{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

{What A Great Week}

Hope you all are doing well on this Sunday afternoon. It's hot and humid in my neck of the woods but we had a tad of a shower earlier that brought the temps down a few degrees. We need rain so bad. Seems like everyone around us is getting a nice shower but us! Oh, I guess we are never happy though. Rain, don't rain, come on cooler weather, please warm up some. Mercy! Us humans! LOL! We've had a busy week but lots of fun too.

We enjoyed some good old grilled ribs that Marty prepared for us and the meat just fell off the bone. He is for sure the master griller at our house. I mix a rub together made out of everything you can image and rub our ribs down and let them sit in the frig. for 24 hours. We cover them with foil and cook on low temp on gas grill for 30 minutes and then flip them over to the other side for another 30 minutes. Then we flip once more and cook for 3 hours. Mercy...no sauce is needed they are so good.

My middle daughter's birthday was yesterday but as I posted in my last post we celebrated her last weekend with a girls trip. My Melissa is our  CrossFit queen, softball and dance mom, high energy, party planning, willing to help others, Jesus loving, family loving daughter. She keeps life interesting and I can assure you there is never a dull moment when she is around.

I had lunch with a sweet friend last week and we haven't seen one another in a while though we live in the same town. We always enjoy one another's company so we MADE the time and  enjoyed one another.

She gifted me with this beautiful orchid. I just love it. Now let's pray I can keep it alive!

Two of my grands have been going to a few classes with me to yoga and I am loving them being there with me.

My instructor is a lovely Christian woman and one-two days a week she has family time throughout the summer. My grands love it and she takes up so much time with them.
It sure does keep my "older" muscles stretched for sure and definitely gives me motivation for self-care.
Isn't my oldest granddaughter just lovely? She and her sweet family took a little trip to Helen, Ga. and my daughter sent me this picture. I just can't believe my oldest grandchild is already 18 years old. And...if you've never been to the little Hallmark town of Helen you should go. Such a quaint little town with great vibes.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week and maybe you are like me this week and questioning if God will show Himself in a particular situation or give you a clear answer to something that you have been praying about. He may have be waiting on you to simply step out in faith or...He may have already given you the answer but it wasn't just wanted you wanted to hear. BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD...He reminds me of this often.
Have a beautiful week friends.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. A lovely post and photographs.
    I think it is so nice that two of your grands have been going to some of the yoga classes with you - such fun.

    Have a good week ahead, here in the UK we are experiencing very hot weather, so I am doing my best to stay cool and hydrated :)

    All the best Jan

  2. hi Cindy! So glad you had a great week! How fun that you can take your grands to yoga class, and all the girls are just beautiful! Hope you get some rain, we've had a lot both on the coast and up in Bham, lots of storms too. I know you're staying hydrated with all your fancy drinks!

  3. We had some good rain this afternoon and it was SO good to see it really coming down for a good while. Like you, it always seems to skirt around our town when others are getting it, so we were very happy to get such a good rain today. Golly, those ribs sure look good enough to eat! I've never tried to cook ribs like that before. I'd be afraid the gas would run out if it was cooking for 3 hours! Maybe we just don't know how to do it right. Just a regular gas grill, right? Those sure are making my mouth water! LOL Happy Birthday to your lovely daughter! and what fun to do the yoga class with your granddaughters! Looks like great exercise. We passed through Helen, GA, when we went to the mountains with our kids a couple years ago. But it was so crowded we couldn't really stop and do anything because of the traffic, so we just kept on going since we had a place we needed to get to. It might be fun to go back when we have more time and it isn't so busy. It was a holiday week when we went before. Your pretty granddaughter looks lovely with that backdrop! Love the Tony Evans quote. Our kids are stepping out in faith with moving their store to our town. And so are we, knowing that we will need to become more involved to help them with it. It should be exciting. Prayers appreciated. I enjoyed your post as always. You always make me smile.

    1. Have prayed for your kiddos as they as they step out in faith Pam. It is sure easier said than done at times. Help us all Lord. Yes, Marty cooked those ribs on a gas grill and set it on lowest setting possible. They were so good! The town of Helen is too cute. We were staying in Blue Ridge, Ga and decided to take a day trip there. We loved it. I would like to go around Christmas. They say it's breathtaking during the holidays.

  4. Cindy,
    Thanks so much for stopping by!! Looks like you did have a great week!! We are all doing well and recovering from Co Vid...Thank Goodness we had mild cases but one has to be so careful as a highly contagious strain of omicron is going around....Hopefully, we will not get it again but the chances of that happening are slim....
    Hugs,

  6. Yes, your granddaughter is lovely. Good for you taking classes to keep yourself in shape. I'm afraid the ship has sailed for my sorry behind. Oh you are so right. Instead of saying "someday we must," make a plan...do lunch! I did say a quick prayer for your new orchid. It is beautiful.

    I know how you feel about the rain being all around but not hitting us. That happened to us this weekend too.
    I can keep orchids alive but they do not rebloom. I have tried so many things. LOL!
    Have a blessed week, Cindy.

  9. Hi Cindy. Always love your posts. Having lunch and catching up with a friend is always so wonderful. I heard if you just put an ice cube in your orchid each week that is the best way to water and keep them alive. I got a new computer and it is not letting my google account activate for comments. Trying to figure that out so I had to do it as anonymous!!! Have a good week. Kris @ Junk Chic Cottage

  11. Oooooh those ribs look so tasty! I love fall off the bones ribs so much. Your yoga with the grands looks like fun, and your oldest granddaughter is such a beauty. I’ve tried and tried to get orchids to rebloom, but after a few years, I end up throwing them out. We need rain so badly, too. I go out everyday to water my potted things. Have a beautiful week, my friend.

  13. I've always wanted to visit Helen, GA. Maybe someday. Those ribs look awesome! Such lovely photos of daughters and grand daughters. One of my grand daughters, Molly is our family's Cross-Fit queen. Right now she's pregnant but I doubt that will slow her down any. Beautiful orchid! I'm trying to keep a geranium plant alive! I don't know how I'd do with an orchid!

  15. PS When we lived in NC we drove over to Helen several times and loved it! It's so picturesque and a great place to walk around in with the beauty of the surroundings.

  16. Every visit here inspires me with your love for family and how you celebrate them, how you all cook and enjoy a meal together and now...Christian Yoga! I hear it is not easy. I could use some stretching if done right. I think it is the best thing for all of us. May the Lord hear our cries to Him and answer us swiftly. Oh, and we are so very dry here in Arizona. But we got a much needed thunderstorm this afternoon and possibly more will come this week. Hope Florida gets some rain, too.

  21. Hi Cindy, those ribs look sooooo gooood! I asked hubby to make me some meat loaf because I didn't want to eat anymore soup. He said that was good sign I was getting better. I feel pretty good now. All signs are gone, and I started feeling sick a week ago. Some of the girls that got it at camp like I did are pretty sick. It really is increasing again. I always enjoy the lovely pictures of your family. I need to get into a yoga or Pilates class. Nice that you had lunch with your friend. I will be able to see mine next week. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th
