{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Fun with the littles}

 Good Sunday afternoon y'all. I hope that you all have had a great week. We actually got about 2 inches of rain yesterday and it was so nice. It did cool off a bit and this morning we had a nice breeze as we enjoyed coffee on the front porch. But...no breeze or rain today. HOT!

The youngest two grands stared their new school year in which my daughter who taught school in the public school system for 11 years teaches them at home. Adalynn and Annaleigh are very blessed to have their mom teach them. They love it and of course they had to get all gussied up for their first day of school pictures you know?

The youngest three grands stayed with Papa and Nana Friday and Saturday as for an early birthday outing my daughter had the chance to go see Alan Jackson in Savannah, Ga. They couldn't wait for Papa to get home so he could ride them around on the 4-wheeler. Never mind that he had been up since 4 am and returned home about 6 pm. from work. What we do for the grands, right?

Of course we done a little yoga, nails, and played around with makeup. They love doing yoga to the Christian song called Oceans by Hillsong. And, like their Nana, their favorite part is being rewarded with a cool wash cloth and rest. LOL! Mine have essential oils on them so I put a tad of orange (Kid safe) on their wash clothes. Just enough they felt so special. We made them ahead of time and put them in the freezer for just a bit so they would be nice and cool.

We had baked some cookies but I cheated this time and used packaged chocolate chip cookie mix.  It sure didn't matter to them as they gobbled them up! They did save Papa a few though.

Then we baked a cake for Sunday dinner. The best part is licking the beater or spoon you know!

Our granddaugher Kyleigh started snapping pictures using filters. So glad they know how to do this! LOL! Grands are surely so much fun but I will tell you, this Nana was tired. I only wish that I had just a tad of their energy. They say, "grandchildren will keep you young". Well, I am not so sure that meant body wise but they sure keep me younger mind wise as I try so hard to look through their eyes, listen to their words and hear what they hear. Oh the joys of children....

A friend of mine will occasionally "dump" all of her saves that she keeps on her phone and I  always love to read them. I hope that these speak to your heart as they did mine. Many times her little "saves to her phone dump" come at just the right time. I hope that you all have a wonderfully blessed week.
Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  7. Your husband's expression as he listens cracked me up. Having the explanation that it had been a long day made perfect sense. It is obviously great fun for the girls to spend time with you. You make life fun!

  9. Always fun to see your delightful granddaughters. I don't know how to do the photo filters either, so I stick with the normal photos. LOL.

  10. You continue to make the most wonderful memories with your grandchildren, and especially when you have them all to yourself for those overnight visits.

  11. Hi Cindy, I enjoyed all the pictures. That is nice that your daughter can homeschool. The tractor picture reminded me of my grandfather. He hitched a wagon to the back of his lawnmower and pulled us around. Yoga to Oceans is great. I love that song! I love the matching headbands. Enjoy your week!

  15. Hi, Cindy - I think I'm like a voice from the past. We've had so much going on and have done a lot of traveling over the past few months. I love the pictures of your grandkids. They are growing up so fast, as are mine. I'd love to know more about your essential oils on your washcloth. I recently started with essential oils. I'll be back again to see what you have to share.

  16. Oh, wow! Our friends went to see Alan Jackson, too! I am pretty sure it was that same exact concert. He is so wonderful. One of the true-blue country classic musicians. I will be sad when he retires! Your little grands are just so precious!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
