight according to all the sugar I eat....I'd be big as the house!

  17. Oh, what a fun post! I loved hearing about all your baked goods, and yes, I think your family must love having Mama-Nana retired! You are so sweet and giving of yourself, and the love of Jesus just oozes out of everything you do, dear friend. It's funny you mentioned the skinny girl syrups! I just recently found a bottle of some type of skinny syrup in such an unexpected place and bought it and have been enjoying it so much. I think it is white chocolate flavored. Those little individually wrapped cakes look so good and make such great gifts! And I must try those jalapeno/biscuit bombs. I still haven't given in to getting an air fryer, but it sounds like I need to! God bless and keep you and your famliy in His care. Sending love and hugs your way today!

  19. I hope that you are loving retirement as much as your family is loving having you retired. It seems that so many newly retired gals start with the decluttering and getting the pantry in order. ☺️ I was horrified to learn how much of my baking pantry things need to go...way past expiration dates. Why does Marty look as if he is misbehaving? 😉

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
