{It's A New Beginning Y'all}

  It's a tad late to wish a  Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily.  I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...

{A Whole Lot Of Playing Going On}

  Good afternoon friends. I hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend. I've been a little busy with some of the grandgirlies. They say, "Your grands will keep you young". Well, they might do that but they will always make you tired! LOL! But Lord knows I wouldn't have it any other way.  The youngest two grands came for a sleepover one night this past week and we played, danced, sang and yep, done a little baking. GOTTA bake something at Nana's ya know... Which called for a tea party!  And those girls love to play in my costume jewelry too. Now mind you, I have their own little box of jewelry for them in the play room but I guess Nana's STUFF in her room is better!  They had a ball. A few days later this grandgirlie came to have a sleep over and you guessed it! We baked. LOL! Needless to say this simple dessert is always a winner at my house. {Chocolate cakes baked and crumbled, instant vanilla pudding, cool whip and a few chocolate chips} Nothing like sp...

{Enjoying this this thing we call "DOING LIFE"}

  I hope that you all are having a great weekend and that you are looking forward to a brand new week with a freshness of spirit. I am learning much about the "retired life" and one thing I am enjoying is my mornings. I sit in my chair with coffee and I have my quiet time with the Lord and I have been praying each week for a "freshness of spirit". We all need a freshness of spirit don't we?  So, since I am trying my hand at soap making which I am loving I made a new batch. I made Green tea, lemongrass and flax seed. It turned out so good. Smells heavenly and have given several bars as gifts which was a big hit.  The only thing I might do different is add more flax seed for exfoliating but other than that...this is a winner for me.  I've also been whipping up more bath salts and my daughters and older granddaughters are so enjoying it. Some dear long time friends and I met one day for lunch last week . We enjoyed a nice lunch with lots of talking! These two r...

{Birthday, Soap Making and Praise}

What a lovely, cold, sunshiny day it is. I hope your day is going wonderful. We've had lots of rain since Thursday and then it turned off cold. Today, cold but the sun is shining. One thing about Florida, it's like a box of chocolates. You never know which one you may get!  I would like to wish my favorite grandson a very happy birthday. He will be 16 on Tuesday. We celebrated his special day last Sunday evening and again today at Sunday dinner with family. He is an amazing young man. Respectful of others. Opens and closes the door for ladies. Yes mam and no mam.  Says thank you. YEP, I'd say I am a little bias if all that was not true! Being raised by parents that has taught him morals, values and manners is something to brag about these days.  https://www.amazon.com/TDHDIKE-Silicone-Cavities-Handmade-Cornbread/dp/B087JNT76R/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2QOTUT7SOPIMK&keywords=3+pack+silicone+soap+molds&qid=1647206875&s=arts-crafts&sprefix=3+pack+silcone+soap+molds%2Ca...

{Happy Sunday Afternoon Everyone}

  Good Sunday Afternoon friends. I hope that your weekend has been lovely for you. We've had a good weekend and a busy one. Grands, church, cooking, baking, playing and well, I am a little tuckered out right now but resting up as we have a birthday party to attend later on this afternoon. I shared with you in January that I have felt led each month this year to do a focus board. I am loving it as my monthly focus boards keep me mindful of what my true focus should be. I keep it in my kitchen as I read it off and on throughout the day.  My three daughters participate in the Annual River Run each year and this is their 3rd year of doing this as the Sister Trio. I love that they do this together and stay active. I was so proud of them. NOPE...in case you are wondering....Running is out of the question for me unless I am being chased and then I am afraid that my slowness would get me caught quick! I will stick to Yoga and low impact exercise but I gladly cheer these girls on....

{Birthday Trip To The Mountains-2022}

  Hello everyone! Mercy, I am out of my norm with making a post except on Sundays! But, I wanted to share our little getaway with my blogging friends. I know some of you have seen my pictures that I posted on FB and I appreciate your sweet comments so please....pass this post right on by if you wish.  Marty and I try to go somewhere each year for my birthday. It's just always been what he wanted to gift to me for my birthday. However, the birthday getaway has turned into a time for us to simply have a change of scenery, truly relax, pray together, do our devotionals together and just simply do WHAT WE DESIRE! We normally go to North Georgia Mountains as we love that area but this year we decided to go to Boone, NC. It was some of kind of cold for this Florida girl, though I have a Georgia heart, but the mountain side was so beautiful. God sure knows how to SHOW OFF! We had a beautiful cabin. That game room could easily be Marty's man cave. We went to several places while there...
