{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Happy Monday Y'all}

 My usual Sunday post surely didn't happen this week. Lesson for me is: Sometimes, STUFF just happens....LOL!  We've been trying to catch up on projects around our home and as most know my porch has been one of them. We added a welcome sign that would you believe I found under a bed in the guest room (AKA as the Buck Room) It's not exactly what I want but works for now for us. It is a pretty sign though. Marty and I enjoyed yet another day date. This time though it was on a Saturday as he is not retired yet. We found a cute little Cuban bistro that was quaint and enjoyed a good lunch. A little shopping was on the agenda. We came home and hung those lovely ferns that Marty so faithfully tends too. Thank the Lord cause I can't even reach them to water them without my step ladder!  We sealed the swing my FIL made and actually sat out on the front porch to enjoy the new ceiling fans. Now to take the stickers off the fern pots! LOL!  Despite the fickle weather we feel we...

{Enjoying The Little Things In Life}

  I hope that you all are enjoying your Sunday afternoon. Our family has left to go home after our Sunday dinner so now I am sitting down to enjoy a cup of hot black  tea with honey. I should be sitting outside on the porch drinking my tea but it's a tad chilly today. Us Floridians just aren't sure how to dress these days for our weather. On Saint Patrick's day I decided to brew myself a cup of green tea and since I was having a very heathy tea I decided to have a shortbread cookie dipped in chocolate. LOL! I actually stumbled across the small box of shortbread cookies in my pantry that apparently I had tucked in the far back corner behind some boxes of dry items. These cookies had been gifted to me in a gift basket in February. I suddenly remembered that I had hid them in the pantry so the grands wouldn't eat them. However, I hid them from myself too! LOL!  Do you like green tea? I have several friends that don't but I love mixing them with other teas or just havin...

{Front Porch Spring Cleaning}

Though it's not officially "Spring" and the weather in Florida is fickle at this time, I have been doing a little Spring cleaning. We have been cleaning our front porch! WHEW! What a job. Marty finally told me that I have entirely too much on that porch! LOL! Our home has the looks of a Ranch style rustic look to it so my porch is long. It's actually 64 feet long so you know...I gotta have a few things to put on the porch, right? We washed down everything, dusted, swept, moved and still have things to do but as my granny would have said, "Rome wasn't built in a day".   Yes, I have a Baker's rack on my front porch. I love the old thing and I change out the decor from time to time. Just depends on what "kind of mood I'm in at the moment".  Decided for now to keep my little mix-matched front porch decor. I will admit though I've been torn a little between decorating seasonal on the porch or just keeping my mix matched. It's so mu...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...
